    Fuel Filter

Hi All, In need of a new fuel filter 1 (13321407299) for an E39 M5. I'm guessing it also comes with part 4 (07119963129) copper casket ring?
  2. Since purchase, I reset the M5 OBC consumption 1 and it's average is 15.1 L/100km however that will be mainly due to city driving which I do much more of now. Open road driving I've seen as low as 9.6 L/100km on average from consumption 2 which I think is pretty reasonable considering. I know I need a fuel filter change, I wonder if that will make any difference?
  3. I have the M5 going in this week to JG for an oil service. Do you think they will run the "it doesn't need to be changed" spiel for the transmission? I'd like it to be changed - feeling a little notchy on these cold mornings!

    M5V8

Be keen to hear your Remus exhaust compared to my factory standard... What's your plan with the LED angel eyes? Do they simply slot into the existing headlight casing?
  5. Prefer the Schnitzer wheels. Even though there isn't much dish, they still suit the E36 better.
  6. I've set mine to Austria (not Australia) and it works fine. Doesn't pick up reception very well on the go (for passengers viewing of course ) but that's probably due to the hills around Wellington.

    E39 M5 Shocks

Will let you know. The front feels perfect... not a rattle. Have noticed that whenever going over bumps such as drain covers, pot holes, the left rear feels fine, no noise at all. If I hit a similar bump with the right rear, there is a noise from the right rear parcel shelf accompanied by a wobble/shake. You feel it through the seat and the car almost "bounces" sideways slightly as if the wheel has hopped. Replaced worn rear ball joints which has helped a lot. Had rear wheel wandering under braking which is now gone. Have had it in with the dealer and they have been unable to find any further worn components... twice. It feels like a blown shock. I was leaning towards sub-frame mounts too but it's only occuring through the right wheel.

    E39 Door Seal

Hi all, Was detailing the car yesterday and noticed the drivers side interior door rubber has a tear in it (see pic, number 1). Not sure if they come in different colours, but mine is black. Haven't approached the dealer for a price... any ideas? Cheers

    E39 M5 Shocks

I believe it's new shock time for the M5... particularly the rear. Have looked around online and Koni appear to be the way to go - KON-8240-1156 Sport seems to be the part number for the rear. Does anyone have other suggestions or prices? Thanks in advance.
  11. Comfort seats were a rare option on the m5 however they do make the interior look more like a standard e39. Check to see they have the buttons on the center console for the massage function... just in case they were swapped out.
  12. My e30 slowly began to overheat in stop/go traffic. Once the car is up to temperature, try inserting a rolled up a newspaper into the fan. If you can stop the fan, you need a new fan clutch. Worth while replacing the water pump while you're there. Replaced fan clutch on mine and the temperature gauge has been half way since. M20's don't like to overheat.
  13. Hi all, Recently purchased an 1999 NZ New e39 however the interior rearview mirror has a nasty bubble along the top and no longer auto dims - not very handy at night! What would be the chance of finding one second hand? The car has rain sensing wipers, auto-dimming exterior mirrors and factory alarm (clown nose). See image:
  14. Hey, is the convertible top still for sale? If so, what is the condition? Any rips or wear? Photos?
  15. Didn't think the SI board effected the fuel gauge. I know it can play havoc with the tach, temp and economy gauges though. My temp gauge wasn't working, replaced the SI batteries and haven't had any issues since. There is quite a lot of information on Bimmerforums.com
  16. Evening all, Getting the fan clutch replaced in a few days as the car is running hot in traffic, fine when on the move. Noticed a couple of times in recently warm weather after switching the car off and coming back (say 2-5 mins later) the temp gauge reads 3/4 and moves back down to normal (half way) once started. My e34 M50 used to do the same on really warm days and I was told it was "normal..." Does anyone else experience this. I'm hoping the new fan clutch will help or sort it since the temp is erratic at the moment anyway. Could there be air in the system? Car is an e30 325i
  17. That sucks! I came out to the car the other day and noticed a neighbour had pulled a dirty hose over the bonnet of my car so he could wash his... The bonnet was scratched to pieces! Managed to get the worst of it out with some polish, but still, some people just don't care.
  18. Hi All, What's a good price to pay for a E30 engine fan clutch? Have recently done a coolant flush, changed thermostat but still the temp gauge slowly moves past centre up to 3/4 when idling or in slow moving traffic. Moves back down to centre once on the move again. Car is a 1986 325i without aircon. Will try the rolled up newspaper test tomorrow. Cheers
