life is to short and time spent commuting is long so be in something you like! Like an M5 which is easy to waft along in. Hang in there Martin - it's worth what you are asking. It is actually a bargain for the whole driving experience, useability and build quality.

Re exhaust - mate did the same to his e36 m3 exhaust but he replaced perforated pipe with normal pipe before repacking with steel wool. Sounds awesome and no drone..... Liberating sound is good!

Inspired to complete my own toolkit..........goes out to drive.....raids tools in e38. Job done!

The M5 had brand new roadstones on the back when purchased............awful! Replaced with Michelin PSS and the difference was immediate. A fan of these...... For a start the DSC light doesn't come on quite so frequently............

Interesting observation on ride height. Mine has factory suspension but wheels tuck into guards more........apologies for filth - normally clean?

Welcome and welcome to the e39 experience. I would be tempted to plastic polish the lights before springing for eBay versions which can look cheap depending on what you buy.

Just check behind the flap - mine has a version of dsp and obc.......not sure if it is the same.

The E38 failed a WOF on an inactive windscreen washer - so go a new pump from Brent - fitted - victory! But the extra pressure seems to have caused the brittle pipes under the bonnet to crack! FAIL! Now that is a fiddly job to fix....sigh. Went for drive to Colville after giving up in frustration..... Anyone know an easy fix for windscreen washer pipes? Update - now fixed with new pipe and warrant scored - score! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Keep the 740 and preserve it as your faithful servant. Take one facelift e38 with no prior relationship and begin your corruption.... S62 is cool for e38 number 5 and then it is time for e38 number 6 with screaming v10........
