  1. Boston, does this mean we can go car shopping?
  2. Agreed. I’ve nothing to hide when selling and always appreciate history and disclosure when purchasing but there’s always a whiff of knock em down on the question and answer page. “Have you had the flux capacitor serviced?”
  3. Good points made above. I’m on the fence regarding the Q & A section. I understand it’s purpose, but it’s not always used effectively. I always make the opportunity to contact the seller directly. If they can’t make their phone number available, I will email them. I don’t feel it’s wasting time. I generally get a good feel from the seller (or if I’m selling, from the buyer) through this approach as to how genuine they are.
  4. Yup, always people trying to put others off. A lot of the time they have no intention of buying. It’s the equivalent to the antics that guys at auction houses used to pull trying to make a car seem like it needs work when in reality it’s just a lead off the spark plug. Starting to show my age ?

We need an e39 photo shoot
  7. None of the e90’s supported Bluetooth streaming unfortunately
  8. I don’t find the 335i that much of a guzzler, but then it’s all relative. I use it daily and it’s so much nicer than a little shoe box. The trick is to think of the 335i as a frugal daily compared to daily driving the M5 ?... at least that’s what I keep telling myself.
  9. I purposely bought my coupe without idrive. Much cleaner looking and the older idrive feels so dated.
  10. The e39 M5 is a lot of fun with a manual and complements the engine well, but the modern autos and DCT gearboxes do a great job. I personally find driving a manual tedious now.
  11. Are these common faults?
  12. This article might help you determine if it’s authentic or not. https://germancarsforsaleblog.com/tuner-tuesday-1990-alpina-b11-3-5-2/ regardless, e32 is always a favorite. Shame the Alpina wheels are missing.
  13. Or double it if they’ve just given it a wash for the first time since owning and it’s “in mint condition”
  14. Great looking wagon. I am very smitten with my e92 n54 and it’s completely stock. Yours must be a blast!
  15. Cheers Cory. I thought that was your 330i but wasn’t sure.
  16. I agree. I sold my last one with some reluctance but was keen to move into something a little more modern. I tried an e92 M3, e60 M5, even branched out and looked at a 996 911. Kind of considered a F10 M5 but they’re so much bigger. I kept coming back to the e39. The V8 is just so nice day to day. They just got everything so right (imho) and you’re right, they are stunning to look at.
  17. I don’t think I’ll daily it. More of a weekend toy.
  18. Cheers! I used to have a 1999 Avus Blue. Was one of the first in the country. I don’t think it went to a community member.
  19. Maybe ? Picked it up yesterday. Drives very well. Previous owner attended to mechanical issues and maintenance well. There are lots and lots of receipts in the glove box and in the boot... including a few 5 liter bottles of TWS oil which is handy. Interior is pretty damn immaculate for a car with 200k. I don’t think the rear seats have been used. Exterior needs a few door dents pushed and wheels refurbished. Motor feels strong, gearbox much nicer than my previous M5. I need a bigger garage!

Why haven’t you sold this to me yet? Looking great. MPars always look great on e39’s
  21. Hi all, Wondering if anyone has a car trailer handy in the Wellington region and is happy to lend out. Preferably one with a winch as the old girl hasn’t moved in about 10 years. Please PM me.
