May not be a fuse. Could be a number of things SI batteries flat, that fan thingy (viscious?) etc. It may pay to get it checked - try Glenn at Botany Motor Worx - he knows his stuff. 0800BMWLTD

$30? What is it? Gold Plated?

I'm sure the old saying would go here: "If you have to ask, you can't afford it!"

How many NZ New E30 318is' are here on Bimmersport
bmw.maniac replied to far4ngn's topic in General Discussion
There's Beau's white one, and is it Jeddy (?) who's just bought a red one and Gus' red 318iS Turbo. I'm sure there's another red one knocking around somewhere! Plus I can think of two others that aren't on Bimmersport, on red one in Wellington that I was thinking about, and another really mint one down in Christchurch that someone went and viewed and reckoned they could "eat their lunch of that engine, it's so clean!" -
You must be a real man, acting so hard behind the keyboard.

And how did he get your number if he didn't have a membership? Oh let me guess, he was using his friends.
-
So what, you friend, a TM member since September '08, got you number off a prvious auction with the latest starting on the 2nd or 3rd? So what, he registered on the 1st and got your number that very same day? I sense a Tui ad.

E30? If so then it is possible to remove the plastic bit, a lot of American forums have writeups for it. -
Cheap trade in price for my 2000 e46 330Ci
bmw.maniac replied to far4ngn's topic in General Discussion
Car prices are all over the place at the moment. Last week my Dad bought a mint NZ New 2001 530i of a surgeon in Takapuna. 2 NZ Owners, Full Team McMillan service history, 83,000km all for a grand total of $15,000. TradeMe lists similar cars with the same km but imports as anything from 20,000 - 29,000. -
Sorry, I should have mentioned make an informed choice if starting today as a young person - with all the stuff on TV, in mags and taught at school (my health class two years ago was basically an anti-harrassment/anti-smoking class). However, if one started say 40 years ago, then it is a complete different story. I had a Grandfather die from lung cancer caused by smoking, so I completly understand the suffering involved, and when he stared it was considered quite the 'norm' - with none of the 'warnings' etc teens get today; quite the uninformed choice as you state.
-
I see smoking's generally fine - everyone makes their own decisions, and if they are aware of the dangers they can make an informed choice. However, smoking in the car is definite no-no. What can devalue your car more quickly than having a nice coating of tar all over the seats? I also cringe seeing parents smoking in cars with young kids - there is no need for that. Oh and for the record, I don't smoke. Being brought up with all the anti-smoking crap at school and with Dad working in the health sector would make it unlikely i'd ever start either.

Very good. A tad on the expensive side, at about $25 for a 325mL bottle of any product. The only distributor in NZ only sells them on Trademe, username: autoglym.

It's just ticked over 183,000. Thanks for the comments guys, I plan to start coming to some meets sometime soon - seeing that my parents have decided i'm old enough to drive to Auckland by myself!

Well after being a member of Bimmersport for around 1 1/2 years, I decided I shoud show you some pics of my pride and joy. Ive spent all weekend trying to make it look presentable with Autoglym stuff! It is a completly original, NZ New 1988 318i coupe. Sold new at Shellys to some central Wellington Meat company, presumably for the weathly Khandallah-based owners to use. It has shifted hand a few time (20 (!) Registered owners including myself - however most of them are dealers). It has the typical NZ New E30 318i options, manual windows, manual sunroof, vinyl doorcars, but it does have Power steering! And yes, they are 15" Basketweaves, one of the previous owners put them on, as the build sheet says it came to NZ wearing Bottlecaps. Any comments are welcome. Cheers, Eddy

That, and the fact their 'range' of plates avaliable suck. The seem to focus on the 'personalising' of the numbers, where other countries focus on the customising of the actual plate. For example, the range of plate options in Queensland is incredible! Any colour and 100+ designs FTW! While in Brisbane I saw a mean new Black X5 with a black plate with gold lettering. Awesome

Ahh well, I see you removed the word being. Of course that would change the meaning!

My girlfriend's in Fiji - being anal is all I have to do in the meantime haha.

I know that, I can read. The same still applies between the two - this is needingless chatter about a car for sale by someone else. When you actually own the car you can post it in the for sale section.

Can a Mod please shift this into the TradeMe discussions section? Ta

I have rung Mohammed about this. It's not a convertible. It's a Coupe - type the vin into RealOEM or bmw-z1 to confirm this. It is repossessed, and is apparantly quite rough, and sounds like it has had the pants thrashed off of it. I asked if I could get a pre-purchase inspection on it at Botany Motor Worx, and he said the cars aren't allowed to leave Turners. But they do have an in-house car inspection service, however I doubt they will even skim the top of what Glenn would check. Remember, M3s aren't $8000 for no reason. Beware.
-
That's pretty ignorant. Glenn is exactly right - a second hand one could pack up like this in another year. Wouldn't it be better getting it repaired with a warranty?

M or not? is a motorsport E30 same as M-tech?
bmw.maniac replied to PORTNOY's topic in General Discussion
Exactly. I have numerous original BMW E30 brochures at home, and from reading them there seems to be two types of so-called 'motorsport' E30s. 1) Original M325i - destined motorsport from the day the vin was assigned. Only avaliable in Coupe form with the common options stated elsewhere in this thread. Original Motorsport, customers bought a M325i, instead of a 325i with the Motorsport box ticked. 2) Motorsport optioned 325i or 320i - were originally created as 325i or 320i, and then the M options were added later - body kit, 14" or 15" Weaves etc in a "Motorsport Package" - I think Black headlining also came as part of this package, so you can't judge by having one. These were avalisble in Coupe or 4-Door, Manual or Auto. Basically a plain old 320i or 325i with the 'Motorsport' box ticked by the customer. The BMW vin decoder avaliable online (bmw-z1.com or something) will tell you if your car is a REAL M325i or simply a motorsport optioned 325i. If it's real, M325i will appear under model, if it's an optioned one, 325i will appear. Disregard anything that appears on Carfax, you can basically register a car as anything in this country. Once an importer register a C180 with AMG bits as a C36 AMG! -
Remember the weird kit has been on it since new. However, the wheels...
