Hahah, a workmate said he saw this car and thought I might be interested in it. Sound like I wouldn't be!! He was wondering if the bonnet scoop has a purpose, but by the sounds of things it doesn't.

More funny graphs and you can make your own here too: Graph Jam

May not be your diff... could be the guibo or flex disc, the part that connects the driveline to the tranny. May I also suggest that it could be your rear shock mounts (exacerbated by the ride height of the car). Get it checked properly before you start replacing stuff on a hunch.

Pay more for a well maintained car that has some service history, you'll thank yourself when it comes to maintaining the car in the long run. Go 318 over 316, and go manual to get the most out of the wee "sewing machine" engine!

Ex-courtesy car Mirage for sale.

Good to see it has been saved from being parted out by all us vultures! Nice work on reviving the paint.... can't wait to see it repowered to 2.5, it will be a beast.

Yes, "bolt in" and yes they are different between M bumpers and non-M bumpers.
-
Meh... at the end of the day it's still an auto 320i

Have you pulled out the Service Indicator board and checked it's OK? The batteries on these die and can leak acid onto the circuit board causing havoc with the gauges.

Should be idling at 750rpm Does the engine always idle at 500rpm when cold? Or only when warm?

Unfortunately it's a buyers market at the moment.... and the M3 is a car that appeals to a small niche of enthusiasts like us! You will sell, but you just have to wait for the right person to come along. This seems to have been the case with most M cars that have sold in recent months. Be patient and don't pull your pants down on price, it's already the cheapest M3 listed on Trademe. G/L looks like a nice car and I know everyone says it, but if I had the money I'd buy it!
-
Why don't you ask him to email you some more pics? Has a tech 1 rear spoiler so could be a pre-facelift actually.
-
Ooh, nice car. There was a lengthy discussion here about it when it was listed on Trademe. I used to see it parked down Victoria Street in Christchurch quite a bit, looked beautiful. Are you from Chch too Paul?

Looking good lads... all the best flavours in one place!

^^ You'll need to change the nosepanel to do that. I have a pf/l nosepanel in B/G if you want one... although it will prob be easier to get one in Aucks. I did the opposite on my E36 because I liked the f/l look better. Car looks awesome BTW.

I'd like to see a pic of the build plaque.... according to the Alpina register these cars only came in 5 speed manual. Regardless of whether it's an Alpina or not, all the decent bits (wheels, cowcatcher front spoiler etc) have been flogged from the car long ago!
-
Certainly not an Alpina... just has the steering wheel and that's it! Looks munted TBH. Whoever's bid $3.5k is keen!
-
Good luck in your search. They're very rare. You could try Ebay Germany or in the States. BTW, they won't fit your E46 (easily) if that's what you want them for.

Step one: Sell 320i Step two: Buy 328i Unless you're doing all the work yourself it will cheaper to do the above. You may also encounter problems with the EWS immobiliser system which is coded to each car/engine to stop theft.

I've used rust converter from Supercheap followed by a good coating of fish oil. Once the fish oil dries you can paint over it with primer and topcoat if necessary. I didn't bother with paint as the rust in my case was on the inside of my metal bumpers where no one can see it anyway.

Useless post so I can still sell my sh*t.
