Welcome, It is possible, but it is be complex. You will need the OBC itself and an extra wiring harness at the very least. Check out this for more details OBC Retrofit This pick put me off installing an OBC! Wow Do you have any pics off your car? Eddy

which e30's had battery in the boot factory???????
bmw.maniac replied to EDIRTY's topic in General Discussion
Full Computer was an option, SE is a highly spec'd up e30 (Sports Seats, Computer, sideskirts etc) -
eBay.co.uk have loads of e30 original brochures - of course for the UK market.
-
I reckon you should hunt around and find a nice, decent South African Auto 325i. They usually come with heaps of extras (Electric Everything, Leather Seats, OBC, Cruise Control etc) and are resonably cheap.
-
320i's suck gas. Seriously! They are also extremely slow when paired with an Auto. I wouldn't touch them! Get either a 325i Auto (bigger engine, also cheaper on gas) or a 318i Auto.

Shame it doesn't have a TV.

How long have you been driving? There's a kid in my class (16 years old) who's going to court on Tuesday as he has collected $450 in fines in 6 months, and is pending a license suspension. Oh, and "daddy pays the fines" - he's a rich asian kid.
-
Exactly what I though, and I'm in the smart classes at school hahaha

I'm in disbelief. How can they value this at $14990, when you could get a e30 M3, registered, in NZ for around $20,000? Is someone dreaming, or am I seriously undervaluing these? One didn't meet the reserve on TM a while ago for around $7K. Trademe Link I must admit though, looks absolutely pristine for a 17 year old car. Thoughts? Opinions?

Get a Euro plate filler (If it can fit with your American sized plate) to give it that cool, facelift look. Like on this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...970/k-36636.htm -
When I first saw this car I thought it looked like a normal spec'd up SA 325i, with the M-Technik kit option.

Hi Yuen, it's an e30. But I already kind of done what you're thinking of (I was following Will's article so i'd already removed astray and gear lever console. I've tried pushing from the back, and screwing the faceplate on, but the HVAC console bit will not go flush at all so I can screw the top screws in (The are four screws by the toggle things), because it refuses to move into that stupid angle the whole dash piece is. The HVAC piece is refusing to move, so that's my problem. There is a small metal clip at the bottom of the HVAC unit, and i'm wondering if that pushes into anything?
-
So, i've gone ahead and removed to centre console thing (heter controls, radio etc) to replace some blown lights, and I can't get the darn main cover back on properly, as the heater control toggles wont line up so I can screw those 4 screws back in! Does anyone have so advice on reassembling this, before I break something?? Thanks

I still like that Oxford Green touring at Coombes Johnston. At least Oxford Green + tan looks normal, and its a 540i!

Mine!! Pm'd

Would it not be more cost effective to buy a 2nd hand black dash carpet etc and spend a weekend fitting that, or even get them to install them?
-
Another putrid colour: Ugh
-
Just like that horrid e30 blue interior. Is it custom? I've never seen an e39 interior that colour. What's with the colour clash between the gear lever boot (black) and the handbrake boot (blue)?
-
Bump. Anyone??
-
I use 95, only because it's the highest octane you can get on the Coromandel. I shop at Caltex, but would buy from Shell if we had one here.
-
A couple of bulbs have blown behind my centre console thingy (behind heater controls), and I was wondering what type of bulbs are used behind there? I don't really want to pull out half my console only to find I have to order the bulbs. Cheers
