    Low end lack.

Yes, stick in a K&N panel filter and your top end will benefit immensely as they flow quite well. If you have a cat cut it out as that's the BEST mod you can do.Tane (Deftones) and I both have 320's and we've both done the K&N panel, cat removal, and manual conversion. It works.

    Retrimming Seats

Was talking to Mike last night about the things The Surgery do. He suggested that there's no point trying to repair the vinyl cracks as it's the foam underneath which has split causing the cracks. I've used that vinyl guy in Rutherford street. He's cheap and nasty, fixed my cracks but left horrible patches behind and they just cracked again 9 months later. He's definately a horrible old bastard alright, seemed to think the repairs lasting 9 months was a good job IMHO, just stick a car seat over them, save yourself the hassle.
  3. That sucks hard man, and here's me thinking Wellington was a considerably safer place than Auckland Man i've love to whack these low lives, but you know it's just school kids with the holidays and all, oppurtunists that'll never be caught cause the fuzz just don't chase them up. Anyway, as above, where'd that happen? I know the riverbank carpark in Lower Hutt is a cesspit during the holidays for the hutt valley scum.
  4. that dude's got a serious hard woody

    Low end lack.

The 320 has the same throttle body diameter as the 323 and yes i've read that the injection is too big for it make the idle erratic. All you have to do is let it breath The chip has changed the torque curve big time. There's definately more torque down low and in the mid range but I need to dyno it to see what it's really done. It has, however, f**ked up my idle plus when you tap the pedal when it's idling it dies a little before it revs up - a small price to pay - so i'm thinking I might get another one burnt to raise the idle a couple of hundy as 600rpm is just way to low, would suit an auto but not the manual.

    How many iS

It's not just the auto-box, the motronic doesn't put out ANY power at all until 4000rpm which is what he's experiencing. You can change that with a chip

    Bad Fuel

I agree with Andy on this I've run mine on 91, 96, 98, and mixtures in between and haven't noticed a bloody difference, which sadly I wish I could've.
  9. My condolences Tim...and while I can't say that i'm not surprised this happened to you it is certainly a troubling thought that using 4 f/x's didn't prevent the demise of what was truly an evil car. The word Pheonix springs to mind...do it

    Nos

You know, that's probably true, but it's not because the dyno we used was innacurate. At least I can say in all honesty that my b20 put out 118.5hp at the rear end

    Nos

120hp at the wheels from a 328??? f**k off, i'm doing 118.5rwhp from a 320!I'd've (<-- can I do that) expected 160hp at the wheels before NOS and 200+ afterwards.

30 is ridiculous, 24 seems only slightly ridiculous. I'd put it closer to 12. And yes we know how rare your car was Paul

    E28 Manual Diff

I've seen E28 diffs on Trademe quite oft but correct me if i'm wrong you can use E30 medium case diffs aswell which you'll find on trademe also, just keep you eyes open. Any ideas of the ratio you want, there are a few around. (was just going to suggest Glenn or Brent...)
  14. Didn't see this the first time I looked in there... Nasty
  15. You've seen mine? Mine are Coby chrome splitters. Ian has some Coby tips too if i'm not mistaken, albeit condom styles...I've currently got a stupid 2 into 1 muffler than I need to change back into a 2 in 2 out. Single pea shooters look ghay so I stuck on some twin tips to take up the space in the rear valance. E: Any decent shop should stock them, maybe even ripco or supercheaps. I got mine from a Pitstop but i've seen them at Tuffy's aswell.
  16. Coby make some nice chrome tipped exhaust splitters It'd have to be M5 g/box if you were going to mate a manual to a V12
  17. I think Tim has either gone op shop or pillaged a grave somewhere
  18. Dude, I take it you have gone down a different path than the p.i.m.p.???
  19. Haha, yeah, my old man has the LP aswell...it's the shizzle alright, light years ahead of it's time
  20. The other downer is the metal pad dust makes the rotors look rusty
  21. Cain, are these mintex 1166 that you rave about a metal based race pad or a daily driver pad? I'm running metal kings for intermarque but I was looking to go down the greens line for normal daily driving. The metal pads are only usable when they've warmed up which just doesn't happen around town plus they squeal. I've also got some chapman pads to try aswell but they're metal based and have a heat dispersion groove so they look to be for the track even more so than the metal kings. Anyone got trade price?

    Idle Fun

Haha, on that theory then I only have a 1000rpm rev band for which to drive in - 4500 and 5500!!!
  23. Yes, do this, it may solve your lack of engine response down low.
  24. That system would definately work better than pointing an extinguisher through the grill before opening the bonnet. I've got one horizontal under my seat and i'm going to put in a second under the passenger seat aswell for good measure. Can never be to cautious.
  25. Welcome the the enigma that is the M20B20 engine Your problem could be anything but it's probably just the fuel mix being off. Could be too rich or too lean. Got pod? Mine does this also but only since I put in a different chip that altered my mix and timing. If you've got an erractic idle that's also normal with the b20 but if it's wildly erratic then you might have a vacuum leak so give your intake a good checking over (see maintenance threads) and perhaps a clean out. Perhaps you may just need a service? Get new filters, oil, and spark plugs. The lights dimming is just the alternator not putting out enough jus.
