Cheers all, will have a look in the weekend. My old E30 had a leak from the tail light. I think the foam seal around it was f**ked.
-
Na they are just covering their arse incase some f**ked yank decides to sue them after getting the arse out and hitting a lamp post or whatever, and not being warned about it. As if they would read the owners manual anyway Interesting that it doesn't say that in the 525 manual Even tho it has caught me out a couple of times. Unexpected oversteer

I used mothers black restorer on my old E30. It bought up the mirrors, grille and lip spoiler real good. I've got that CRC silicon sh*t for the tyres, but was told the tyres will go brown after regualer use. Its too shiney anyway, and after a bit of driving in the wet, it all comes off . I prefer tyre paint for the tyres.

What an awesome site. I've given up on buying Autotrader now, all they have is new crap, pages of Toyotas, Commodores, E36s etc. GoAuto isn't much better. There was a mag, Prestige and Classic a few years ago, same company as Autotrader, with the car enthuist type in mind, bugger its gone.

Yea today after cleaning the car both the driver side and passenger side floors was wet, moreso in the passenger, it looks to be running down the firewall and the corner of the trans tunnel then forming up at the bottom, on the passenger side anyway. At first I thought it was collant from the heater, but haven't had that on for about 3 weeks, and its been dry up to today. I read on another forum that it could be due to water tracks being blocked in the sunroof area? I can't see that causing water to leak from behind the dash/firewall though. Any thoughts? Cheers.

Yeah, on some corners where I got the 318 spinning, I can't with the 525. Unless its wet Would hate to think about the normal 325is.But in the 525, the M20 doesn't have enough balls to spin both the back wheels, in the dry. The LSD has more use to me getting out of mud etc. :mosh: Saved my arse a coupla times from getting bogged.

Good to see some real cars showing a poser how its done!!! LOL at the number plate too.

Cats do the best job of keeping them away. And if they do come near, watch em get tortured. Gotta keep a cat occupied I suppose. Most of their life consists of sleeping and grooming hah

I went into Page and asked how much an inspection II and cam belt would be. All up around $850. I'm still hoping to get an E32 750 soon. Then I'll have two of the bastards to spend money on *shudders* Better than anything Jap or Aussie tho- worth the costs :mosh:

Don't have a job... Nah, I'm not a dole bludger, still at college/high school. Will probably go to the army or navy next year.

I got about 50 1:18 scales Burago and American Muscle cars, but I only collect Biante/Auto art now. From them I've got Falcon XA GT Coupe XY GT Falcon Torana XU1 Brock A9X Torana Brock HT Monaro Brock Torana SLR 5000 HG Holden Monaro two E49 Valiant Chargers and an E30 M3. Those 10 models above has sent me back about $2400 in the past two years :mosh: f**king expensive hobby

Maybe we should have an online competiton of some sort round the ring, in a car of choice. Make it rwd tho. I'll clean all you biatches up :pimp: Yep, the MX5 and 1 series were perfect cars for learning on the ring.

I thought that all E36 6cyls had vanos (M50?). A manual E30 325i would be one of the best sleepers out there. Especially if its looking like sh*t.
-
Jeeeezus, for an E30?Gawd damn stealers. Might be getting a pre purchase on a late 80s S class V8 Benz soon - 90 bucks for an hour, a bit more advanced/coplicated than an E30 too. Probably best to take it to a Euro garage tho.
-
No worries now. A bit of muscle and it finally came out.

The engine was burning oil from day one, the dealer told him it would all bead into place after some miles under its belt, sounds like the same story of the early LS1s Maybe thats the reason why they went for a new engine, dunno, I'll ask later, either way, they didn't tell him the truth.

I've taken off the black strips around it (three parts), and have undone the four bolts behind them, but it doesn't wanna budge. Anyone know if I am missing something? I read one another forum that it should all come off after that, but I'm a cautious type and don't wanna try too hard and break something. I looked in the boot area behind the trim, and couldn't find any bolts there, unlike the E30s. Cheers

My dads mate bought a new Holden Rodeo last year. About 5 weeks ago the engine blew up, and its been at W&A Holden since. They told him bullshit about the replacement engine up to last week, saying it wasn't in the country, and only found out about the bullshit being told until he rang Holden in Auckland, as the engine had been sitting up there for three weeks After he found that out, he went around to Nissan, took the salesman around to Holden, and got a trade-in price on a new Navara That'll teach the bastards.

Don't f**k your customers around

Thats one of the best colours for E30s imo. Are you gunna get that back on the road Ryan?

Hmmm lest see. FPV Typhoon, $69,990, 270kw, 550 odd nm torque. BMW 318 auto. $73,990 Power and torque too emabassing to quote. Sorry, but in this country, no other car company offers better bang for bucks than Holden or Ford. Maybe Subaru, but yeah, if you want broken transmissions. The old stuff is sh*t, but you gotta remember they aren't like a BMW or Merc. Try an equal year Camry, Diamante Maxima, or any jap car and they will be just as bad (okay, the interior of the jap cars won't be falling to bits). I was reading about production class racing in the 1990s, VN SS Commodore were posting faster laps around Bathurst than E34 M5s, iirc Jeremy Clarkson likes the Monaro so it must be good

What I find lacking in car shows is actually seeing cars in action, not talking, or driving thru a fuggin supermarket :gay: The Dodge pick up round the track was good, but too short. Tiff did the best supermini test on 5th Gear. Took little Hyundais and Suzukis etc round a go kart track, making good use of the hand brake, and lighting up the inside front wheels out of the hairpins  Then made a conclusion on what all consumers would take into consideration when buying. Thats what we need more of. Much better than watching cars driving 50kmh down the road, or out of a carpark, like last night.

No top of the line would be the 400hp one, while the 300hp can be had for about 40 grand in the v8 excutives. f**k, if theres going to be a comparison, at least be fair.
-
Thats good to know Suppose the safest thing would be to take it to a dealer for pre purchase inspection, I would think there would be bugger all people/garages who know these cars. Probably the most advanced in their day. Thats de-tuned to 300hp Comparing a top of the line BMW to an Aussie bread and butter car is pointless anyway.
