Yep very fuel efficient. Has moderate power, not heaps but enough to get you along. Motorsport 1 series are a hell of a lot better looking than the non M/S. Super stiff suspension being quite a light car but handles well!

I've done a off road 4wd course for BMW, we had multible different brands and some old jeeps and hilux and bountys etc, the best car on the day that did everything and outperformed everything else was the little old Xdrive X1 on road tyres. When BMW make their Xdrive vehicles, they make them for Xdriving. Toyota guys weren't impressed that the X1 screamed past their Hilux (which had mud slicks) going up hill, stopped then started climbing again.

That will be a weapon! Very jelly.

Ah yes I remember 1HOTM3, I think I spoke to you about it when I was looking for one. Z4M will be sick!
-
Terrible! I do like the rev counter.

Had this brand new black F30 for the last couple of days to go to Taupo in. Arrived back home today, now needs a new screen, $2000 later. Awesome car, had the 20d engine but what an engine, no other car was a match for it up hills. Don't know whose the X5 is.

10,000 on an E70 is average. If pushed hard they won't get near that. They have massive camber on the rear.
-
X5. Famous for tyre wear. Awsome trucks though. The rears are usually the first to go with extreme inner edge wear.

Very early single airbag model. Light on the steering wheel spoke. S50s are bullet proof. Cheap fun. -
Manual convert is not concidered as it will more than likely go to the mrs.
-
Ahh good ol' S50s.
-
Does anyone have, in particular Ray and Brent a good trans for a 540. May have just aquirered a mint E39.
-
That's a whole lot of wrecks.
-
Despite the not so good stuff, that's good buying. New kitchen prevents me from getting too excited.

'Probably the best looking E39 540i in NZ...'

The gold paint was sh*t and just peeled off on it's own. It's a sign of nothing. -
Haha always Glenn. Take a bit more notice than that. All the bushes were stuffed so new ones fiitted and now the shifter rod rubs on the driveshaft donut. Didn't get a chance to hoist it today. Will put up with it till monday.
-
Standard E36 shifter rod which is a factory bent rod.
-
Yep revs right out very freely. Needs to go back on hoist tomorrow though as the shifter is touching the driveshaft when in 2nd gear! With the new bushes the AC Schnitzer short shift has never felt so good.
-
Plus reinforced strut towers. Part of the body.
-
Issue sorted, was a misfitted shifter bush. My f**k up. Clearly saw it once on a hoist rather than on my back at home. My god it gets up and goes now!
-
Sounds good Mike. I too have completed the flywheel conversion project. Negative results thus far though. No 5th and no reverse, maybe to do with new shifter bushes? Over it for now.
