More details - mileage, location, rust?

Let us know what you are after, have a couple of mates that are parting out a few FL and PFL E30's.
-
Hi Robert, welcome. Father and daughter, fantastic, what the E30 class racing is all about.

Those are super cool cars, what is the interior like? some pics would be great. As to the engine nothing too much wrong with the M10 motor, you can get great reliability and serious horsepower out of those things. Would perhaps spoil it if anything other than an M10 were used. Where in NZ will you be based?

The cop, bald in mufti in a mufti car? It seems this is all too common down here. You can get a court appointed lawyer (on the day0 who will plead on your behalf and present any documentation you have to the judge. I have seen exactly your case happen twice in CHC, once with handcuffs and once where the drivers hand was placed in the doorjamb and then the door pushed shut to trap the drivers hand whilst the tirade went on, with lots of finger poking and shin tapping. The driver lost his licence for 6 months, got a $500 fine, car was impounded for 28 days and cost, I think he said, $300 + to get the car out. I wrote a letter stating what I had witnessed, to the guy, the police, and gave a copy to the court. Linden you may well get a fair hearing in light of the photos. My son had a similar "incident" and the lawyer was Levi someone from Malley and Co in CHC he cost $800. In that case the lawyer was absolutely useless, but we approached the court appointed lawyer and he was very good and helpfull. I wish you all the best.

My E36 325 manual, (now sold) used to do Christchurch to Dunedin and return on a tank 800+ kms 2 up and cruising at 100 to 110kmh. Around town it was more how far it would go on $20.

First remove as much of the sealant / adhesive as possible using a plastic scraper, or go and buy a "caramel wheel" available from most automotive paint shops. The wheel fits into the chuck of a drill, it is made of rubber and usually used to remove stickers, pinstripes etc. Or, you could try turps, kerosene, brake cleaner or petrol, but I suspect the PO used something like windscreen sealant which is resistant to most solvents.

i don't think the 320i is any better on gas than a 325i

My m20b25 makes a strange droning noise. follows the engine note but doesn't really get any louder. it's a mystery and i've come to the conclusion if you're old you can't hear it. as my dad and boss can't.

I know that Ray does one hell of a job converting the cars to manual, but even he is limited by the number of conversion kits he can get. here This could be a likely candidate, but I don't think it will be around till the 26th, anyone know this car? It ticks the right boxes with motorsport suspension etc

From the 26th of June (when I expect the sale of my E36 325 to go through) I shall be looking for a new car and I am after an E36 328 coupe. I would prefer a manual but prepared to look at an auto and have HellBM convert it. What is out there?
-
Jeez hadn't thought of the chain tensioner. I shall be trying some Wynns engine flush, fresh Magnatec and oil filter, and perhaps an additive. Cheers for that. Anyone else with ideas, solutions etc?

E36 !993, 325i My car on startup first thing in the morning makes horrible rattle for 1 or 2 seconds and then quietens down to almost normal. If you turn it off immediately and then start it again there is no noise. I'm guessing it is a hydraulic valve lifter The question is is there anything that I can use, (additive) or do ( oil and filter change done 3000kms ago,) to reduce this ungodly noise? Its starting to get embarrassing!
