BMW 8-Series to make a come back as a four-door coupe?
entscheidend replied to Andrew's topic in News
Sexy looking car .. but I dont think it should be badged as a 8 series - and yes to me it is a saloon NOT a coupe. It looks a mix of a E64 / CLS & Aston IMO It looks nothing like a 8 and therefore should have its own model- maybe make it the X9 or something. I.E> When they made the Z8, it was based on a similar shell as the 507, but it was called the Z8 and not a 507 -
Thanks Jochen, i have just sent you a message Thanks all for your help

Is there a thread or does anyone know what I missing here ... I cant seem to adjust the volume on this car, not sure if it is focked or if I have a pressed something. When I got the car the stereo worked fine, now it is set to the same volume and cant be changed. The knob only works now to turn on and off (push in and out) This is the model without the TV/SATNAV, just the basic BC/stereo with tape player above. Anyone have a suggestion?

Good point .. fair enough. Im not one of the stupid people? I work hard and pay my taxes so these wonderful immigrants come to this country and live off it without working ... plus support the ones who sit around doing f**k all and make more babies without the same father. Some government we have ...

You sound like those pain in the butt customers that want to speak to a senior manager .. when ever I get them I have a good gaze out the window at rangitoto and count the boats .. I must admit I do that that with Telecom and I know Im wasting my time and wont get no where. No offense threeoneeight, you seem quite annoyed with insurance ... bad experience? Im on this forum like you because I love my cars ... not here as a complaint line for Insurance Im just sharing what I know ... I dont make the rules, charge the premium ... I just sit on my arse and get paid ... haha ....(not from the premium everyone pays - my policies pay for my salary)
-
Hard to say because there are so many different factors as to how it rates your premium. Its a $60 Million software platform that does the job. Basically, it will take into account how many speeding tickets youve had, where you live, secuity, finance on car, how you pay, accidents in past, how may drivers you have on policy, licence, mods, type of car, mileage and it goes on ... Areas in Auckland most to least expensive: 1. South Auckland $$$$ 2. Central Auckland (Waiheke) 3. West Auckland 4. North Shore 5. East Auckland $ Im guessing there will be an increase of anywhere from 5 - 50% i will have a play around tomorrow and work out some average premiums. 18 - 25 Year old? BMW E30 - mostly 318 - 325M? $10,000 value? Immobilsed? This is the majority of everyone here? Wellingtonians - 1. Lower HUtt 2. Upper hutt 3. Wellington CBD area 4. Johnsonville Rest of the country apart from Christchurch ... do you guys have tarcel roads or gravel?

Your right about we are in a country that doesnt require compulsory insurance... thats what they are wanting to change. The rest of the western nations charge high but not NZ. This will make it easier when it comes to claims where TP dont have insurance. XY want to be the first and the rest will follow, we are currently implementing a change of products and policy wording to X, Y- this will roll out shortly which is an extemded platform from Insurer A in Australia. (2 months) If you are a customer of X/Y and your policy is due for renewal in the next 12 months - you will notice a huge change to what your covered for and as well as your premium - READ IT to cover your selves. The old products/premiums will phase out once all business on the old books (current) will transfer over the new products. The other insurers are following. Ok, I have said far too much.....you guys are the first in the country to know. Im not full of sh*t, believe if you want or dont, your choice .... Im just helping with Andrews query and this thread with inside stuff. Happy insuring guys

Everything Euro including BMW, Merc, VW, Peugeot, Ferrari, Porsche, Opel etc - these cars are higher risk in terms of parts. Japs, Holden & Ford (apart from Focus etc) will be the same apart from Lexus
-
They wont, just a friendly letter from the CEO stating premiums have gone up

Take it to Greenland and you willl be sweet. Money makes the world go round....

Sorry 318, I have to disagree strongly with you here. X, Y has been running at NZ rates along with the other insurers. All Insurers and banks (banks insurance - ASB, Westpac, BNZ, ANZ are underwritten by IAG, Lumley; Vero etc ..... all the insurers are Australian. NZ is nothing like the states, premiums are mainly rated here in NZ by where you live an age, USA/Canada is more around the value and type of vehicle. For instance, in the next few months if you are with X / Y your premiums are going to based on what you drive and as well as your history...ie: Age: 26 (Freddy) Vehicle: 2001 BMW X5 Value: 65,000 Premium: $1500 Age: 26 (Freddy) Vehicle: 2006 Ford Fairlane Value: $65,000 Premium: $550 At the moment, Both cars for Freddy would be $550 annually as a premium See the difference?? Euro cars are going to b tough and if you hold a learners or restricted or Under 25 years old But hey ... if you want to think It aint going to change because NZ is too small etc thats up to you ... Im just giving you guys a heads up, Ive seen whats on the plans

Move to Iraq or somewhere like that or buy a moped
-
I cant say too much here, if insurance companies are planning to do this and be like the Aussies and poms, they will do it. It aint up to the consumer, If someone is need of insurance because of peace of mind or as security for a finance co. we have no choice but too pay it. Cars are a higher risk, especially the 16 to 24 year old bracket - there are thousands of claims each month

Everyone has different opinions and desires when it comes to which angel eyes to buy .. IMO these dont look OEM, look more "Hondarish" and cant use the auto leveling effectively from the steering column. at dusk you can see the patchy halo ring.... thats just my opinion
-
With myself being in the insurance industry .... just a heads up guys with what you can expect with your premiums .... No matter who you are with with your with the banks, Tower, AA, State your premiums are going to have a huge increase due to NZ being behind the rest of the world. For example, If you pay $600 annualy for your premium here in NZ, in Australia you would pay $3500 AUD, in the UK as above etc. So in 12 - 24 months .. start saving people ...Im not kidding

I have a Dynatron fitted to my 323, when I lock it with the remote (Dyno one) it locks the car but not the fuel door, will Mongoose lock everything? Also, for $380, can you also remove the wiring for my Valentine 1 radar from the top of the windshield and route around the dash? Has it got tilt sensors? and glass breakage? -
Thats simple to fix .. Eurovogue seems to get more business through Trademe and Ebay and Google more than here??
-
IMO get your tails, repeaters - DEPO, corners get OEM BMW,
-
When you mean clear light set, do you mean repeaters, corners and tail lights? Tail lights & repeaters seem to fit if its aftermarket no problem, corners dont always fit if their aftermarket.

Haha ... no one speaks english, your right! About 60% of the staff in our Auckland call centre are indian! We dont have kiwis to choose from anymore because the job market in Auckland for call centres is tight, so thats why it seems you are speaking to someone in Bombay... Hard time on insuring your 318? are you wanting to increase the value it is insured for? or are your excesses ridiculous?
