  1. Howdy - keen for bootlid struts. Kick plate is the one one the door opening on the bottom where you stand if you are 3.......the damper connects to the back of the foot brake and helps pull it away when you release the brake.
  2. Bootlid struts still hold up the weight of the boot? Footbrake return damper thingy, drivers side plastic kick plate if it is minty.......
  3. Comes with mounting hardware but not wiring - unfortunately that was destroyed.
  4. Located on the North Shore. OEM supplied tow bar for an E39 saloon. Chrome finish. Bit of surface rust but in good condition. $175.

Dog vs car incident now being fixed - new front bumper and lower grille, new fog light and bumper trim. While I am at it refinishing rear bumper, taking off tow bar and putting on new lower valance that goes above exhaust. In the process have to get two replacement bumper shocks since they buffed when tow bar was fitted by previous owner. Pics next week.

Time to stop reading other peoples projects and start a thread of my own as a motivational driver to make some progress. As a spotty graduate at PwC the Australasian Partner had an E39 M5.....I had a 1972 Datsun 1600. One days I said I wills have me one of dose...... Fast forward 10 years and after two years of serious looking but not touching I was finally in a position to buy. Swooped on a 2 owner 2003 M5 lurking in a garage in Paratai Drive. The owner wasn't sure what the sport button did so it hadn't been thrashed. Well depends what you mean by thrashed......the interior of the boot was full of building rubble and there was 10 years worth of body slime on the steering wheel and switches. With only 95k on the clock and a full service history I wasn't about to say no to finally looking and touching...... First job was to compile the list of jobs. Cleaning........cleaning.....cleaning. Get rid of Roadstone tyres - enter Michellin PSP2s Replace worn steering wheel (thanks Ray @HellBM) Martin (breakmywindow) diagnosed duff thermostat - parts bought......not quite fitted.... Get rid of tow bar - new rear insert for bumper purchased ready for that job..... New oil separators and hoses.....not quite fitted........ MMMMM - liberate aural pleasure - Remus cans.....this time fitted.....improvement but I would still like louder aural pleasure........ Tints.....thanks Amber and Car Folie. Now restoration is being prompted by dog vs car incident. Dog ran off with a yelp, front end of III5 scarred and littered on Coromandel roads. Happy to say every little improvement brings me much satisfaction. Still much to do. Pic below from day of purchase Vanity....... Stretching legs on Thames Coast road with mate in his e36 M3 evo. Nice car..... Remus comes to town November snow - Car Folied.... M5 love in III5 vs dog.... Repairs pending........
  8. Do it for you! But looks peachy. You have inspired me to fettle my poverty spec 728i..... Time to fix drivers door which has rust from a shonky repair....
  9. Excellent - I shall send to mates who dare to mock the 7......
  10. I came close to selling mine but now I thinking it might be a keeper and it's time for a bit of restoration.......
  11. Looks great. Greatness might be enhanced by removal of mud flaps?
  12. M5 experience for less money but could be tricky sell down the track......what premium do you put on it over a 540 Motorsport of same mileage Clearly a nice package......which comes with baggage. I would consider it but the price is the challenge. In my opinion it is possibly overpriced. Happy to be wrong on that......
  13. Clever man. Nice work on the path of making her peachy!
  14. I still like mine....style 32? Dish suits the car. I don't have a better pic at hand - nice gunmetal grey when clean.....
  15. Yep between cars just to see what you like more. But it's always good to have options....... Alpinas are the hero wheel for me......
  16. My e38 is ex Singapore so should be troublesome but I have done over 120,000km on it (I got it at 50,0000) and it's been pretty good. Cooling gear needed replacement and normal suspension wear. That is why I still have it. Stick with the 750... The niggles will be long forgotten when fixed.
  17. Love the electric rear seat. Plush! I am a sucker for the larger ladies........it's a great score!

    'THE' M3...

Eh? Since when was sharing the pain a bad thing? Hardly celebrating Ambers misfortune - was genuine in reaching out.
  19. Just noticed the wood trims with fancy in laid bits and the leather on the lower door cards. Cool.
  20. Cool - what do you get it for? I have an e38 and it has really got under my skin.......I still like it a lot after 9 years of driving. You are lucky to have a standard wheelbase 750 individual. Parts should be cheap if you rob poverty spec versions like mine...... Keep the updates coming. I don't think the e38 is on the radar at the moment but I think it has cruiser classic potential.....

    'THE' M3...

Amber really hope that wasn't you on the motorway with both ends of MissBM shunted. I feel your pain if it was..........
  22. Which blue ? Drivers front door shell?
  23. Hi sorry haven't called - still keen. Did you find a blue one? My door needs some small rust repairs so thought it might be cheaper to replace the shell......
