steering wheel can stay on, Just have the key in so the steering lock is off so you can turn the wheel if needed.

oh theres a new thing where parking wardens can fine you for a damaged tyre but if you get a written letter saying its safe from a tyre store there ment to wipe the ticket.
-
haha... Yeah ive heard it aswel. doesnt sound loud enough to need a cert of anykind. (unless a new hole has appeared) pretty sure my wagons standard system is louder. Its a bit strange how the cop picked and chose randomly what offenses he would let you off and which ones he wouldn't tho. Ild prob get a workshop, or pit stop to have a look at your exhaust , and get them to write a letter to say that the exhaust is infact standard and write in to wellington police station and contest the fine. You might be able to get off, just like you can with the new "damaged tyre" parking warden fines.

the over heat warning is for water temp i think. so check your sensors and connections. ( might just be for prefacelifts) Not sure about the odometer reading. Is it in kms or miles? might make a difference with the trip meter?

The owner is a retard, would be hard to believe a word he says, I dont think he'll get what he wants for it and withdraw it. would be a nice car to have but i think ild rather put 10k in saving towards a genuine m3 e30. Edit .. just got this in an email from trade me. "We have concerns about the listing for the BMW 325i E30 5SPD 1986 (#233552106) which you viewed on the Trade Me website recently. The listing was created by an overseas scammer and it is not genuine. The vehicle does not exist." Think they might be a little over top that the vehicle doesnt exist , but funny how he can never seem to list it successfully

I might be completely off , But Can you represent yourself in court? Ive represented myself in the past rather than paying 1000$ for a lawyer buy I was the defendant. (sustained loss of traction, Verdict not guilty) Im not sure if its the same in your case. But it sounds like its pretty strait forward to prove that its your design and that hes stolen it so you may not need a lawyer in the court room with you to get it across to the judge. http://www.howtolaw.co.nz/html/ml086.asp

only have gold ones left i think, 22$ including postage need to be slightly modded to fit some cars but is easy enough to do
-
M50 engines use different sizes for manual or auto, M20 use the same throughout im pretty sure, except older ones have a larger sized casing but teeth are same
-
hate to say it but i think your going to have to drop the box again and take a second look. first thing to try is to manually crank the engine , listen for grinding rubbing and feel how stiff it is, Generally its not that hard to manually crank a sweet motor so if your struggling to get it to move ild say you have a jam somewhere. Flywheel hitting something etc.

When it comes to teabagging i think Sam + fort'e takes the cake so far hahaha You know you're obsessed when you unintentionally start a wrecking yard while trying to supply your own need (greed) .

E30 shape? What mods have been fitted ? alarm etc?

Theres really no easy fix unfortunately , depending on the depth of the scratch it may have to be sanded right back or even filled to get rid of it before a re spray can go on. if you have insurance you will prob pay a 1000$ excess but you can take the car to the best painter available and get a mint job. or option two would be to ask around and see if any panel beater/ painters are looking for Cash work. In these times theres a few out there willing so you might be able to get a bit of a discount. Its a pain, Had it happen on my old e30 a few years ago aswel. Jealous pricks or something.

As glen said, Just keep the top bolted in so you dont have all the weight on the control arm, Then turn the wheel inwards towards the headlights you will see a sort of flatter spot on the strut there (this is where you hit it with the hammer). Also keep the nut loosely on the control arm ball joint so that if you do somehow hit it you dont damage the thread. Hit the strut not the control arm. easy as pie after the first time

some one should be cheeky and leave a note on the window with an offer for the center caps off the weaves before they go to the scrap man.
-
mite sound obvious but did you re connect the earth strap from engine to chassis once you put the engine back in?
-
With the car as stripped as you have it it shouldnt be too hard to trace the alarm wires. Might take you an hour or so, But all you are doing is rejoining the seperated cables (re matching color simply). Most likely will be under steering or behind where the head unit was.
