Yummy cars! Although I find that e21 pretty horrid. Is the mrs doing handbrakeys everywhere now?
-

No shudders but there is a clunk from the rear
-
Didn't slip when I reversed it hard back up the drive earlier today but to be honest I've never felt a slipping clutch so I cant be sure. Dont think I've twisted it as the box went in nice and easy but yes, may end up just having another look Thanks for having a look anyway foxy.
-
Yes Its not really a scraping your right. More a groaning. Sorry for the clunking around, it was dark and I was trying to park the car at the same time.
-
Righto heres the vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4XJNsPzo-g Clutch is let out at 0:08 and put back in at 0:14. Then let out in reverse at 0:21 til 0:26. Then I let it out and in a few times from 0.34 to 0:45 in 1st again.

Also, I just checked and I'm using the correct release bearing and "clutch release fork lever"

Top gear! See Hammond testing audi in snowy place with skiers jumping over him. May testing fiat 500 diesel with bmxers jumping over him. May with K block with moto riders jumping over him. Clarkson in evo I think it was with man on off road skateboard jumping over him.

Way less than 450kg mate!

Preamble: 1990 m20b25 with a g260 and short shifter. New clutch, balanced and resurfaced PP, lightened flywheel (6.8kg). New (later type) release bearing. Clutch has been bled thoroughly, I even removed the slave and pushed the rod in slowly to get all the air out. Ok so when I release the clutch I'm getting a whirring / scraping noise. The car moves forward and back fine but the noise doesn't seem right. Also, the clutch has no feel - can't feel it bite. Can people with experience throw a few ideas around on what the noise may be and why the clutch feels lost? Silver fox, you've done a few manual conversions - any clues? PS, car was auto, now converted to manual. I'm getting these noises on my first attempt at a drive. VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4XJNsPzo-g

I'm not going to burn the paint, I know what I'm doing, what speeds I need and what products to use. William, how low can your angle grinder go in terms of speed? I'm guessing it won't be adjustable and itl be way too fast edit": Yes it can and does happen and its not as hard as you think. Also, not sure what pads you are using but I've only ever seen foam and sheepskin, I imagine buffing with some sort of cloth pad (if there is even such a thing) would scratch the sh*t out of your car, especially since its black.
-
Hah! yea right. I need to give duds a real good cut after the sh*t its taken in the last year. Oh and this may sound picky but I'm not interested if its one of those terrible 100 odd watt 12v try hard gimmicky horrible yucky pootastic ones. thanks

Anyone in Auckland got an orbital buff and pads I can borrow next weekend for a dozen? Max
-
Sounds superb and looks like it really moves, you must be stoked.
-
Urgh, I'd be running out of motivation. Good luck

Nice progress! What part of the car is the pic 9 rust repair?
-
Wonder where they got that idea from
-
Very well done Nathan!

I'm going to Glenns workshop today, I can bring it back to mt eden if that makes it easier for someone. I would say I can bring it to Hams but I'm not 100% sure if the wag will be done.

Got one in Mt Eden if you cbf going silverdale. ps The switch might just have fluff in it or something stopping it from coming out.
