It does look like it has sat outside a lot. And the steering wheel suggests much more than 80K miles, though the tamper dot is not on.

https://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/p/penrite-penrite-hpr-5-engine-oil---5w-40-5-litre/14911.html Penrite HPR-5 is 50% off 5L @ 48.99

Damn. Shame I missed that. Would have been a good donor for the race car.
-
Seen it posted in a few places online now. It is causing some outrage. And so it should.
-
I'm not surprised at all. I feel like if you were not a confident driver you would let it dictate where it thinks you should be. That could be dangerous.

I go with a smaller crowd now. Wairarapa Windscreens. They have been great. I think they have replaced 5 of my screens now thanks to our terrible roads and hordes of logging trucks. Find the small guy who takes pride in their work. And yeah use the forum to get positive and negative reviews. The data scrapers love it.

Cost to get it done is pretty crazy these days. And I have only seen one iS in this condition in the last 10 years for sale. And it was listed at over $30K.

I just had a look rather than relying on my memory. www.classiccover.co.nz 2007 130i Estimated KM's per year = 20,000 Sum Insured: $10,000 Excess: $250 Premium: $775.43 There could be some discounts in play as I have 5 cars and 2 motorbikes with them. I have also had a claim with them due to rock damage on the Merc. And am about to claim again for my poor bumpers witch got split by a ute parking into me. Double Edit. They also cover my race car. Under a "Laid Up" scheme. It covers the car in the garage with all its spares and even while being transported to events. And it's less than $300 for over $40K worth of stuff.
-
It's because you haven't fitted the carbon intake in those photos. How does Classic cover work in this situation? I just called them and said my E55 was worth the higher end of what is around and they accepted it no questions asked. Even my 130i is insured for like $9500 through them. Obviously I am paying a premium they are happy with to cover that high.

I keep looking at this. 1992 BMW 535i African E34 | Trade Me Motors Very tidy and comes with some nice bits. Including a manual conversion.

Has to be OEM for Merc. I'm trying to find the independent mobile dude that fixed my E30. But none of the ones I can find ring any bells. Was in like 2014...

Ah that sucks man. The paint would drive me nuts. When the people can't see the value so do sh*t work. Smith and Smith Wairau also did the most sh*t job on my old E30 I have ever seen on a car. Broke all my window trim and tried to replace the seal with the cheapest Universal seal ever. It whistled, it leaked. They pooed up any gaps with copious amounts of sealant. Another company fixed it all up and my insurance company paid for it. I think my dad also had trouble with them. Replacement Merc windscreen was of such poor quality he ended up claiming again and had Mercedes replace the screen with an oem one.

I think the Van would have been the better option in the end. The lane assist on the Yaris was actually taxing. I had had enough of driving it by the time we got back to the airport on Sunday. Just the constant adjustments it tries to make to your steering. Always attempting to place you in the center of the lane even if it doesn't make sense. It kind of made the entire drive twitchy. My wife doesn't usually get motion sickness but she was getting it with this car. I actually googled if this was common. AI told me it is. Yes, some Toyota Yaris Cross owners find the Lane Keep Assist (LKA) or Lane Departure Alert (LDA) system to be overly sensitive or aggressive. This can manifest as the system providing excessive steering input or beeping when the driver is intentionally or unintentionally drifting within the lane. Fortunately, the system can be adjusted or disabled through the vehicle's settings.

Don't go for the mystery rental car at Budget. Was meant to be "Something" that had at least 4 doors and 5 seats. In my mind anything that had that combo would be okay to take to the coromandel for the weekend. They gave me a 8 seater Van.. A clapped one too. No way was I driving that absolute turd over the ranges. So paid extra for a Yaris Cross thing. Don't go for the Yaris Cross thing from Budget. Full of tech that barely works. I spent the entire trip fighting the lane assist. Which struggled the entire trip even on the motorway. Able to turn the beep off but the auto steering was locked out. Cruise control was so jerky trying to keep to the set speed it made my wife feel sick. Just not a nice handling car at all.

Phones have not impressed me since about 2016. I just went from a work supplied Samsung S21 to a S25. I noticed near no changes. Maybe the UI is a little more annoying? Meh.

Haha I have actually sold 2 of my 3. I just have my OG LCI left. Though I have plenty of other cars :s Good thing is that Neglected E87's are not actually too bad to bring back to life. My Black manual turned out to be an awesome car.

Yeah I have seen a guy throwing wheels over the fence at PAP. So anything nice is removed. Do they still have those manky cobra chickens guarding the place in Mangere? Loved being hissed at while your under a car pulling parts.

64,000kms... I know PickaPart often get most of their info wrong. But that would just be insane if it was true.
-
Link doesn't seem to work. Which pick a part was it at?
-
Not bad. Under the threshold too. Or does Schmiedman collect GST?
-
I'm just over the hill from you. We could look at combining orders to save on shipping. I am guessing each order would be over the $1K GST threshold anyway. I want to buy them asap.

Has anyone been happy with just replacing the old factory Sachs shocks with new factory Sachs shocks? My commuters are old and harsh. https://spareto.com/products/sachs-shock-absorber/317-566 or https://spareto.com/products/bilstein-shock-absorber/22-144256 I don't really want to go to an expensive kit for this car. Just a refresh that doesn't flop from side to side over the Remutaka and can handle driving through the beautiful roads of Carterton..

The 640D would be my pick. It was an option right? https://www.facebook.com/share/18on6YQHfe/ -
Awesome. Good to hear you sorted it. The relay may have had too much current drawn through it at some stage. It can cause the contacts to arc and build up little bits of metal which can catch or be so close that they touch when there is vibration present. I have just been dealing with this at work. Found a 100-150mA draw that was being caused by this relay being both closed and open. This is super magnified as the relay is only about the size of your little finger nail. But you can see the build up.

Meh. 130i Manual money.
