  1. How many E30 M3s were sold as NZ new? What I have been lead to believe is that all of them sold NZ new were converted to RHD due to the regulations at the time. There certainly seem to be quite a high proportion of E30 M3s in NZ that have been converted to RHD, with most of the conversions being done by "Road & Track" (or similar) in Rotorua.
  2. Excellent, today's word of the day, mainly because it is so true.
  3. The BMW Teams have started testing the new DTM car in preparation for the new race season, at the circuit in Estoril, Portugal. Cars are now running in their race colours, some very cool shots... Not too sure about the bright yellow car, the traditional white + "M" colours is my favourite at the moment, great to see the cars painted up, get a better view of what they will look like racing. More pics and info here.. http://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?...0878&type=1
  4. Just when you think you have seen it all, along comes this... I must be getting old, since when has "Motherf$%#$r" been used as punctuation? Surely there is some sort of dis-connect between the brain and the mouth here, lots of words coming out but nothing making any sense? Mind you I have been in that situation before, usually caused by alcohol, maybe he was p!ssed? As for the car - Xhibit and Pimp My Ride has obviously got a spin off show "Pimp My Ride DIY Disasters" which this guy is aiming for? I do like the roman chariot style spikes coming out of the wheels though, I could see those coming in handy, especially on the Race Car !
  5. From reading that Top Gear link these hot diesels are more like an M325i than an M3. Not really a true "M" car, more a "M-sport" version, it will be interesting to see if the performance diesel makes it into any other models, or purely these M550d, etc. Now, one of those engines in a 3 series coupe and you would be talking... (probably be a bit front heavy if you chucked it in a 1 series!!).
  6. I just fitted an "anycar link" to my E46 for a new iPhone 4S. Only cost $149 and works pretty well. There is also a bluetooth option which is a few $$$s more, I didn't need it as car already has it from factory. The only problem I had with fitting it was mine is a later unit with two extra connectors on the back and it needed a bit of stuffing around to get the factory bluetooth kit to work at the same time as the iphone, but eventually got it sorted thanks to the net. As yours has the factory CD changer there will be a connector you can use no trouble. It doesn't display any info from the iphone and some of the up/down changes from the unit are pretty random on the phone, but overall I am happy with it. I will stick a small "project" thread up when I get 5 minutes.
  7. Stop teasing me I cant take it any more!! Wish I was flying north right now not south!! Not sure if I can last another week!!
  8. Gaaahhh! Wish I was coming up this week-end, will just have to wait and see next week-end. Just make sure none of those cars go home before I get there Foxy!!
  9. I'm sorry, I must be missing something, or I'm too old. To me it just highlights all the negative aspects of the drifting "scene", what is that supposed to be "Jackass Does Drifting"?? Too much of the flat peak mentality in there. Yes, they are not scared to damage their cars - because they are all sh!t boxes. The standard of the drifting is distinctly average, even with the extensive editing and re-runs for the videos. Look for the "raw" drifting events from Japan - that is what grass roots drifting should be about.
  10. Nice find, thanks for sharing. I am a big fan of those B&H M3s. I love the way they kept referring to the "little" BMWs...
  11. What's a probox? 325i Manual 'vert in Lachssilber low kms could be available to the right buyer.. ?
  12. Wow - that is low in the rear! Where is it going to sit with it loaded up with stuff?? Mine is at the standard m-sport height and when it is loaded and towing I am worried about rub - let alone yours!!
  13. On my E46 there is another knob / dial between the centre air vents in the dash with markings from blue through to red, which seems to have some effect on the air coming out the top - maybe a kind of dual zone for the air-con. Have you tried adjusting that at the same time?
  14. Finally got the bluetooth, iPhone adaptor and stereo to play nicely in the E46! Right what's next on the list...
  15. Yes, you would have to pay GST on top, but that is the only import duty. MAF, etc. would be well covered in the 7,000 shipping (probably get it for less than that if you shop around). I worked it out that there wasn't too much fat in it for the importer, couple of grand or something. However, that was based on paying the asking price in the UK, could well haggle that down, especially if you are an importer that buys from Sytner regularly.
  16. Nice car. Will be phenominally quick. And will be beautifully balanced in the handling. But still a Honda.
  17. I have got spare lights, both types - sealed beam and bulb. Drop round and we can have a look at what you need.
  18. The Nazis only come out when you start trying to school someone else incorrectly, like you did with the comments in your post. Like I said, i'm here to help. Also, Nazis is a plural, not a possessive pro-noun so doesn't need the apostrophe (sorry couldn't resist ) GLWS. /thread.
  19. Actually, if it's short for Fixed Price Offers then it's an acronym, not an abbreviation. An abbreviation is the shortening of one word, for example accom, instead of accommodation, using the first letters of more than one word is an acronym. And while we're there it might be worth pointing out that the apostrophe is not required either and it should be written FPOs . Glad I could help, carry on.
  20. ^^ This!! Way to p!ss Rich off Andy. Always the way, never one around when you want one, soon as you go for option B, one will turn up. As soon as I saw this - I thought "ideal start for a race car". If only you could get E30 M3's for that money !
  21. Doh! It's been a looooonnggg day, brain not functioning apologies to all concerned.
  22. Looking goooood there Glenn, if it were me I would add: 18" CSL reps or BBS CH's (but then I am biased). Carbon fibre vinyl over the wood trim. "M" badge on the boot If it's for summer cruising, keep the tiptronic box, if you want to sporty it up a bit - S54 + 6sp manual !
  23. New owner would need to update the authority card anyway, just send off the form and $60 to change it over to the new name. Then take the card with you when the car goes for a WoF, simple. Not competing in the two events in the year isn't an issue when you change the owner over.
  24. I'd better get my finger out for this show'n'shine thing then - sounds like there is going to be some competition!!
