Not sure it has been mentioned but being a 12 year old car with those Km's I would check the tamper dot. It is a little red dot that is displayed on the dash just after the Trip KM's in the bottom center. If it is not there you should be ok. If you are getting the car checked by a workshop some shops have the GT1 system that can talk to all the systems to determine if there is any KM mismatches.

I have been wondering what would be involved if at all possible to upgrade from the M62B44 to the M62TUB44. Ray threw me the keys to his E39 the other day. And after a short drive around the block I realised how much better the TU is. The specs are so close but the drive is totally different. My car feels like a filthy old drey compared. More Torque, Torque more usable, peak power in a better place and more responsive. I can't imagine the drive by wire system would be that easy to integrate though.

Bugger. Racepro. Will be a 300% margin on everything. I wanted some of the thicker stuff so I can put my hand on the tunnel without getting burnt. I might wrap the exhaust to help with the melting shoes and get some of that 3M tape for the inside of the tunnel. Some of the Nimbus light material would be great between the exhaust and body. Hey guys. Just wondering where some local Auckland places are for purchasing some interior heat mat/shield things. Similar to this stuff http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/heat_shield.php Or this stuff http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/lava_mat.php Reason why is I have no interior heat shielding and my exhaust heats up the floor (through the external shield) and melts my boot or shoes. Also wanted to fit some around the gearbox tunnel to keep the heat out a little. Wanting Car specific stuff. The generic stuff I found was a bit too bulky.

Ditch the SR and go for a cheaper 1JZ. More power, more reliable, cheaper. This is coming from someone who has owned various SR powered 180's for the last 9 years.

Nice I lived 2 mins around the corner in Shepards Bush Massive. Seen the van a few times driving around. It drove past my mate while he was getting into his car. Looks like he is breaking into it though.

Take it into Autolign on Carbine Road. Had mine done there last week. They can also supply you with new bushes. Gave them my entire subframe to get all the rear bushes done.

Boyce will have his up for sale sometime soon as he plans to go overseas. Not sure on dates though.

Car did end up looking great. But I think they hid some Rangi with some paint. But I think every E30 in NZ has got some Rangi of some kind. Hell I know some series cars that are held together with cable ties Makes it easier to put bits that fall off back on. Not a fan of the sound though. Like the BM 6 sound more.

Have sent a Cayeen, E55 and S55 through Final Touch. They did a brilliant job and their workshop over the shore can cater for anything not able to be done paintless. They had all sorts of high end cars there getting work done.

Yes. VW's and any Mitsubishi. But thats the cars ugliness surpassing the sweet sweet awesomeness of the RS's. A very hard feat.

I plan to build an E21 for the open class at some stage. If it ended up looking like that I would be very very happy.
