The reason its running rough is outlined in your post.

You don't see this everyday coming up for sale

Ive never understood Alpina's need to strap Auto's to a lot of their "tuned" cars. Why! -
LOL yes ether was what I meant WTF was I on when I was writing that!

A worn cam can affect idle yes. I would work your way down to that. Rule out the things you can do yourself first.

Have a welder? Tack it up for the cruise then replace ASAP. Or just drive to the nearest mechanic and have him weld a bead across, just for added support?

There's two pumps (depending on your setup) an intank pump, situated... inside the fuel tank, under the rear seat. Although not all use the dual pump setup. And an external pump just in front of the left rear wheel arch. Follow the loud noise coming from that area Looks good Graham.

Start with the hose cling from the top of the rocker cover, they are a common cause for vacuum leaks. All five million of them all break at some point. There is a spray you can buy, ember I think it is, spray it on your hoses, the leak will suck it in and change the tone of the engine, pin pointing where the leak is. Ray (hellbm) told me this many years ago, never actually tested it out though. Good luck. Also, not all cars came with a lambda/oxygen sensor. Check if you even have one first.

I see I see I see... very good, as you were then!

Hate them, but don't fear them. My old dentist removed the wrong tooth by accident (good job!) She basically had one foot on my face and pliers on my tooth and pulled as hard as she could, first slip, second slip, third time lucky. Haven't been back since :|

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your purchase! Ellipsoids are a type of headlight found on Facelift e30's such as yours. They are the later type of headlight, and use a projection system. "Smoking" is a method of darkening, part of or the entire headlight for nothing but aesthetics, nothing wrong with it, I personally like the look. They are not factory however. You can purchase them direct from Hella, or there are several DIY versions around also.

That's good news! Where are you going to have the repair carried out?

The real test will be the SIDE of the hedge... I wonder.

Glenn is correct, I never mentioned the bike was purchased there. McMillan simply honoured BMW's international recall even though the recall was over 30 years old. Dad orders a couple parts through them occasionally.

My fathers 1970's BMW r80/7 S Bike had a front wheel recall in 1977 or something like this. He tracked all the info down from the states, as apparently once the recall is issued it wont be withdrawn. He went to team McMillan to try his luck, armed with all the paper work and official looking things from the states, team McMillan took one look at him and turned him down. A few calls to a dealership in the states, team McMillan came back to the table, honored the recall and had a replacement wheel shipped from the states!!! The recall was due to cracks appearing in the front alloy wheel. I thought it was pretty cool, team McMillan were really good about it once they had confirmation.

Spotted yesterday nice facelift m325i tech2, similar colour to mine in avondale. And a damn nice pre-facelift m325i in red just about 20 minutes ago, followed me down atkinson, flashed your high beams as you turned away! My car must have looked ridiculous with around 300kg worth of works shopping crammed in every crevice.

Further update. The saga continues. I have now resolved the issue with the ping. My ping is now fairly good all over the world except in Europe. I have since learned that Orcon are using asianet as their fibre obtic carrier and they are having constant issues with them (with lines to Europe). According to the technician they are currently working on moving to a different carrier. The problem with the speeds goes on. My speeds have gone right back down to 5.35MB/S down. My busted phone jack, which was fixed by me, worked for a short time at brilliant speeds. Then slowed down to abismal speeds ( 1 - 2 ) and then stopped working entirely. This jack can't even pick up an ADSL signal anymore. I have added line insurance and maintenance to my bill, and soon a chorus techy will be out to sort these jacks out. One of the many tests I ran was to use a different router. I used my parents shitty old D-link, which I bought for their house almost 2 years ago. It was one of the first to offer ADSL2+ connections. Plugged this into the jack giving me 5.35mbps down, and voila, back up to 8 - 9 mbps straight away. Plugged back in the Orcon homehub (Siemens gigaset) and the speeds slowed right back down. New router was in my hands within 24 hours (damn fast!) Plugged it in. No change.... So this is where I am at now, the technician is speaking with the line engineers (or what ever their called) and I am getting a call back on monday, they will set up a 24 hour monitor on my line to see what's going on. Their also looking if there are any special settings that need to be entered into the Siemens to get it functioning correctly on my line. Why the hell did a dlink get good speeds?! So far Orcon have gone out of their way to keep me as a customer, being very helpful and calling me at every step to keep me informed of any changes.

Used to play lots, but due to the ping issues have stopped. Would like to start playing metal gear online again, however I just had a game on it now, and even though pings are good their still not good enough for MGO. Still in the red!

Just got off the phone to Orcon. Port reset and interleaving switched off. NZ Ping. Aus ping. US Ping. Swiss ping. And finally, speed test. (very) Slight drop in speeds, however I think this is because of the time of day, peak time for usage, as my router is reporting at over 12+mbps so I am quite happy with these improvements. Considering that I was getting the same ping in AUS as I am now getting in Europe, I am now confident I can play all over the world, as I was able to play without getting kicked out of every server in AUS this ping will suffice. It's not light speed but its MUCH MUCH better! Quite happy. Overall I'm giving a big thumbs up to Orcon, they really did their best to help me out with my issue and were friendly about it. None of "that's just how it is" bull sh*t that I've had with other ISP's. Now I will keep an eye on my connection for stability, as this is the only draw back of switching off Interleaving, or so I am told by Orcon. They will call me back and ask me how my line is.

Wow I've never even seen that site before! How did I miss that? Their prices are really good in my opinion. I can't however see a lot of the front bushings? Like sway bar links for example?

I'm hoping your right. I can currently play with the 10 - 12 people who game in NZ, YES! Speeds getting better still? router reads 12895kbps. Newly fixed jack getting much better speeds.
