Great film of a great car, you should both be very proud of your efforts Josh & Conrad.

He's still got both cars, but won't even sell the whole damaged car seperate to the other one !Well, he wouldn't even let me look at it to buy if off him, and I wanted the whole car, a couple of months ago now mind. So not sure he would think of stripping it just yet.

Good to see you are keeping busy Jamez, nice project. Luckily you snapped this up before I heard about it and saved me from making an impulse buy!! Always good to see another VERT on the forum, even if it is a facelift . Good luck with the windows, not an easy part to find as they are special to the convertibles. I know from experience they are hard to find and very pricey to get hold of, especially genuine ones with the right factory tint in them. If you need any pics or parts or info, just give me a holler I may have it laying about in the garage.

I like the rego "EGO TOO FAR" cool...

Tow bars for the E46 wagon are definately different - due to the position of the boot lock. I had to do quite a lot of modifications and make spacers, etc. to fit a coupe one onto my wagon. Coupe to sedan should be ok.Wiring on the facelift is different to the non-facelift and requires a bit more electronics to get it to work properly, especially with LED lights. Are you selling your wagon towbar? If so what is it's rating and how much are you after for it?

Seems about right. Try Gavin at Euro-Italian, forum sponsor, he is very reasonable and good quality.

^^ True. It'll be in fashion in NZ in about 30 years time then...

Hi, welcome to the forums. Have you got any more details of the conversion you have done to the E30 320 to make it into an M3? Sounds interesting. Cheers!

How many E30 M3s were sold as NZ new? What I have been lead to believe is that all of them sold NZ new were converted to RHD due to the regulations at the time. There certainly seem to be quite a high proportion of E30 M3s in NZ that have been converted to RHD, with most of the conversions being done by "Road & Track" (or similar) in Rotorua.

Excellent, today's word of the day, mainly because it is so true.

The BMW Teams have started testing the new DTM car in preparation for the new race season, at the circuit in Estoril, Portugal. Cars are now running in their race colours, some very cool shots... Not too sure about the bright yellow car, the traditional white + "M" colours is my favourite at the moment, great to see the cars painted up, get a better view of what they will look like racing. Just when you think you have seen it all, along comes this... I must be getting old, since when has "Motherf$%#$r" been used as punctuation? Surely there is some sort of dis-connect between the brain and the mouth here, lots of words coming out but nothing making any sense? Mind you I have been in that situation before, usually caused by alcohol, maybe he was p!ssed? As for the car - Xhibit and Pimp My Ride has obviously got a spin off show "Pimp My Ride DIY Disasters" which this guy is aiming for? I do like the roman chariot style spikes coming out of the wheels though, I could see those coming in handy, especially on the Race Car !

From reading that Top Gear link these hot diesels are more like an M325i than an M3. Not really a true "M" car, more a "M-sport" version, it will be interesting to see if the performance diesel makes it into any other models, or purely these M550d, etc. Now, one of those engines in a 3 series coupe and you would be talking... (probably be a bit front heavy if you chucked it in a 1 series!!).

2001 E46 iPhone options
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to pr0fess0r's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
I just fitted an "anycar link" to my E46 for a new iPhone 4S. Only cost $149 and works pretty well. There is also a bluetooth option which is a few $$$s more, I didn't need it as car already has it from factory. The only problem I had with fitting it was mine is a later unit with two extra connectors on the back and it needed a bit of stuffing around to get the factory bluetooth kit to work at the same time as the iphone, but eventually got it sorted thanks to the net. As yours has the factory CD changer there will be a connector you can use no trouble. It doesn't display any info from the iphone and some of the up/down changes from the unit are pretty random on the phone, but overall I am happy with it. I will stick a small "project" thread up when I get 5 minutes. -

Gaaahhh! Wish I was coming up this week-end, will just have to wait and see next week-end. Just make sure none of those cars go home before I get there Foxy!! -
I'm sorry, I must be missing something, or I'm too old. To me it just highlights all the negative aspects of the drifting "scene", what is that supposed to be "Jackass Does Drifting"?? Too much of the flat peak mentality in there. Yes, they are not scared to damage their cars - because they are all sh!t boxes. The standard of the drifting is distinctly average, even with the extensive editing and re-runs for the videos. Look for the "raw" drifting events from Japan - that is what grass roots drifting should be about.

Nice find, thanks for sharing. I am a big fan of those B&H M3s. I love the way they kept referring to the "little" BMWs...

Wow - that is low in the rear! Where is it going to sit with it loaded up with stuff?? Mine is at the standard m-sport height and when it is loaded and towing I am worried about rub - let alone yours!!

On my E46 there is another knob / dial between the centre air vents in the dash with markings from blue through to red, which seems to have some effect on the air coming out the top - maybe a kind of dual zone for the air-con. Have you tried adjusting that at the same time?
