    2 Tech 2's

Looks good....how the heck do you get the techII fronts sitting so straight?
  3. Yep, I'll remove the buy now on Trademe. Would be thoroughly ideal if you pick up tomorrow about 3pm - or will replacing the battery take some time?
  4. New price for BS, see above. On trademe
  5. Spotted this on Quay St with an M5 badge, kit and big wheels and exhaust. Sorry if you got a touring full of guys laughing when you floored it.

    $10 Grand E30 Engine

Out of interest - M5x EWS, etc, etc issues are by-passed with an aftermarket ECU? Because at $1600ish dollars a pop - G4 Storm is superb value for money.
  7. ....So just bring this back up. My dash is juuuuuuust starting to crack, as in miniscule/barely visible hairline cracks. Is there absolutely nothing I can do about it?

For future reference - check the ACC fuse if your stereo stops working. It's usually fuse 12, 7.5A Helpful link.

Nah dude, race cars are awesome. If I had time/didn't need a practical car, I'd never have let go of my track hack. Sure did! I was touched Didn't Sam share my amusement with you? Don't worry, I'll look after 'dem tweeter pods - once I get the stereo working Man, Bimmersport has provided some quality procrastination this week....Time to unplugs the interwebs!
  10. Glenn might be able to help. He's a forum sponsor. Click here for details.
  11. Yup. Any change in wheel size was my understanding. I'm guessing there's a clause for using a different sized spare wheel. It's reasonably annoying that cars without certification can run a different wheel every day of the week as long as the rolling diameter is within 2% and there isn't any rubbing or tread outside the guards..
  12. Nathan, technically it's illegal if you run different to cert plate. But most people would be hard pressed to tell the difference. The choice is yours. (I'd go for 7.5"s 'cos it's the max allowable for most 205 width rubber) @ APT, I'm planning on certing the touring for 2.5L and a couple of other things. Am hoping to get 15's, 16's and 17's certed. Ring your local certifier - ask how much more it is for each setup. You'll probably have to bring the wheels you want to be certed during testing I think? Slightly off topic, I find it ridiculous they don't cert rubber sizes instead of wheel sizes. Edit: Westy's probably right. Definitely ring your local certifier.

Cheers for that, now just gotta find time to do it! Yeah, is kinda annoying when following rather smokey/dusty vehicles - can't do anything but shut all the vents Nah, this one is NZ New - German made and first registered in Newton, Auckland in 1989 It's got a darn good heater too! (was freezing last night). Yeah, that was my next step, gonna go pick up some stereo release keys from CamB so I won't have to disassemble the dash!

Righto, cheers guys, well get into it when I can. Lol, so the crazy vent thing is aircon? Btw, I thought working aircon in E30's was a myth, clearly not
  15. My track hack is no longer mine, ended with with this thing (sorry stole Sammy J/Incary's photo for now): Manual M20B25 Simota intake Interior Sport cloth interior Nardi Blackline Maplight'd rear view mirror Sony headunit Rainbow component fronts (with tweeter pods for extra OEM swankyness) Rainbow rear speakers Exterior techII Clear indicators and side markers Suspension Assorted Nolathane bushes Vogtland springs Boge Turbo dampers standard sways Wheels and tyres 15" weaves 205/55R15 Toyo T1R rubber Have spares kicking around: 215/40R17 Re001's (someone sell me their 17"s) Momo Supercup and Protipo for track duty SE wheel On the way: 3.64 LSD Subframe and diff bushes Europlate ...Now, for the real reason I started this thread: 1) The driver side thigh bolster is hanging by the cloth, doesn't seem to be attached to anything - does anyone have diagrams or similar of how the "Recaros" are put together? 2) The headunit doesn't work, I guess I should get a multimeter on it....but anyone know of common problems before I go tearing into it?? Was the ACC fuse. 3) How is your techII front held on? Mine seems to be ziptied in place 4) Are the 325i and 320i BMC's the same? 5) The button to open the hatch is really stiff - is there anyway to make it more useable? My girlfriend struggles to open it! 6) Anyone have a how-to to get the sunroof flush with the roof? http://e30.bmwdiy.info/sunroof-adjust/index.html (Am thinking of vinyling it shut for winter, as it get parked in the open at the workshop...bad idea?) 7) Anyone have decent exhaust guys? CBF trying to drop the whole exhaust just to MIG a tiny bit when it could probably be done in 10min on a hoist. 8) Speedo doesn't work, the speedo plug isn't loose like I though it was, is there a way to check the dash works? Magically started working..... 9) I've never had aftermarket tints in a car before - how do I clean the windows? I'm guessing, not with glass cleaner? No scratching/ammonia 10) WTF is this thing in the centre console? It's aftermarket aircon! Don't get me wrong, it drives extremely well, and my daily commute is now extremely pleasant! Enjoying the heck outta it. ---------------------------------- 16th June Update: Eur0h plated, mmmm more cellphone pix More questions: 11) Do tourings have rear drain holes for the sunroof? I only have drainage in the front two. 12) I attached my plates with 5m of foam tape - is there a more elegant way of doing this? They were bolted to my race car (didn't want them coming off). But I figure I'd go for the clean look this time - but foam tape seems a little, uh, rugged. Btw, didn't enjoy bending the plate to fit the front. Other option is plate frames ----------------------------------- 10th July Update: 'Zorst fixed. Groomed (more cellphone pix): Accidentally an LSD:

^ that's an awesome price... would be a bit more than a replica - but more durable! I'd buy one if I was running standard FL, 'come on guys - support Gavin, he's been a top bloke whenever I've dealt with him.

    $10 Grand E30 Engine

F20c....but probably stretching it with that budget. And car has to either a stripped coupe for f20c. Otherwise, I'd want a holset powered touring/sedan haha.
  21. My culprit was the lower heater hose that goes into the firewall. Check it from the engine bay. It's snuggled right between the engine and the firewall.

    Name this Nardi

Bought a steering wheel off Trademe recently. No idea what it's called, very comfortable and about the same diameter as a techII. 365mm I think? Guy on Trademe said it was a Nardi Blackline (?) But it's got a Torino horn button. Have bunged it in the touring (cos the touring came with a SE wheel), but a friend of mine would like one too....so can anyone help with what it's called? Cheers in advance. edit: Sorry about the cellphone pic
