In response to those who say get headphones: I used to own a pair of sennheiser HDs so I know what I'l be missing out on. AudioENZ is tits! Spent ages on there last night. Can't sign up though cause of my webmail account. Thanks.

^ Superb call on the 318tis But seriously, I need sounds! Brett, my budget is whatever it needs to be to hit the sweet spot in terms of value for aural goodness, but certainly not more than $2000... in fact not more than $1500. I'm definitely in the second hand market.

Bahahah didn't even notice till you mentioned it! Wanna edit it for me markthemod?

I'm looking to get a good sound system. Was initially leaning towards building a headphone amp with some good cans to match but I've decided they are too much of a 'formal' way to enjoy music, so speakers it is. I can't afford to do both well. At this stage I'm looking at a CD with integrated DAC -> integrated amp -> 2 floor standing or bookshelf speakers with possibly a little sub. Not interested 100 speaker booming sub gazzillion watt 'home theater' setups and I don't need a receiver that can handle anything other than cds and FLAC through my iPod. I'd like some advice as to what the pricing 'sweet spot' is for each of these units along with recommendations. Any good deals on trademe now? As far as speakers go, I recently heard some arcam twos and was very impressed, also heard good things about PSB alpha B1s. Anyone know of anyone selling some? Thanks! Oh and is there a NZ forum for this type of stuff?

Imo you should start with a coupe, not much point in e30 back seats anyway Always perplexes me when people do major stuff on 4 door e30s. E30 bandit.
-
Yes depending on measurement of hubcentric bitty.
-
Might go have a perv, I rekon I could squeeze another e30 out back?
-
Sure, I'm mostly just reciting bits and pieces I've learned off Glenn . 500 is still too low though if you didn't already know. Oh and do what oli said
-
Glad to hear it.

The idle screw should not be used as a fix for poor idle when the problem is actually elsewhere. Maybe your idle screw had been tampered with in the past and you have just bought it back to what it should be (schweet), or maybe something elsewhere is wrong and you are compensating for it with the idle screw (unschweet). If you have set it like the manual says you must be all good, but I'm just putting it out there just in case. If you wind it on too much you will be running with the tps always activated = poor fuel consumption. When you open the throttle a smidge you should hear a light tick, and another tick when you close it again. See the Andrew Everett E30 resto bible which I think you have for more detail.
-
Yes you can raise the idle by adjusting a little screw on the tb with an allen key, it just opens up the throttle. Its meant to be wound on so that there is a specific gap between the throttle plate and the throttle body. I'm not sure what this spec is but Glenn knows.

Hey man, I know they're not konis but these could end being a real steal if they end up being e30 fitment. tradme
-
Yep I like it, but you should move the hose out the way next time
