  3. get a 1500 PSI Water Blaster, it will be clean within minutes if the solvents dont work
  4. Their bringing the sedans back again ... I think I would rather the M5
  5. Good stuff ... Interesting reading :-) Doesnt anyone here but those BMW car care products? Or are they just Mothers products with the roundel on it and charge extra? Rain X is good after your car is clean (on the windshield, not the car) - really helps with rainy weather weather, and reduces the semi circles left on your windshield
  6. Only if your car has a bimmersport sticker on it....
  7. guys ... honestly stay away from cheap and nasty kits that are cheap, you cant get replacement ballasts unless you buy another kit. With the ones I have, they are guaranteed to last. I started off with budget ones from Ebay and they lasted 6 months and then needed replacing. D4MSXC .... you saw one off my cars last night, what did you think? Cheap ones rust as well around the points where the halo taps into a wire going to the ballast. Install with my kits are installed by a technician who has worked with BMW South Africa, Easy Bay BMW in California and now Team Mcmillan (22 years, started on the E21) - your install will be primo. Thin lines are available too.
  8. Sorry, Im a bit behind when it comes to these things :-)
  9. 15 Year old steals the E30 and cops cant catch him ... the breakdown was sad at the end:
  10. i agree...but some of these prices people ask for are IMO what this thread titles "ridiculous" If was a clean and well looked after 2002, 507 or even a E21 etc they could ask what they like because they are rare. Good on him if that guy gets what he wants
  11. haha ...18K maybe late 1998/1999? i have a mate who owns a M325 E30 and seems to think it is one in of the 4 in NZ that are the EVO model M3. Its a piece of sh*t, home jobs and servicing, home made spots and bumper but claims he will get $85,000 for it....dreamers?? Back to the M325 on this thread ..this guys car is clean but i wouldnt pay more than 12/14K for it Or maybe David Beckham drove it or something??
  12. All OE headlamps; Bosch. Hella. etc Aftermarket headlamps (DEPO - made in Taiwan) Im not sure about
  13. 12 months on Ballasts and Halos
  14. Na, you just take the lenses of the OEM headlamps and stick the halos in behind, easy as and your E30 looks original. LED's are visible in day? I have seen the white versions but only at dusk/dawn. You can see the points in side the tube also, with DDE's its a complete circle
  15. Heres the LED style that most E30's have today ...
  16. I have just come back from US catching up with my buddies from Umnitza Inc and have some DDE angel eyes for E30's... these aint in New Zealand so be the first and be seen. Unlike the LED style, these are visible during the day, look clean and thin unlike those complete headlamp LED styles that you get off Ebay or Trademe. These look wicked guys, I have installed a set on a M325 in West Auckland. Any interested on this forum before I flick em on trademe? $250, we can install them if you wish for a fee.
  17. I have a pair that are OEM clear from a 328 motorsport - they have one broken pin but still fit in securely. If you want them, you can have em! .. free that is, just pop around

    e36's

Ive had both E30's and now have an E36 - Single VANOS is on the M50 motors, Double VANOS is on M52 VANOS helps the emission reducing wasted gas and is on the intake Cam, Double VANOS is the same only works better and faster at low and high engine speeds and is on both intake and out take. VANOS helps with smoother acceleration, better fuel and air mixture. Cambelt is chain. Maintainence is similiar to E30, water pump is easy to access. I think most problems from wear and tear on a E36 are the pulleys - they need replacing after 7 years on average from new, brake box under the steering column goes quite often, VANOS hose lines - these leak, rear shocks - get these checked, door linings seem to squeek alot compared to the E34, OBC - pixels go - expensive to replace, they cant be fixed .... fuel pump... other than than IMO they are a really reliable car, excellent performance and smooth ride. Fuel Ecomony - 316/318 versus 325 - i would go 325 My pick out of the E36 range excluding M3 would be 323 or 328, 325 has older technology and for the same price thanks to Jap imports
  19. Hey, im still learning, I first took an interest in BM's back in 1997 where I bought a E30 that was wrecked because back then in Australia you needed a mortgage to pay for a BMW second hand that was in great condition. Prior to BM's I was a Holden nut driving a WB Caprice with a 308 ... and a chunky discman to play cds because CD players were too expensive compared to todays prices and Dragway deepdish rims, dumped with leather interior ......ha Now I look at Holdens and think why?? Check out www.bmwworld.com - thats pretty thorough with most models and terminalogy and links if you want to get into it all... there are heaps more sites out there to
  20. Hi Allan, i believe you own a E39 530? With your car your check control (OBC) is located under your speedo so you wont have these 7/11/18 button styles. OBC - On Board Computer MID - Multi information display
  21. Has anyone here upgraded their 7 or 11 buton OBC to a 18? The dealers and BM workshop recon I cant upgrade but all these americans on Ebay believe its a piece of cake and is possible. has anyone here tried it or know anything about it?
  22. Nothing Bro, Im just driving down to work on some cars ... I just wanted to meet other enthusiasts and have a beer along the way ..
  23. Any members going down there or up here?, I convoyed with Beemers down the F2 in Sydney and yet to do it here in NZ
  24. I know what you mean, I have been searching for the past month and cant find anything, I believe I saw a full kit from a 328 recently on here, was this you? Its going onto a 325 coupe, unless I could get those Milltek's/DTM's for cheap .. ha
