Age of tyre is important, the rubber ages an becomes harder with time an with hardness comes less grip for you, Most manufactures i deal with have a 5 year warranty on manufactures faults eg thats the shelf life they give them. Most tires over 5 years old start to do funny things like inner carcase cord separation which makes the tire go out of round an cause vibrations which ends up leading to a blow out. so if ya got tires that are getting towards that 5-6year mark i say get out there an use them before they go to waste. A lot of high end tires are more expensive here due to the manufactures mark up on ya general seller. your average 'good' tyre shop hasn't got that bigger of a margin on the tyre its usually cost of tyre, fitting, balancing, shipping, casing disposal, gst and a bit of labour time. by all means tirerack is a good source if ya after something specific and want to deal with shipping etc just dont forget us little guys that are fitting rubber, we need customers too

If its just guard clearance that is the issue with a bit of roll like lucan you should be right. an the camber does look conservative on his maybe -1.5 degrees?. those do look like some rather wide 205s tho. on a 8 inch wheel 215s of most of our range end up similar to that. all comes down to tire choice is what kinda stretching you will get. toyo have a few options there also other brands i could recomend depending on your style of driving.

re050s huh. Not a bad tyre. Tad over priced in my opinion. Where do the tires rub? rubbing can be fixed in other ways beside under sizing your tires its kinda just hiding the real reason for rubbing

the dished ones came up mint from that picture. not sure on the black of the others but each to there own. as for tyres on a 8 inch 225/45r17 is a factory sizing so rock that unless ya in the market of stretched tires or anything. an depending on ya budget for tyres some toyo's would be good idea

removed moldy rear seat an rubbish that has filled the car for the past year an a bit. Removed rubber o ring to drain boot/battery tray of water. buffed back rear section of roof to find a gold metal substance looks like brazing? hmmm went over al visible rust patches(uk model) an sanded back an rust killed. found a mint tail light in boot while cleaning out... SCORE now i only have to buy one more to replace broken rear lenses. So wish i had a sand blaster about now start the strip back but must finish 1 car before i can fully start another.

have had a chat to that seller about the box. an he got it to go in behind his m20b23 but as said selector was a issue an his drive shaft was too short. by only the smallest of margins.

ive had a few arguments/discusions with un-mechanicly minded people in my time saying bmw's are front wheel drive 4 cylinders or v6 4wds an people saying factory m10 e30 318s are 2litre motors. or car dealers labelling 318i's as 320i's its becoming a rarity for me to come across a person that actual knows there car vs doesn't know there car and just get in turn key an hope it doesn't fail kind of person
