850i 6 speed
-
I'm tempted to buy one as a parts car!
-
E30 M3's are indeed nice cars, but I'd prefer a mint condition Lancer EVO 1 for a lot less money. You still get the simple down to earth feel, but 4wd and a lot more power.
-
Quail, my problem is that everyone talks up E30's, they just aren't anything special! And getting back to topic, Ollie is exactly right, the Z8 is bloody terrible
-
Lol, that comment would imply that the e30 is a good looking car. It's just a small 30 year old car
-
The first of the ugly BMW's, but not the last!

I 100% agree with Glenn (I knew after meeting you I'd get along with you well) My parents owned their own company for 28 years and dealt with the exact same sh*t. While I'm not self employed all of the bosses I've had (4) have always said I have had the absolute best working attitude out of anyone they have ever employed. I personally hate the DPB and don't see a single reason for it. I'm 24 and I do quite like the idea of having kids, but I know I don't have enough money to support one (well and not having a gf/partner/wife atm will also limit my chances there) but I don't see why the hell I should put so much of my hard earned money to people who have had kids and can't afford them. Simply don't have them in the first place. I do agree with the earlier comments about being home to support kids and spend time with them. One of our customers is a large preschool and it amazes me at the amount of kids that go there! I've always been right wing and I've always thought that the right wing encourages people who want to do well for themselves to work harder and acheive it themselves, and the left wing is just there to support a large number of lazy bastards who can't get off their arse and be bothered working, or are too stupid to do anything better than ask if you'd like fries with that (excluding 17 year olds in their first jobs and such) or sweep floors. Work for the Dole is simply an awesome idea, I don't see a single reason why I should be working 8-12 hours a day 5 days a week to have some piece of crap low life sit around and do nothing but produce kids. I would also implement urine tests for ALL benefits. dpb, unemployed, sickness, whatever, make them all be completely clean of 'negative' things, drugs, alcohol, tobacco. Those items are all luxuries and should only be used by those that can afford them. No I'm not saying if you've got a job it is a good idea to spend your money on drugs, but I'm sure you all understand what I'm getting at. Someone here will ask what about their kids? Stuff them I say, their kids aren't going to be shooting for the stars with a druggie/alcoholic unemployed parent anyway are they? Finally - this is a useful link http://www.libertarianz.org.nz/taxcalc/ See how much of your money is being wasted by people too lazy to get a job and by government departments. See how little is being spent relatively on health, education and the police.

Fuel economy & insurance related question!
bradc replied to Avenged.SSE's topic in General Discussion
I've got 3 cars insured, the 850CSi, the VR-4 which is heavily modified and an ST-R Legnum and pay about $1100 for each of the fast cars and $500 a year for the ST-R, all mods declared etc. I'm noly 24 so didn't think it was that bad. And yes, the 850CSI has a 5.6L engine -
saw a nice E36 sedan in black today with M3 style wheels on it
bradc replied to bradc's topic in General Discussion
Definitely an E36 Sedan with E46 M3 style wheels -
No options for configuring a B12 5.7 Coupe

I saw a very nice E36 today in Kohimarama today in the afternoon, just wanted to know something about the wheels on it. It was black with dark tints and had E46 style M3 wheels on it. Very shiney and very clean. Was heading from Kohi towards the motorway. The guy had sunnies on, but I can't remember the plate sorry. Anyone know it?

The X6 has some cool technology behind it, pity they are 12 years late, the EVO 4 and VR-4 have had that same technology (only on the rear axle though) since 1996. The current shape 5 series is the only BMW that I would not own under any circumstance. Ugly piece of crap that looks like dame edna from the front!
-
thats the oil and water mixing together
-
Mr E34 - times change Just realised I know this car from Ping Zero, seen it there a couple of times now.
-
These would look amazing on my 850CSi. How wide are they? If they are 9" and 10" then I will be very keen.
-
Awesome, now just need to find a buyer
-
We went for a small cruise this morning. One battery is still an original BMW from 1994 and the car was dead flat this morning. Glenn will be getting another battery today and then it is all ready to go Lovely car, if you've got $70k and don't want to buy it, please give me the money. I'll sell my body!
-
Glenn - you know I *actually* deserve a ride in it, can you let us know when it's ready and I'll pop past for a final inspection
-
Hmm, that list is different to the list I have of his 850CSi's, the B12 listed there is not an 850CSi, it doesn't have the M style WBS chassis code
-
Avenged - thats a big problem on Auckland motorways, if you aren't passing someone, get into the slow lane(s)! If you sit at whatever predetermined speed YOU think is ok and have people behind you in the fast lane, you should get out of the way! Simple as that
-
You shouldn't be in the fast lane just because you think you are doing a satisfactory speed. If the middle or slow lanes are free you should be in one of them and not the fast lane regardless of what your actual speed is.
-
E39's are everywhere, people will mistake an M5 for a piece of crap 520 with M badges If you see an E31 coming, you know it is special!
-
I do agree that it does need a steam clean underneath to bring it up to nice condition, but it isn't that bad at all. It doesn't have a spot of rust! Kiwi535 - there are 4 in the country now. A red one in Tauranga, a black one in Auckland, my one and this silver one. http://www.carfax.co.nz/car/?plate=brg755 http://www.carfax.co.nz/car/?plate=VN5576 As you can see the red one hasn't been on the road in a little while now. I have the guys details but he isn't responding at all. I hope he simply hasn't died or anything. The red one was one of the Singapore delivered ones, the other Singapore car is in Aus. The black one is ex UK like mine. Mr E34 - it isn't a fantasy price. In the USA good condition 850CSi's with a lot more mileage have sold for US$70k or more. Obviously in NZ the market might be different, but remember you are talking about a V12 6 speed manual coupe that cost over $330k when new! This car has only done 20000km and looks like it is a year old. It is in fantastic overall condition and is insanely rare. Eddy - the Sultan had 3 850's. He had an 850CSi, a normal 850i and an Alpina B12 in RHD. The Alpina was sold a few years ago in the UK for over 70000 pounds! It had only travelled 1200 miles or something completely rediculous. They only made 57 Alpina B12 5.7's and only 4 of those were RHD. All of those 4 were unique, they were all different colours etc. Two of them had the shifttronic option. Ohh and as for me buying it....if it was black and had done 20000km I would beg, borrow and steal to get it. However to be honest it didn't do it for me in silver. If I had the choice between spending $80k or so to buy this car, or to spend $35k on mine (plus the $45k it already owes me) I would definitely spend the money on mine. Techno Violet plus Lotus White leather is completely unique and darker colours suit the E31 shape much better imho. However if the price ends up being $40k or something, I will buy it!
-
*heart stops* Mine cost me 12000 pounds and it will cost at least $10k to get it on the road, probably more like 20 Any chance I could come around and have a perv at it?
-
I'm in need of an E31 chassis, the underbody needs to be in great condition (no rust). If you find an E31 with seats you'd like let me know and we can work out something on the car. Best to pm me
