  1. No, sad would have been if I 'shopped her clothes out. Hmmmmm....brb
  2. Let's brighten that up a bit. there, now we can see her!
  3. You'd still have to replace the brakes/suspension etc .... 250-300 horsepower is the same no matter which engine it comes from!
  4. Mmmm hott! Hope her sister is single. I'd need a saddle but I'd jump that sh*t!

    A Big Boy's Toy

The engine in the pics is a Chevy (check the logo on the grill)... which make Holden's engines. Can't be much of a Holden fan if you didn't pick that up!
  6. All the looks of Brembos with none of the performance! Yeah!!!
  7. I've just been to the Darwin Awards website and none of those stories are listed there....even under the "urban legends" section. The real winner this year was the Priest that tied himself to thousands of helium balloons and flew away never to be seen again.
  8. There's some sick as kits on the net bro... like ones with heaps of grilles and chicken-wire mesh and holes for foglights but you don't install foglights, and some even include stick on fender vents and a hood scoop. They're sick. SICK!
  9. Welcome mate, enjoy your stay!
  10. Comparatively; BMW's are more expensive to repair than their Jap counterparts. If you're handy with a set of tools you can do a lot of maintenance yourself... if not I would advise you to buy a mechanical warranty with your car. For example a few things that went wrong with my 325i in the time that I owned it. Fuel pump failed on a trip to Hokitika: COST: $800 COST WITH WARRANTY: $250 Water pump noisy, replaced with steel impeller version: COST: $550 COST WITH WARRANTY: $250 Auto transmission overhaul: COST: $1250 COST WITH WARRANTY: $300 (excess + fluids) Driveshaft universal joints seized: COST: $450 COST WITH WARRANTY: $250 The main thing with Beemers is to NEVER skip maintenance... I know of a girl who drove her Honda for nearly 3 years without changing the oil... you do that in a BMW and you're asking for trouble! Do your research on these cars before diving into a purchase, it will pay off in the long run. Good luck!
  11. It's hard to drift a cossie... as they're 4WD...

    Turbo or V8?

Unless you are made of money, or as has been said, an awesome fabricator and mechanic... buy a car with a V8 or turbo already in it. If you do either of those things to a 318i you'll have to upgrade the suspension, brakes, do chassis strengthening to cope with the excess torque (if you go V8 route) etc etc etc. ... and at the end of the day, it's just a 318 with a V8 in it. Money... say hello to toilet. (Sorry, not meaning to be a dick... but that's just how I see it)
  13. Ray and the Stig... I'll be in touch...
  14. Sure do mate, I thought you loved your car though? What would you swap it with?
  15. Ooooh forgot about that.... added to list!
  16. With the green beast now safely in it's new Wellington home (look out for it around the Mt Cook area Welly members) I am on the hunt for a new BM. I want one of the following: E36 328i M-sport manual E30 318is E30 325i manual (Ray, I'll give you a call about your white 325iSE if you still have it) E28 M535i manual (cheers for the reminder Simon!) Budget is $10k or less I've seen everything on Trademe, Turners, Buy-Sell, Dealer mags here in Chch... I'm posting this in the hope that someone has something special that they may be thinking about selling or knows of someone with such a car. Location not an issue, I'm willing to travel. Cheers, Mark.
  17. I was going to have an early lunch... but not any more....
  18. Everyone the world over knows the All Blacks and the fact they get their name from dressing in "all black" "It's all white here" is just too obscure. When I first read it I thought why on earth did they choose that slogan? It certainly wasn't immediately obvious to me that they were talking about cricket whites and encouraging everyone to wear white to the games! Regardless of whether the slogan will be seen as racist by the West Indians (and I think it will), it is still the worst slogan I've heard in a long time!

  20. A lot of small odometer decreases are down to clerical errors: e.g the person entering the data misreads the WOF inspector's handwriting.
  21. The red car has been on Trademe for over a year (owner has been going overseas for a while now!)... I'd check it out very carefully if you were interested in it. Black 328i looks nice and don't worry too much about k's as long as it has been well looked after. As always, get an inspection done at a BMW dealer or specialist. And as has been said, be prepared to pay for maintenance, it's highly unlikely you'll own a BMW for 2 years without having to repair something. Good luck!
  22. Not quite right. There are two different displacement M52's. The 170hp 2.5 litre which is what you have. And the 193hp 2.8 litre. Both engines use the intake manifold from the 320i, this restricts the overall power of the engine but offers better lowdown torque and fuel economy than the M50. The other thing which restricts the overall power of the 323i's engine is the exhaust, which is also a part from the 320i. You won't achieve the magical 200hp figure without replacing this as well as the intake manifold. Is your car auto or manual? If it is auto you may find the M50 intake manifold conversion unsuitable for everyday driving as it increases top end power while sacrificing torque, meaning you will have to work the engine harder to access the power. From experience I can tell you this is a pain in the ass in an auto as you're constantly having to kickdown gears to get the engine into the powerband.
