I wouldnt think school has changed, maybe a bit, but when I finished 7th form, I had learned discipline, but the key thing that I think I had been taught is respect for others, that guy in the 90's shithouse corolla doin skids and ripping up the hand break, no respect whatso ever, if you were to talk to him and ask him why he's doing it, you'd get some STUPID idiotic reply cos its cooll or something, or you'd get a defensive reply and he'd get agro. Bringing up the driving age, or introducing the aussies system as already mentioned would be effective IMO.

since were on unkown functions, i have a wheel type thingy above my radio, has 2 symbols on each side and a centre line where its in the middle, what does it do???

bottom line in my opinion, smarter people at the top (govt) less idiots at the bottom (boy racers such as the dumb ones) stricter punishments for the people who actually DO the dumb things, I like teh sound of the dad getting de merits when sonny jim with a halo above his head steals the new m5 and goes racing, youd see one hell of a turn around then. and just to add, your all wise men lol.

yea i think so to, something does need to be done, but there are ALOT of young people who have high performance cars, not always purchasing, but people who have put their work and money into their cars, etc etc, and there are people who appreciate and care for their cars, and not all they care about is, doin skids and racing down a road. go to meremere ffs!

If people look at the facts, more people die each month from accidents such as long trips, falling asleep, or most importantly, have we forgotten about the insane amount of drink drivers NZ?

Im after peoples thoughts on this, with all the stuff that happend in Tauranga, with the tragedy of someone being hit by a car in a race at 160k's, their now planning to do all sorts of things (I just watched the news) Such as, constant liquor bans in non licensed areas (kinda makes sense) Stopping masses of cars, ie boy racers congregating and dragging etc etc, but the one im most interested about, is the cracking down of selling, insuring and allowing high performance cars for younger people, how will this affect the people who have nice cars, but DONT do stupid things and get given a bad name?? insurance, stereo types??? Anyone have any thoughts???

Yea mightl IF i get it painted that is, I want to see what I can get cheapest tho, quotes are are around $320 plus. I reckon its toooo high just for a bonnet, considering ill be stripping and sanding it back myself, all they have to do is primer paint bake.
-
Hi guys, i've been reviewing my options, I haven a bonnet obviously, but it has a fat spot of primer in the front due to a dent repair, ive got 2 options, get another bonnet or get it painted, now because this is 2pak paint, its not that cheap, ive got some "alright" quotes, but would love to get a bonnet for cheaper, would obvoously have to be salmon silver, if anyone has any that their not using, please let me know, and I can pay you as soon as wednesday! And in cash! And pick up on same day! Pre-Face lift. 1988 320i e30 Salmon Silver. Cheers.

The main reason for this post is me expression how awesome the people I dealt with today were and to recommend them all to you if you go looking for these problems, I have a steal shield alarm, and the remote broke! What am i to do, I cant get into my car, i cant drive it, its f**ked, totally immobilised, after 2 hours of fiddling i managed to JUST unlock my car ONCE with the old remote, I drove to several auto sparkies, with no avail, but then went to the electrician guy behind subway in kelston, He was great! he tried everything, and then put me onto the only steal shield retailer in nz, in albany. So I drive over to albany, and go to QuickFire tech, this guy was so clued up, he took about 15 seconds to , get the new remote, tune it to my alarm, get my alarm working perfect, gave me a free manual and told me everything there is to know about my alarm, all for $60. IF you have a steal shield alarm and there is ANYTHING you need done with it, this guy is the way to go, other companies can fix alarms and get them working, but this guy is the only nz retailer and he does it cheap, Their located at, Quickfiretech 12 Tristram Ave ph. 449 1230 The other thing that happend, was my brake discs, i needed to get them skimmed BADLY, so I told my mechanic id be bringing them down in 45 mins, so he went ahead and called a skimmer for me, my elm, key snapped, so no break discs. I told me mechanic, the brake skimmer CAME to my house, lent me his tools, helped me take off my rotors, did them in my driveway in his van with his crazy machine, all for $60 bux. HIS name was, Advanced Brake Skimming. Dave Malam, 0272883636 Pt Checalier, Auckland. [email protected] They are a mobile service, but he came without booking, didnt charge extra, but let me use his tools, and took the time to speed the process up by doing the other side while i was doing one, I had a sweet as day and had such a mean as experience with these people i felt they be credited this and I should tell you guys, I recommend them for great serviice. hmm freshly skimmed brake rotor goodness, the 30 handles so good now its crazy what a change it made.

The Ten Commandments for Car Audio Noobs
QuickSilver replied to *sic's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
thats awesome advice, can I add ONE thing if im allowed.. Be careful with Multimetres and Tester lights, alot of cars easily blow fuses abd can damage wiring with these, ESPECIALLY more modern cars! I have made some mistakes like this so i thought id post that up, -

blu ray players are thru the roof, the ps3 is much cheaper than any blu ray player atm, and even thats quite pricey, yes there are HD dvds but their no where near as in your face with advertising and stuff as blu ray so u dont notice, the selection isnt as big as blun ray yet, i wonder which formatt will win in the end, im voting for blu ray since it has the jump on the competition really, not practical to get a blu ray player yet,

woow thats f**kin awesome.
