Secondly, the ticking that you're getting is very normal, they all tick tick tickety tick happily all day - unless of course it's an exhaust manifold crack Thirdly, if you stick with the L-Jet then you should be able to do a straight engine swap

You can use it to run your 320 providing you have a motronic wiring loom, but you may want to stick a 320 chip in otherwise it'll run richie rich. I have a spare 320i stock chip.

If so, check the oil isn't OVER FILLED...seen a case where engine just refused to rev, cause, oil was filled right up way passed the max amount Limp mode is when enigne managment detects some problem and goes into a safe mode. I can understand the need for extractors, assuming it's all already been opened up with a K&N and any exhaust restrictors removed, but the strut brace is only really useful if you're hard cornering...are you hard cornering? in the vert???
