  1. Booked Dyno for Baseline run on Saturday, however on my drive home from work today I noticed a nasty drive line vibration, hopefully its just the Centre support bearing.. always something hehe
  2. induction sound with MAF on M20
  3. Nice Dyno Video Brent, induction sound is awesome, those E28's are cool looking old cars for sure. I don't expect big gains from mine at this stage, but its there for when I do some upgrades and it will be interesting to see what a 234,000k M20B25 makes at the wheels. I'm guessing 95kw ATW at this stage. Typically, now that the cars been converted to manual I have more interest in improving performance.
  4. I'm not sure, but if I was going to go to the trouble of an engine swap I'd go for a M52B28 or M54B30 as I think these are a lighter engine, although somehow i'd end up wishing I'd gone for an M62 V8 regardless. I'm not convinced an M50 conversion is worth all the effort, although I have no plans to do a conversion at all. My car already has a pretty much straight through exhaust, it has twin pipes all the way with no muffers or cat and then its strangled at the end with a Magoo Mufflers single pipe muffer, (for now). Ultimately I'm more interested in the improved throttle response and drive ability. I'm retaining my stock airbox (Bigger South African version anyway) and have ordered the Miller Adapter so that I can attach the MAF to it. The installation process is rather easy https://www.millerperformancecars.com/files...20GEN%20III.pdf
  5. I like this Miller youtube vid showing a stock 325is vs 325i with exhaust, miller maf and smart fan mod. Of course they made the vid, so it could be a setup.. Did the gearboot arrive ok? cheers
  6. Have just ordered a Miller MAF Conversion. Its only $350 USD, chances are the 23 year old AFM isn't performing at its best. I like the idea of improved throttle response, power wise it might not add much at all. I will get a base run on the Dyno as the car is now, install this and re Dyno without any other changes and post the results for others interested. https://millerperformancecars.com/catalogue...p;category_id=6
  7. yeah i had a good laugh when I saw that reserve..what a dreamer.

    E30 325i

Fair enough, I never owned an Evo, driven a few though, had 3x WRX's over the years 0-100 in 4 seconds is great eh Totally different cars to the old E30's of course. I'm getting old, I sold my last WRX in 2008, which was a 1997 Version 3 sti I think the Evo is a better choice, boxer engines are junk

    E30 325i

Very nice as usual.. so what's this "Other" car that's tempting you away from the mighty E30?
  10. Nice tidy original looking car there. I think the IS lip colour coded would look good if you did the bumpers too (but leave the trim on bumper black). Well at least that's what I plan on doing with mine .
  11. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-514593955.htm Looks like it could be fixed up, what do you guys think its worth in its current state?
  12. You can buy mine if you like. I got extra ones as I couldn't justify spending $33 USD to ship one $15 item over lol
  13. Heya Don Those bits come to $80 USD for the shipping, but it still works out not too bad. I'm looking forward to getting some panel and paint work done on the car, but all in good time. I much prefer the car now that its manual, makes it more of a drivers car for sure.
  14. Now trying to make a list of bits to order. Car isn't running super smooth, especially for the 1st 15mins or so of driving. So Far: Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  15. Hehe I won't really.. I'm too lazy to bother, a few years ago I did buy 2 of them from Aussie (for my 2x E30's)
  16. I might import some and make some money I think
  17. New Shift boot with plastic surround arrived.
  18. It might pay to get the car scanned, to see what fault codes come up. As for the climate control, is it only working on the full speed setting? Check the cabin filters, these are located in the engine bay back near the firewall, perhaps clogged up with leaves etc? worth checking, it could be the typical fan resistor fault, but usually that results in intermittent fan operation rather then it only working flat out. How does the car compare to the 528i? I could be tempted to get a 540i at some stage.
  19. This site lets you compare cars. Ie my car vs Prius III http://www.zeperfs.com/en/match916-3009.htm
  20. Changed oil and filter, used expensive fully synthetic oil, to see if its true about oil leaks being worse when using this type of oil, so far its fine after a good drive.
  21. Just surfing trademe and found this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-514380674.htm
  22. I wouldn't go near it, 100's of cheap bmw's for sale, plenty of better ones
