^ most for sale are being snapped up for the series. interesting they're using the higher end of the spectrum to start with. you can get a fairly tidy 316/318 f/l for very little moeny if you know where to look, and aren't afraid of buying something that needs a little tlc... had something that would have been perfect, last week, and is residing in my driveway until sometime next week. very tidy wee car.... is also becoming a series car. If you want one that badly then go nuts, no point putting off the inevitable by buying somehting you don't really have a love for, then getting one a year or so down the track, as prices will probably go up a fair biit soon I'm picking

in ways, yes. can't beat the oldschool character though.. 205gti = refined mini with more stick, and higher maintenance costs. lol
-
lol, minis are great cars
-
he's talking proportioning/bias valve. bias adjustment.line lockers (purely on/off) can really only be used for burnouts, be it 'show' or for heating up slicks on the strip

I think you'll find it was posted up in jest, knowing will's dry sense of humour. Buy now button would have been pushed, knowing that nobody in their right mind would actually sell at that price, but, there's always that chance. Had to LOL at ryan in this case he's made an abortion at listing. gotta feel sorry for the bastard.

you sly dog, didn't even know you were thinking of this. shoulda gone with the gti!!

have access to a f/l 316i coupe in cirrusblau, manual etc, V. tidy... cooked engine (overheated - drove until seized, blows more out the radiator cap than the exhaust, almost) pm me

good buy man. no more common than an e30 should be fun... any mods planned man?
-
they're not using stock ls1s though, are they? lag - I guess that depends on turbo setup etc, but it's probably hardly an issue. most people class lag as "when i dump the clutch at barely more than idle and it's not boosting" reliability shouldn't really be too much of a problem. As always, comes down to tuning, treatment etc. same with an ls1, again. also - it's untrue that rotaries have "no torque whatsoever" I had an FC, and it pulled v. well from 1700rpm. other rotary engines I've spent a fair amount of time around are also better than the stereotype leads you to believe. but as I said - american specced 13bt = probably rancid detuned crap. shoehorning an ls1 'saves weight', costs shitloads to do no doubt, and you have to f**k with the suspension setup to get back to similar to factory characteristics. I know what I'd rather
-
easier (no engine mods, all external) to get that from a 13bt. rank, then again, u.s. domestic model fd's are probably a poor spec
-
just chuck another secondhand autotragic box in there?
-
gearboxes wont interchange. you'll need a different driveshaft, and fly wheel. cltuch and clutch controls (maste cyl, slave cyl, piping, pedal etc) good luck finding any of them secondhand fairly thin on the ground at wreckers, even e28 m30 manual stuff is reasonably hard to find.
-
you're mates with/live @ whenuapai with dave eh? and have the evo/libero wagon etc? cool car man! hopefulyl check it out in the flesh next time I'm up seeing that little mongrel

I can't be too sure. Wiill definitely find out on sunday for you, so long as the guy is home. I shouldn't imagine he'll want silly money for it, will try and get ahold of it for aorund the same money as gus is offering. the guy's reasonably switched on to parts values at times, although not in it to tuck people! Will contact you asap
-
shouldn't imagine so. she doesn't seem too distraught. then again, the guy owns a lambo, she's probably got a goldmine waiting for her!
-
Feilding. was off a tired e28, killed by the old rust no doubt. alledgedly the guy had not long spent a few pennies on getting this one sorted, and put on his smokey old bottom end (original head died the same death as yours). He reckons there's a water gallery which has benn added by a reputable engine builder, which is often not on the head, but is present on the block, creating a hotspot right in the middle, which could be the reason these ones crack. Will try and find out over the next day or two, I'm pretty sure I saw the car atop a stack of wrecks at the dump when I was getting rid of a parts car around a month ago, he may have salvaged the head though! Another option, aside from gus' head, should you need it. will post back here. Wont get word until sunday at the earliest I shouldn't think

give european car parts a go.... in auckland, 09 299 1234 otherwise, other m20 head may fit? I may know of one form a mechanically injected 520i, if that may help, being that your car is likely mechanical injection?

yup, euros seem to love blowby. Am currently sorting a catch can for my pug, for this reason. gums up the idle port in the throttle body, etc
-
engine breather? figured that would be an easy diagnosis. To stop it - oil catch can system
