I think you'll find your right Cale, My front kit is hartge, as you know
-
lol no its not normal But their easy to crack, so its just been fixed.
-
In my opinion the kit is worth more than $800 - They are getting increasingly hard to find, and soon there wont be any good examples left available.

Thanks Glenn, I will keep this in mind for next time! I didn't read this till just now as well! I had to go further to drop it off, I couldn't believe that NO ONE would take the oil, not even the council. Pretty slack, how many people are hobby mechanics? There should be easy drop off places throughout auckland in my opinion, or the council should be happy to accept it, I'm sure that would stop alot of people just pouring it down their drains. Hi-Tek: I tried the refuse station they wouldn't take more than 8 litres, and when I complained they gave me a 20 litre limit, with 45 litres of oil to ditch I didn't want to go through the hassle of two trips. PLUS they wanted PROOF that I lived in the waitakere region!!!!!!

Thanks bro, I wish I'd read that before I went out the door, just been to manukau to drop it off, funnily enough the guy who took it off me owns one VERY nice 745i with some big 8 series wheels on it! And like you said, other people would I'm sure give up at some point and just pour it away, not me though, mr responsible I am

Be a man Ryan, just drive it on the rim.
-
Aim anywhere from $1000 to $2000 I'd say.
-
Brilliant! Have called them and will go there tomorrow to drop it all off! Cheers.

This is driving me insane, I have around about 40 litres of engine oil from various engines and oil changes, its 2 years worth of build up and I NEED to get rid of it, NONE of the local garages take old engine oil, the council doesen't even dispose of more than 20litres and its driving me insane!!!!! Where do I take the damn stuff!?
-
Haha I got this email as well Gold.
-
Ahaha afraid not Thanks, I'm happy I got it sorted in the end.

Could probably ship the block, housing, radiator for something like $100 from depot to depot via meinfreight? I can check it out for you on monday if you are serious. If you want the other stuff, like alternator, power steering pump, hoses all ancilleries and the head etc etc (this includes thermostat housing and radiator you can have the entire lot for an extra $50. PM to let me know. Alex.

Good that you weren't hurt! Now if it was a white Chorus van that would confirm my conspiracy theory. I swear they are everywhere! Looked like a bloody nice e28! Was much salvageable? How bad was the motor etc?
-
Mine cost $200 because I only chose to do the outside, but thats because the inside was only ONE shade of silver darker than the rest of my car and its almost impossible to notice.

This guy just does not give up.

I have an m20 block and head lying around. Their not together at this moment. One of the head bolts snapped off and will need extracting (not hard) otherwise its perfect. Never blew smoke, ran very well, and only did 160 thou ks. Its also pre-facelift so jet-tronic, like the block the 520i had? (with dizzy attached to block) Your in welly though, so may be a bit far, but its yours for $150 plus postage if you want it. (I had a set of mags shipped up from greymouth for not much and this is physically smaller) Let me know. Can supply thermostat housing as well, I also have a radiator in very good nick.
-
Unless its on an m3, I think they just dont look right. I have yet to see one that looks really good on a non m3. Tech the car out, cheaper, and will look better on the car than a replica m3 kit ever would!
-
I love it. Congrats on the buy!

You have no idea. I was THIS close to smashing my head through a wall! Happy to be driving it again

Well everybody it looks as though I have sorted it out. I held off on posting this until I'd be a little more sure. Yesterday after a trip to see Glenn, I got home to try a few things. Re-routed one of the hoses which was pinched, tested the thermostat was opening and at the correct temperature and spent a long time filling up the cooling system properly and trying to get it bled as much as possible BEFORE I turned the car on. Car bled first try and have had no problems since. Drove last night for about 1 hour and 45 minutes constantly checking and re-checking everything, today I braved a long drive in all conditions, hard, soft and motorway. No problems, have driven a good 150ks and have had no issues. So, as far as I can see it was a bad airlock, the thermostat that WAS in the car wasn't opening and the one I've replaced it with is working perfectly, plus its genuine bmw. Problem solved! Thanks for all your input everybody, thank god it turned out to be something simple.

There will be nothing to look out for in this car. When Will owns a car it gets treated right, it will be the best buy around. Believe it.
-
Why dont you just not speed? lol
-
I was at Glenns today and I saw the car up on the hoist and had a good look. Its such a shame that it has to go out like this, it would be a fantastic car and has a HUGE amount of goodies in it! I couldn't believe what I was seeing with that parcel shelf, not to mentioned the wof issues.
-
I have tried to flush it out with a hose yes. No avail.
-
Ok, I did not know it did this thing then too. I thought it was just the one leak. Why would it run well for one day and then this problem surface? Any ideas? By technicians what do you mean? Where would I go to have this check performed? I would rather know EXACTLY what the problem is rather than guess and shoot in the dark. What else could I have done to hinder the flow of the cooling system this badly?
