  1. Finally got the bluetooth, iPhone adaptor and stereo to play nicely in the E46! Right what's next on the list...
  2. Yes, you would have to pay GST on top, but that is the only import duty. MAF, etc. would be well covered in the 7,000 shipping (probably get it for less than that if you shop around). I worked it out that there wasn't too much fat in it for the importer, couple of grand or something. However, that was based on paying the asking price in the UK, could well haggle that down, especially if you are an importer that buys from Sytner regularly.
  3. Nice car. Will be phenominally quick. And will be beautifully balanced in the handling. But still a Honda.
  4. I have got spare lights, both types - sealed beam and bulb. Drop round and we can have a look at what you need.
  5. The Nazis only come out when you start trying to school someone else incorrectly, like you did with the comments in your post. Like I said, i'm here to help. Also, Nazis is a plural, not a possessive pro-noun so doesn't need the apostrophe (sorry couldn't resist ) GLWS. /thread.
  6. Actually, if it's short for Fixed Price Offers then it's an acronym, not an abbreviation. An abbreviation is the shortening of one word, for example accom, instead of accommodation, using the first letters of more than one word is an acronym. And while we're there it might be worth pointing out that the apostrophe is not required either and it should be written FPOs . Glad I could help, carry on.
  7. ^^ This!! Way to p!ss Rich off Andy. Always the way, never one around when you want one, soon as you go for option B, one will turn up. As soon as I saw this - I thought "ideal start for a race car". If only you could get E30 M3's for that money !
  8. Doh! It's been a looooonnggg day, brain not functioning apologies to all concerned.
  9. Looking goooood there Glenn, if it were me I would add: 18" CSL reps or BBS CH's (but then I am biased). Carbon fibre vinyl over the wood trim. "M" badge on the boot If it's for summer cruising, keep the tiptronic box, if you want to sporty it up a bit - S54 + 6sp manual !
  10. New owner would need to update the authority card anyway, just send off the form and $60 to change it over to the new name. Then take the card with you when the car goes for a WoF, simple. Not competing in the two events in the year isn't an issue when you change the owner over.
  11. I'd better get my finger out for this show'n'shine thing then - sounds like there is going to be some competition!!
  12. Yup, that should fix it!! Some nice goodies there Rich, will make a pretty serious package when it is all together.
  13. A good start, time for a beer! Nice looking steering wheel - not seen one like that before, you do seem to be missing a third pedal though ?
  14. What Glenn said +1 Have a good Christmas & here's to a great 2012.
  15. I believe that was a 2.5ltr Andy, and I also believe it was the one on TradeMe a couple of months back - a lovely engine with lots of nice bits, but unfortunately it was a 2.5ltr which doesn't fit my plans.
  16. Good idea, which Gavin, Hi-Velocity or Euro-Italian?? I should probably give Ray a call and Mike Mosen, they might have heard of something tucked away somewhere.
  17. Some double ups from the link above with some other car related fails in here too.. http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/2011-car-...12-22?imageNo=0 Rednecks rule!!
  18. I have been looking for an S14 motor for quite a while now for a little project I have in mind, and before I go and commit to a gamble on buying something from overseas thought I would ask if there is anything available in NZ? It needs to be either a B23 or B20 version, not the over-bored B25 ones. Preferrably a complete engine set up, motor, ancilliaries, ECU, loom, etc, but let me know what you have got and how much you would be looking to get for it.

Dan, it's a fact of life today in the automotive world. To make anything financially viable it's all about volume, so an affordable niche sports car would never get into production unless it can be sold in a number of different guises. The use of a common floorpan and drivetrain across a number of different models (and even makers badges on the front) has become more and more widespread over the last few years. Plus sharing of engines, gearboxes, etc across cars and makers as well. Whilst it may detract from the idea of this car, as it is no longer just a Toyota, and hard to tell from the Scooby version, it is the basis that sells the whole idea and gets it off the drawing board which must be a good thing.
  20. I love your buying process Clinton, start off with a list that includes the GTR, M5, M3, 996 Turbo and end up with.. ...a diesel X5 (that's not even on the list to start with!!). A very good truck granted, but still not an obvious choice given the list you started from. I hope it lasts you well and you are happy with it.
  21. Very nice. Great photos of a great car, in a great colour, in great condition!
  22. You would be best to check this out before you bring the car over. I'm not 100% but I think that the car won't be able to be WoF'd under any category as it won't be able to get through compliance. You will still be able to use it as a purely race car, but not as a road legal race car. The Motorsport exemption only applies to cars which are road legal, but have cages, etc.
  23. ...otherwise Foxy would have snapped it up long before now !!
  24. Probably got both in my box of bits if you want to call round and have a look.
