It will be cooler when driving as there is cooler flowing through, and when sitting it will heat up because it is circulating warmer air etc, Mine suddenly over heated a while back and turned out to be a stuck thermostat, a very common thing to happen, take it off and clean it, it could also be the temp sensor? I'd replace the hoses if your worried about them.

Cheers Glenn, having a closer look today, im now confused as to whether the e24 even has air con, if there a tank similar to what is in my e30? (looks like a smaller fire extinguisher) somewhere? Or does it work a different way, I had a look on realoem.com but that didn't help. Cheers, Alex.

damn! how much does that cost?

On a bit of a thread rampage at the moment, but I have a question about disconnecting the AC in the e24 before I pull the motor out, would all the gas be gone by now and I can go ahead and disconnect all the pipes without worry? Or is there something I need to be careful about? Any info appreciated, Cheers. Alex.

Hey everybody, does anyone have an engine crane I could borrow? Just for a few days, possibly in the west auckland region?? There will be a box of beer exchanging hands at some point. Cheers Alex.

yeap, large case side loader, apparently rarer than the later versions, wasnt quite if that would bolt into the e30 lol!
-
really? what do you mean by back plate? This is the diff, would the ratios be way out of wack for my m20b20 though?
-
Hey everybody, I have just pulled a large case side loader LSD, from a 79 e24. (635csi) I cant be certain on ratio, however some research has dug up that all euro spec'd 635csi's which were mated to a dogleg box had a 3.07 ratio because of the 1:1 fifth gear, please correct me if I'm wrong. I'll happily straight swap for an LSD that will go into my e30 Diff is in good nick, has a bit of grime on it, just mud and dirt etc, no leaks and is in good condition. Along with this diff, a 5 speed dogleg with 1:1 fifth gear, and clutch assembly, Have everything needed for a manual conversion. Sorry for the name edited post after I made the thread. I am also after a few things for my e30, PM me for details on price and/or a possible deal. Pics below. While I'm at it, I'm parting this e24 and have most parts, if you need something I''ll check and see if I have it and post up a price. Interior pretty much totaly rotten, and alot of rust in the body. Open to BS members only at this stage. Cheers. Alex.

$600 is a cheap manual conversion... Someone was clearly smoking some strong sh*t when they painted that car.

it was only a matter of time for the slabbers.

By clamping onto the fuel line, more hydrangular fandangles will merge with the polygob-doodles to create more fluro- blob-tompamtables! See? How can you go wrong? edit: correction in the fandangle hypothesis.

Ok, so I read the article in the herald today, it all seems just a little too good to be true, its not overly priced, and the gains would be worth it in my opinion, has anyone had any experience with these? Are they worth getting? Do they really do what they claim? Thoughts? Experiences? Linkity Clickity - Fuel star site. Cheers. Alex.
