sydwayz e30 - yeap, have centreing tool which I bought a while back for a different clutch, so no problems there, also have oil already, CamB - I'll be replacing seals, its a good thing to do anyway, I have.... clutch plate, fly wheel, pressure plate, prop shaft, gear shift cradle, (spigot bearing on the way) and I assume throwout bearing is the same as release bearing in which case I have it too, master and slave cylinders, all connecting bolts and lines but I will be renewing the bolts... im sure i've missed some parts out and im almost positive that I actually am missing one or two small things, just got all the clutch checked by my mechanic and he said their in good nick and fine to re-use, pleased with that result! edit: pedal box too obviously

Ok ladies and gentlemen, this is obviously a really really common thread, however, I just came into possesion of a complete manual conversion kit, well, im missing the spigot bearing, but reading that conversion thread by ollie im thinking $30, so thats not too bad, even the clutch plate etc is in good nick and I think its useable, this is a 240 box with all the bits, but im not sure of some things, what is it I really need to check? As far as im aware the gear box and bits came out of a working car which had been crashed , front left damage, everything looks in very decent nick and im quite pleased with it... What do I need to give special attention to? what do I need to make sure is perfect? any advice with anything before I start putting it into my car? Cheers, Alex.

hey now, ps3 aint bad at all, you have a preference generally, of u like xbox u dont like ps3, and vice versa, I have a ps3 and not a 360, because a while ago my old xbox and ps2 and about 50 games got stolen from my house and I just never went back, xbpx is good, but I think ps3 is right up there too, esp with their online gaming, for example, warhawk, although it has many flaws its a wicked game, its got everything you need in a game, tanks, jets, people blowing up and lotsa guns, features I personally like with the ps3 is the insane download speeds I get, on the pc my downloads slow and suck big hairy balls, but on the ps3, I downloaded the gran turismo concept demo, which is about 750megs in about 15 to 20 minutes, speeds like that mean next to no lag on any server which is something I like alot, another thing that will see them shooting up in ranks is the release of the ps1 games on the playstation network, $5 bux to download the classics like crash 1 and wipeout etc etc then transfer them onto your psp and thats something great right there, as for the graphics, their on par with 360 but have potential to go much further, developers simply havent been able to utilise what the ps3 is capable of, which isnt a bad thing, it just means that the ps3 has a lot longer life than the 360 where games are starting to reach the capabilities of the machine itself, thats my 2 cents,

I recently bought some parts over from the states, (a clutch for a bike) but when that came in I got stung by customs fees, on something this huge i'd imagine they'd be alot??? or did I miss something in your post? Cheers, Alex. -

This is probably the dumbest thread ever... but this is something I do regularly and I wonder... Im sitting at the lights, and my indicators are going tick tick tick, but they will NEVER EVER EVER tick in time with the indicators of the car infront of me... they will almost be in time, and occasionally tick for in time for one flash but then it shifts out of time again... why do they NEVER tick the same as another car flashes?! so yea, has anyone else ever thought about this??? I felt I needed to share this.

funny i still see hardly any bs members driving around and I do a crap load of driving,

i believe the agreement was a box??? now.. I dont consider a box any less than 32 hahahahaha... sorry, couldnt resist.

its set low becuase the under 20 limit is lower, not license class, as far as i remember your not allowed any alchohol on learners.

yea all fair points, I too have friends who've bragged about how wasted they've been and dodged cops to get home etc etc, what I think sucks are the people you hear about.. eg " man at petrol station was so drunk he passed out filling his car up with gas, his 3 year old daughter in the passenger seat" had something ridiculous like 12 previous DIC charges... wtf is this guy not doing in jail? penalties are SO slack.. its crazy, my dad had 3 of his friends get killed because the driver was drunk, they hit a pole so hard the bonnet touched the boot around the pole, in my personal opinion.. the system we have for licensing and penalties for drink driving etc need an overhaul... you can repeatedly drive drunk, but a burnout lands you $800 fine, 6 months suspension and 40 hrs community service , and im NOT saying doin buynouts is "cool" im just using it as a comparison, anyway, thats my rant lol
-
I hope this isn't to provocative for any reason, but I'm interested in what people think about this, since we are predominantly quite a young community, the social eyes and the stereo type of drink driving automatically falls towards us... What makes you not do it??? Or what makes you do it??? I personally have very grim views about drink driving and I think many people, or people around our ages think so too, why do you think this is? I thank my parents for at a very young age drilling into me how severe this issue was and would never drink drive (no matter how drunk I am) I make sure if I'm around that friends or anybody for that matter wouldn't hop into a car drunk, Do you think this problem is getting better? Do you think the plans and groups the government have put in place are helping? Is it on the incline or on the decline...? I'm interested in peoples thoughts, comments, anything really as I think its quite an important issue....
-
yup, mine does this, did it since I bought it, I originally thought it might be the diff, but its definately the auto, mine doesent do it much anymore, seems to happen less and less, but it happens most, when im going uphill, and ONLY in first gear at around 10 - 15kms, otherwise fine, im not worried as my box has been great otherwise since I got it, plus im doing manual conversion sometime in the near future, give your trans, a flush maybe? I havent done this, it may help.

E36 328i overheating and leaking all coolant??!! help
QuickSilver replied to charlie01's topic in Maintenance
mine over heated a few days back, mine was a stuck thermo stat. however.. in my quest for solutions I talked to a friend who used to have over heating problems, he got nearly everything replaced, but it still happend, turned out there was a crack in the head.. and needless to say VERY expensive to fix, id get whoever you bought it off to fix it, if you can that is, -
Thanks everyone, I got it sorted, Brent you hit the nail on the head, it was the thermostat no opening, the hose leading into the thermostat was boiling, and the hose exiting was cold lol, all running good again, Thanks all!
-
this sounds alot like whats happening cos I can hear it boiling and not going anywhere... thanks Brent ill try this first thing in the morning!
-
Yea I meant floor sorry, all dry there, fark it could be just about anything, but if it was the heater overflow, it would be only coming out once the water was boiling and over flowing wouldnt it??? And it was coming out even when the car was cold(er) and not boiling... Any other ideas?? Thanks alot btw!
-
oh and the fact my cars and house have been broken into about 4 times in total.
-
i hate it that whenever i dont have any money im forced to spend more on my breaking e30. leaving me with even more negative no moneys.
-
hmm that could be, its not hugely leaking and at idle its the same.. however could it be hugely different under pressure while driving??? like what silver fox said it mite be huge under pressure or hot... it let it heat up at idle and it didnt leak much more than cold but id imagine while driving it would increase?
-
no dampness in the passengers seat... oil is amber to brown its in need of an oil change which i was planning to do this week, the leak is weird... it seems to come out of the chassis rail just behind the front right wheel... it is definately coming out but it stopped after about 2 minutes of me looking at it, so I turned the car back on and it slowly came back.. (I think) I could be trying to be hopeful here and imagining it.. what hose if any would it be from what ive said?
-
ill go up and check oil again right now but it looked good last night when the cover was off, i'll also check the floor a point to note, I was driving around all day today, no problems what so ever, also I left it for an hour to cool, tried it again, and there seems to be a small leak, but I cant judge if thats from water dripping thats left in the engine bay etc, or if its a very slow leak, as the water level didnt drop enough for me to notice in the reservoir/tank whatever u call it... does this sound like water pump failure? water pump would show signs of dying wouldnt it? also its never once over heated... until today, after I had the valve cover off... Cheers.
