  1. Last two weeks of the school holidays I moved furniture at NZ Van Lines, to maintain the cars. Such a sh*t job, made me appreciate how good school is lol. Enjoying it while it lasts. f**ksake, non of the vans had em, and half the driveways in Wellington snake up a hill, making it impossible to get an open wheeler up in the wet = carrying sh*t like fridges down driveways
  2. Could be a wise buy, with increasing gas prices, but if you don't wanna get smoked by petrol Pajeros and Patrols, I'd spend that $25k on an E36 M3. Probably get the same luxury features too. Good to see someone whos interested in a manual E46 :thumb:

    My 335i

Nice. that thing must fly... when its got traction :mosh: But you wanna know what sounds better than 330i (not the new E90 sh*t)... 350i :mosh:
  4. Do you have a pic of your car?I think theres a silver E30 318is on trademe atm, that has been on there for atleast 6 months. He wants about 7 grand. Anyone know if they are a match for an M325?
  5. haha, just noticed, look at the nurse in the background, looks like shes got a porno stance going on. Quite appropriate.
  6. Too right. The E34 would get about 700km to the 80l tank The Mercedes would be about 500km to the 90l tank But ya know, SUVs are far more 'evil'
  7. You might have seen that bikies oppose the type of barrier which has been recently put up between Pukerua Bay and Piecock, as it will just slice them if they come off.
  8. f**k, gutted man. Never know whats round the corner Looking on the bright side, its an opportunity to get something better, sounds like you have
  9. wow, those are some awesome braking distances. Autocar are never that quick with acceleration tests (quicker than Wheels, anyone would be), but I'm guessing they were extra careful with a private car?
  10. Gotta love cleaning E34s, mostly because of the lines on them. Especially that one
  11. Yesterday I bought a Mercedes 560SEC. ~$120 to fill up on 96 And it'll go thru it way quicker than any E34 :mosh: Might post pics later. BTW, I have actually found that it is possible to drive on relatively (long) flat surfaces in 5th in my 525 at around 50 with the economy gague at around 6-8 l/100km (if its accurate). Considering the 535 has a sh*t load more torque, it should do it easy.

    Another E39

10 years on, and the interior would still be acceptable in a new car

    just for you mike

I was in town today and saw what looked like a hard riding luxury Japanese import from Nissan I think, tricked out in all this pimp bullshit. f**k, its as bad a rice. Save the old bimmers and mercs before these f**king wannabies wreck them. My dads mate whos a classic car owner and enthusiast goes mental when he sees an old Impala or Caddilac gone to waste. Don't balme him.

    water leak

My E34 is leaking water at the bottom of the windscreen area and is building up in the passenger footwell. I riped out the seat a couple of weeks ago and pulled up the carpet (the foam was drenched) but to get out the carpet, it looks like the centre console, front seats and heater will have to come out. I asked a couple of months ago and got pointed towards the sunroof drains, and i have cleaned them out, but the bastard still leaks. Can't find anything on other BMW boards/sites about it (common problems only point to sunroof drains too), and don't wanna rip out the interior if its something simple. Any thoughts? Cheers.
  15. Haha yeah, cheers. My old man knows the old fella at Antonel and Park in Newtown, who also does my E34. They've been doing Mercs and Bimmers for years, so I'll be taking one to them maybe on Tuesday. Cheaper than the $tealer anyway (timing chain replacement quote at the dealer for the big V8 models was $1600 as opposed to $400-500 in Newtown :gay: )
  16. Looks like a Pontiac GTO grille on a Buick Riveira body.
  17. Gutted, same thing happened to me last night. Spend ages this morning getting it off, but I should have whipped out the cutting compound to make the job easier. Since my car is white and dirty at the moment I'm not too sure if its marked, but it needs a good respray so I'm not all that worried.
  18. 85-91 500 or 560 SEL, or SEC anything around $10k preferably in the north island, service history would be good. cheers
  19. Did anyone see that 5th Gear episode on motorway pile ups where that W126 Benz went ploughing into those Euro shitbox Fiats or similar? Bigger is better :mosh:
  20. I just went out and did a run down the motorway, but I can't find the f**king cord from the camera to the computer. Got up to 130 in 3rd before backing off, changing just before the redline in 1st and 2nd. Will try and get it uploaded later this week. Sounds good tho, for a dirty old M20 :mosh:

    Glovebox Torch

    is this a factory option?
  22. Don't forget Packard and Cadillac, some very influential makers. Especially the pre '40s ones. Some f**king beautiful cars from that period. But yeah those Mercs Hitler went round in are awesome, for that reason alone  Cadillac are finally on the rise after about a 40 year downfall, but they will never be what they once were, just like Mercedes
  23. Yeah funny that, people need to realise that the Japs make the best cars in the world now Its not the '80s anymore, where Germany kicked everyones arses. The engine in the Mini is from Chrysler
  24. Now Now, no need for that, BMW have some quality issues too ( every car manufacter has good & bad times if you look back over history)BMW have had their fair share of recalls & BMW NZ have done a few "BUY BACKS" because of this!! I,ve seen a brand new BMW with less than 200km ( yes, that not a type-o , 200km ) that had broken down for the "3rd" time & I mean broken down, not just a fault with something but a tow truck job!!!!............... , imagine how that owner was Ive also seen brand new cars( note plural ) , not even sold yet on their second trans Ive, seen all sorts of, shall we say "interesting" recalls over the years , most have been keeped very hush hush, & some that would shock.........uummmmmmm..........maybe that Honda isnt so bad after all...............nah..........its still an Honda Fair enough, like you said everyone makes a sh*t model, but I haven't inspected any new BMW model so I didn't/can't say anything. Unlike the E Class. It has helped cause MB to slip from #1 position on consumer ratings to ~15 in the US. The car itself is ranked at around 35 IIRC. Do you think the W124 was like that? Don't forget the fact it looks Asian too. As for the new M5, if ya can, get Tiffs review of it. Awesome.
