So you didn't make that picture? Oooo, an anonymous hater, welcome to the interent!

Hahahahaha that is f**king brilliant Sir. Not so cool with the Dork bit though. I'll honor my pride here and say 'Want to race?' That show is damn good though. I'd let Ryosuke drive his white comet where-ever he likes.

I emphasize 'windy' (was mainly thinking of the hairpins down into akaroa harbour, for those who know them)

Ultimate Alpine Ski tourer, just needs a wee drop.

So much empathy on the forums today!

Study show young drivers choose the wrong cars.

E30's have a 3cm long crumple zone at the front and rear, and make for massive neck injuries at even slow speeds. Still, it's certainly not a wrong car to drive -
It'd beat a 540 down a windy hill with that small lump o iron in the front...

I know who used to own that car. It's F UCK ED.

That is so unfortunate James! I had a bonnet nearly come up on me in my ol' Corona, slammed the brakes on once I saw it start shuddering, waiting to catch some air.. Lucky. Get it tuned already! We must go for a blast across the plains.

Well thanks Chris. the car is truely amazing for something that has single point pivot trailing arms at the rear.. And I have removed the Summit Rd video, it was really a demonstration back when I had just got the car going again after the upgrades, and the actual Summit Rd was covered in gravel, quite a boring video imho. A new video will be made this summer sometime, with hot tarmac and R comp tires... Couple of videos here: Track video: http://www.vimeo.com/6804635 Summit rd oversteering videos: and Waaaay too fun.

HECTIC AS! On gas mileage..

Might start linking pictures rather than uploading to BS then Zooming is pointless cause it stretches all the pictures and blurs them. Hard to read in the long afternoon hours wasting away on the internet.

800 pixels wide is very outdated. Wish the forum borders would fill up the browser, on any laptop or desktop younger than 8 years old I bet there are nice black gaps on either side of the posting zone..... That is all!

Off the top of my head it's measured by pressing a sharpish 5kg weight into the compound and seeing how much it sinks in. The more it sinks , the lower the rating. And wiki says: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shore_durometer 4.5kg for D, or .8kg for A, close enough ahaa.

Haha my little idea sketch didn't apply to this guys problem, just reminded me of it. And of course an escort would have something as cool as that feature

Poor front heavy eightsix! Good god it moved though! M engine + E30 = Most likely the fastest hypercar in the world (E60 M5 V10 is recommended)
-
Hmm that 86 had a hell of a spool woosh as it went past at the end! Was wondering what it had when it went past you on the back straight aha. Nice wee vid.

The seatbelt wouldn't be attached to a bucket seat anyway would it? You'd have to make a new mounting point on the trans tunnel. Unless you used stock rails, which I personally wouldn't, they are sh*t.

Here's a idea I have made visual for you all. Probably been done before. I'd get this done, however, it would be pointless once a cage comes!
-
Sounds good. Delrin is 75D urethane by the way. Just 75D all 3 parts and you'll have zero movement.
-
Could be styled better at the front, but this has given me so much inspiration for the future tube frame E30 I'm planning

tc, Wasn't directly the mounts. The bolts backed out and the resulting gap between the arm and block caused the cracks. Solid engine mounts are still very worth it. Just have to locktite some key bolts, better than spring washers really. I'm happy to be the test dummy for Bimmersport. New mount will get here tomorrow for 15 dollars inc courier thanks to Jono51 from Welly Pros for Solid mounts are: Easier to change gears as the box doesn't roll with the engine and cause misalignment with your muscle memory, Much crisper 'launches' and shifts between gears, motor doesn't waste torque on twisting the engine on the softer mounts. Dash board vibrations are full raze. Cons: Oil cooler lines fall out of block and bolts holding on engine mount arm. And resonant frequency of the dashboard is sometimes hard to talk over hahaha

Yep, do want.

Why not make the thread tomorrow when you have pics???????//

You are impossible to comprehend. Looking underneath my standard-ly lowered e30, the control arms are on a 20 degree approx downward angle. I don't understand where you got 0.2mm of movement from to get .008 degrees of camber change from what we were talking about? But if you were to lower the car more, even from a already nicely lowered height, the camber would increase quite noticeibly. And that's all we were talking about before.. The Camber gains when lowered, but you lose the amount of travel you have where you still gain camber. And everything I have read about racecar setup has Toe Out on the front wheels, google 'racing alignment settings' and just the first page has some great info, I bet actual books written by race engineers would have the same thing. Here's a whole page of real people using Toe Out on BMWs http://www.e30tech.com/forum/search.php?searchid=2292028 Making their MacPherson strut cars handle amazingly.
