  1. Cheers guys I guess it'd be nice to be a little quicker off the line I guess so what do you all recommend? The diff is also generally worn out as it has a slow leak and needs replacing as it is, is yours a 320 or a 325 jimmy?? I find my 320 not toooo bad with power , recommendations all??? Bearing in mind I don't have $800 for an LSD
  2. Hi all, I drove the work car the other day, and its a 1.3litre carby Hyundai, it was amazingly zippy for what it was... I admit it was about 12 years new, a WHOLE lot lighter and a hatch back, but never mind it got me thinking, the 320 was definitely still quicker (thankfully), this got me thinking, I still haven't changed over the diff when I did my manual conversion from the auto 4-speed to the manual 5-speed... my question, would I be seeing better pick up in first gear if I put the manual diff in? Some people have told me automatic diffs sometimes run better in manual cars due to ratios but how true is this really??? This sounds like a dumb question to me but I just dont know as i've never really played with diffs much! Cheers! Alex. Edit: Typo

  9. Hey all, after a bit of advice, I have a fairly decent service history on my e30, but as soon as I bought it it has gone through alot of changes, and I have done things myself, have mechanics and panel beaters as friends, so can do cash deals with them, this means no invoices or receipts for alot of the work done, if in the event I want to re-sell my e30 sometime, i'd like to have a service history, but how should I do it?? Just write down what gets done?? Thats not exactly very authentic, and also, what will people who arent bimmersport members say when i've done alot of the work myself ie manual conversion. So, do any of you write up your own history or just leave it?? Or what do you do? Cheers.
  10. Hi all, a while ago I posted a topic on a 6er which went no where, but a few months later and things have developed. I need some thoughts, and opinions and well, worth really, as im thinking of buying this, It is a 197....8? maybe, 635CSi, obviously the body is shot as its been sitting for a little while, and I hear these are pretty common to rust away to hell, 5-speed manual, 98thou k's, apparently this used to be an ex-racecar, it has a boot leg gear box (as far as I can tell, ie first on the bottom left) I think it has had some work done on the engine also, My question is, what would I offer for this car?? I havent taken photos because the body is written off, its de-regd all I want is its guts, it has the racing type cloth interior, and other little bits and pieces, all in all it USED to be very tidy before it was parked up, a fault (and there are probably many) is that the water pump was on its last legs, but i'd be replacing that anyway, so.. what would I offer??? and is it worth it if the engine is in need of alot of work as there aint exactly m30's raining from the sky for spare parts, the gearbox is un-usual and sounds quite appealing, so let me know! Cheers guys, edit: also, would I recoop any money by selling of what is still salvagable??? Is there a need for these parts???
