  1. Have you checked the coolant hose going to the radiator to make sure the thermostat is opened to allow coolant to flow through? Maybe you problem could just be a stuck thermostat.
  2. I highly recommend the Mintex pads from BNT. I have used these on various BMWs including a 330ci. They have excellent performance, and never squeak. The only downside would be higher disc wear due to the coarseness of the pad, but given the massive price difference, I wouldn't be too worried. With regards to rotors, I get Brembos from BNT - they're cheaper than factory and also provide excellent performance. PM me if you require any more details. Cheers, Andrew
  3. Ya, I've been reading that thread yesterday - but unfortunately no one seems to be able to replicate his results.... which got me a bit worried. The result looked real good thoh!
  4. I'm looking for the drivers side door handle surround (in black) for my MSpec E36. Its for a 4 door (if it makes any difference). Let me know if you have one lying abouts. Cheers!
  5. Hi guys, The fabric is really starting to look tatty on the door cards on my Mspec E36. I'm thinking about removing the old fabric and replacing it with something new - maybe even leather? Has anyone done anything similar or knows of any good guides on doing so? I've done a bit of research on google, but looks like most people weren't too successful.... I'm not keen on paying someone to do it, as the car really isn't worth much, and I don't wanna put $500 fixing something that doesn't affect its performance. Keen to hear about your experiences whether you've done a good job or not! Cheers, Andrew
  6. Hi Jeff, The most obvious difference between a M-spec and a non M-spec car would be the body kit. - The M-spec cars have sportier front and rear bumpers. If you're looking at a 4 door (sedan), then the M Spec models with have firmer suspension, but if you're looking at a 2-door, they're all the same for an E46. The interior (seats / door cards) are different, typically, M-spec models have half cloth / leather seats. But there are also sports leather / alcantara seats available. - You can identify these by the bigger side bolsters on the front seats. Also, if you open the door, there should be a large plastic strip with ///M written on it. A factory M-spec model should have all of the above. Cheers, Andrew
  7. Not sure about the E21, but off the top of my head, the E36 one is less than 100 ohms if that helps at all.
  8. Cool - thanks Ron. Definitely something wrong with mine I'll try chanigng the module to see if it fixes it.
  9. Thanks Vincent, I'm aware of the slowing down when not moving thing, but I'm afraid this is not the issue for me Brent - Would you know whether the module is mechanically timed (i.e using a RC circuit) or digitally timed?
  10. Hey Glenn, I've been following this thread since the beginning. Good on you for giving up and it looks like you've been inspirational for a few others along the way. Good on ya! Andrew
  11. Hey guys, I've recently downgraded from my E46 to an E36. One of the things I noticed (upon many others) was the speed of the wipers. Theres 3 settings. Setting 1: Approx 15 Sec delay between "wipes" Setting 2: Approx 3 Sec delay between "wipes" Setting 3: Continuous "fast wipes" I'm finding it a bit odd how the delay for setting one is so long and also how setting two isn't a continuous wipe a "normal speed". Is there something wrong? or is this the case for all E36's? Cheers, Andrew
  12. Was doing the oil change on my old mans 1.3L corolla yesterday. Pulled out the filter expecting oil to drip out everywhere, but only to find no oil / dirt / anything black in there - it looked as if its never been used. I'm puzzled. Could the oil pump have failed? Car seems to drive ok. Andrew

  14. Hi Guys, I've been doing a bit of photography as a part-time hobbie, and I'm wanting to brush up on some skills with photoshop CS5. Would anyone know of any good books for learning? A free Ebook would be preferable, but wouldn't mind paying for a good one Thanks in advance! Andrew
  15. I have a 16:9 monitor from an E46 if anyone is interested.
  16. I dont have an M3 gauge cluster, but if your interested in parting with your original cluster, I'd be interested
  17. I own a 550D and I have frequently used the D5100. I'm too lazy to write a full paragraph, so I'll summarise in bullet points: 1. Both cameras are excellent for its price. 2. The 550D takes better quality day time photos, the 5100 have less noise at higher iso (for night photos) and also is able to autofocus alot more effectively at low light. 3. The EF 50mm F1.8 Lens is very cheap <$200, equivalent for Nikon is over $300 - You WILL need this lens, if you want to take good photos (on a budget). 4. Both cameras only have 1 wheel (to adjust settings), Canon's one is adjusted with the fore-finger, the Nikon is adjusted with the thumb. Personally, I find canons setup a lot nicer to use. 5. The interface of the 550D is a lot more user friendly. 6. The D5100 can auto focus while shooting videos, the 550D can not. - this is VERY important if you intend to shoot videos. 7. With Nikons, often you're able to re-use old lenses from old SLR cameras due to its built in focus motor, however, with this particular model, it can not (But neither could the canon). Thats about it off the top of my head.... oh, and don't worry about the number of megapixels, you'll never need more than 7 lols. oh, forgot to mention the rotating screen - this could come in handy, but definitely not essential. The 550D has a capacitive sensor, which shuts off the screen when your shooting - its a very nice feature! If you've got any specific questions, let me know. Cheers, Andrew
  18. Yep, thats the one. Hm, its interesting - I've had the car for a couple of year, but its the first time I noticed it... I tried it again yesterday, but I think its back to "normal" - i.e, it blows out cold air when I tell it to. Quite strange...
  19. Hey guys, I was driving home yesterday, and turned on the demister to clear the fog on my windscreen. But I noticed it was blowing out hot air, even though I have the Air cond on, and the temperature set to the lowest (16°C). Is this normal? It blows out cold air as it should when I set the blower to blow out the front / foot well vents... Cheers, Andrew
  20. Hi, I'm wanting to replace the thermostat on my 330 as I've noticed that my water temp isn't very stable these days. - I'm guessing its not closing properly. I had a look on the realoem website, and found that the thermostat and housing is 1 part. Does that mean I have to replace the housing as well or can is it possible just to replace the thermostat? Thanks, Andrew
  21. Haha, no way bud! I was just going to help him do it after work
