Obviously it is not going to be much use on a standard engine. But maybe on an engine with cams and has been built for top end, then it would be an advantage.

Unless you are looking for peak hp and dont care about mid / low range.
-
Yep, just swap the toothed crank wheel over and the bracket for the sensor. And plug it all in. And get a 2.5l ECU (ive heard theres no difference between the 2.5l and 2.0 ecu, and its the injector sizes that are different, but I cant be 100% sure)

Or just convert the pfl to motronic 1.3. Easy as.
-
Ive seen one with an RB30 in it that was supposed to be a drifter.

If you are pulling it off a car it is pretty easy to see how it works and how it comes apart. So it should be just as easy putting it in another car.

The outlet flanges sit on different angles, is it easy to remove the exhaust with them like that? Or is that why the studs are cut shorter on one of them? -
Cost me $80 to get my cat cut out and replaced with some pipe. took 15 mins.

I reckon they probally get pretty hot, ive had mine hot enough that the pads were actually smoking, and I couldnt even touch the wheel because the wheel was so hot.
-
They were an option, the buyer got to choose if they wanted it or not.
-
They have a fuel sender in each side. They both need to be plugged in for the gauge to work. My e30 definatly has the one pump.
-
Still has valves tho.
-
They have, its called the rotary Or get a 2 stroke
-
Oh ok, Ive never come across any facelifts with the external pump, there is a fuel filter there instead usually. But if it has wires going to it, it will be a pump.
-
Its a 89 it only has the one pump in the tank, they dont have an external pump like the pre facelifts.
-
Its just the layshaft bearings. Its all good. Im running a sprung carbon kevlar disc.
-
You kick my dog mate?

When it isnt starting, try giving the top of the fuel pump a whack while you are cranking it. Part of the commuter (?) (part the brushes run on) was burnt out on mine, and everynow and then when you turned it off it must of stopped on the burnt out part and wouldnt run, if you gave the tank a whack it was enough to jarr it and it would start going again.

Righto then, engine hoist needed.

Looks like the oil pump is in the timing cover of these. Should be easy as, as long as the sump clears the subframe.
