  1. Did you ever do this? I just called Swann and they said my touring does not fit their description of classic. Also, classic cover say they don't insure <25 year olds, so I'm interested in how you got them to cover you.
  2. I used to do this most of the time in my 323i but can't really do it right in my touring or in my old 318i because the engine are less responsive? Perhaps the extractors in the 323i made it more responsive.
  3. As much as I hate to bump, I need to have this fairly soon as I have a trip to Taupo coming up.
  4. For once I understand and agree with you.
  5. Left front 51mm strut? Fan speed resistor block?
  6. After two alignments at a certain local place with sh*t results and no explanation, I took the touring to Centreline where they diagnosed the 2.5 deg negative camber and silly castor on the left front wheel as being due to a bent front left strut. It wasn't me, so the struts John put in to replace the coilovers must have already been farked. Cool story aside, I need a 325i (51mm yea?) left front strut. Cheap is good and I don't need the shock or spring. email me at [email protected] or text me on 0273545576. Thanks. ps I semi need a M20 G260 as well.

    Awesome Video

Really? I saw someone put this up on the book of faces too and found it borrring.
  8. Agree with everything but the engines aren't all noisy, I can hardly hear mine from inside. Buy a mint one Graham, like the black m325i in Hawkes Bay

    EOI - E30 Part out

What's included in the manual conversion bits? I sort of need a G260
  10. Its not unlikely! flat 4 powaaaa
  11. First was dudlee when I was 15. pfl 318i manual. Just sold it a month ago: Then this clean fl 318i manual coupe. Wrote it off in Aus after only having it a couple of months: After the 318i came this 1983 323i auto: I converted it to manual and did a heap of other work to it. It wasn't perfect but it was still pretty cool, and I sold it for a 4 figure profit. And now I have the touring, which looked like this a couple of months ago but is changing! After all these E30s I think my next car will be a volksy.
  12. There's a roll cage in the last pic. How terrible does a car have to be to need a roll cage from factory?
  13. I sees what you did there simone! Glenn is cool. Manual spring compressors pwn my life
  14. Apparently its good practice to put the more compressed coils facing down, but it doesn't actually really matter.
  15. Puck yous. im calling glenn
  16. Hi. These new lowering springs I got are more compressed at one end than the other (see in the pic the coils are more compressed at the bottom in the photo). Which way up do I put them in? Need to get these in by the end of the day so its reso urgent. Thanks.
  17. Did you see this on mt eden road yesterday on 17s with a car full of people our age? I also saw a zender kitted zinnoberot 4 door with a carful just pull in to mt eden mobil. Was 6 cyl.

    325i touring log

Oh yes I thought that's what you meant. I rekon the best way to get the old stuff off will be with a reso strong waterblaster (not one of those weak and unreliable $120 mitre 10 jobs) - have you got one?

    325i touring log

Sump guard is a standard south african one, with the green paint mod (green paint is more aerodynamic and is reported to give anywhere from 4 - 9 rwkw depending on the gloss). Since my car is not safa I have to get studs welded into the chassis and holes drilled in to the subframe to fit it. Yea manifold looks grot but bugger taking it off. I'm loosing motivation on the bonnet insulation front. Take over for me?

    325i touring log

I broke a engine mount arm and both my gearbox mounts in the weekend. So I fixed that. I also put in a replacement steering rack as the other one was spitting fluid everywhere. I still had a bit of time left over today so I put this fast as rocker cover on which I stole off another member ages ago. Guess who? Before: After: I was pleased with how clean the old RC was underneath. Its a good quiet and strong motor, just gets annoying when it stops for absolutely no reason I'm looking to install my bilstein b8s in the rear, space the rear wheels and lower the front some more towards the end of this week. I also want to get my extractors and sump guard installed but since both of these are going to to require welding (money) I'm putting it off. Maybe in summer.
  22. I measured 7.68l/100k from taupo to auckland on 95 when mine was auto.
