Indeed! Radiator arrived this morning: Colleague of mine picked it up from the front door and quoted the Fedex guy "This guy gets a crap load of packages!"

Almost done... :-). High likelihood of picking up tomorrow. Jason (from Prima, who did most of the work on the car) did an awesome job. Just got the rear bumper to fix up and repaint from an old hit n run on the car (doing that today). And also painting the foglight cover area black (like it was before). Really liking the brake duct mesh. Should look better once the foglight covers are blacked out. They kindly sanded and repainted my old grills since the plasti-dip came off it. Although, I bought some new ones so they'll try and put those on to see if they fit well. Also, the Xenons worked, plug n play.

Went to the shop today to check on the car. Headlights hooked up. Looks like no errors are thrown with the Xenons, seems to work fine. Didn't get a chance to see if the auto-adjusters are working, but hoping they are. Will check when I get the car back tomorrow.

That wood trim is my 520i. I barely drive it so no point . My 530 has the brushed alum trim.

I bought these because I was going to be getting some new wheels. I am no longer getting new wheels, so need to sell these. Better grab them cause it's a bargain. A set of 4 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx with about ~4mm tread (some of them have 5mm at the center). Size is 245 40 R18 and came off an e39. Happy to sell the entire set of 4 for $300 to bimmersport members - feel free to make another offer as Id like to get rid of these soon. Will put on trademe if no one's interested here.

Would that mid section fit an e39?

Selling a single OEM Hella driver side headlight for the e39. These are the facelift halogen ones with the clear indicators that retail for something around $800-$900 each. In absolutely mint condition, bought brand new couple years ago. Lens and coat are crystal clear (see pics). Will come with bulbs as well as moulding. This comes out of a car with the auto-leveling system - not sure if that matters in terms of compatibility. Selling as I've replaced my headlights with Xenons. I think $300 ono should be a fair price for this. Will put it up for slightly more on trademe. Not selling the passenger side headlight as it has a damaged lens and crack in the housing.

Found a German made torque wrench @ parent's place that my dad's been using since 1970. Feels like an antique!

I have a big box set of tools somewhere, will have to see if I have everything. Might be missing a clamp for the piston (or can i just use my finger to compress ??). This kid is able to do it (with his Dad's help), so I'll be embarrassed if I can't!

So on a scale of 1-10 (1 = change tyres, 10 = idk.. rebuild the whole engine), how mechanically inclined does one have to be to replace pads and rotors on an e39? I have all these parts and don't want to waste the chance to get hands on with the car. I'm not that mechanically inclined but very very keen to be able to learn how to do a lot of this DIY. Guess im missing a lot of tools and stuff, and probably guidance..

Grills, air filter and vanos gasket have arrived. Almost there. Got the right grills this time too.. phew.

I'll give it a shot at trying to sell them this weekend.. I actually see some X1 owners around my workplace. Should leave a salesman note on their car ;-). In other news, some more toys (oem ATE rears): Still awaiting 2 more packages with the grills, afe filter and vanos gasket and radiator.

Are you only open to swaps or buying too? There is a chance I might be selling my e39 msport 17s in a couple of weeks, if you're interested in buying and not in a hurry .

Lol oh man. Well at least you got it for a good price. But without inspecting it.. *tutt* *tutt* :-). I guess you are legally obliged to go through with it? Or perhaps you can negotiate with the seller if you really didn't want it.

Just wondering how much these are worth? In case I want to sell mine at some point. They are the staggered setup (I believe 17x8 front and 17x8.5 rear?) genuine e39 m-sport alloys, with a bit of curbing on two of them.

Went over to Prima today to give them my Xenons and the new radiator hoses. Looks like they've successfully fixed up the chassis rail and gave a print out showing everything to spec - so am happy that turned out well! Now's just some painting and fitting left. Estimated to be done by next Wednesday.

Nope, turns out somehow it was my fault (I checked my order history and it looks like it was). I have no idea how i managed to select e84 grilles while looking for e39 parts lol. Yeah was thinking about painting - that would require sanding the chrome off though i'd assume. Ordered the gloss black ones anyway, and judging by the quality of these e84 ones, they should look pretty sweet assuming they make a decent fit.

Hmm yea. Although I've definitely seen some dipped grills that look alright. Nevertheless, have ordered some e39 blackout grilles - triple checked that it was e39. Also ordered vanos sealing gasket and an afe drop in air filter (only cause I've been intrigued on what sound differences it might make if any.. they were pretty cheap anyway). Oh and it turns out the grilles ECS sent me are e84 grills. Wonder what the chances of selling e84 grilles are heh. Anyway, hopefully parts should arrive by end of week. Car repair is still in progress @ Prima meanwhile.
