Amazon TRW p/n for M3s LCAs, can often find them for dirt cheap.

Looked up the vin for your 130, its standard hydraulic steering not EPS or active, there is no Msport rack, in fact its very likely has the exact same rack as your E91 p/n 32106777464 Tyres / Alignment / bad spring/damper rates etc? I have a 330 and 130, and they are different cars. 130 is way more hyper active and darty, 330i feels more planted and sure footed.130 will leave the 330 for dead on corners and in a straight line.

Now we are getting somewhere, there is something weird happening with logging data rate via K+DCAN cable and android headunit (every 7ish seconds the rate fluctuates in the CSVs) , done via bluetooth and phone its looking much more like an N52 dyno and the numbers make sense.... its also very repeatable, will be better if I can find a smoother road. 226 whp

TRW Ultras, never used them before so will find out. 130 has Brembo NAO ceramic pads and they seem really good.

New ATE rotors, ceramic pads and fluid change.... after having to break out a 4 foot powerbar to get the wheelnuts undone (f**ken apes...)

Its pretty mad in person, I actually think proportions are better than genuine E30 M3

1 of 196 2011's, look like Advan RS2s?... and luggage straps! https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3292542749 edit - its actually a 2010 - WBAUD52080J012341

Tried doing some "dyno pulls" yesterday, I think most of my problem is that 2nd gear (tops at just under 100) is too short to get enough data points, and is resulting in bogus numbers. Need to try third on a private road..... Dont really care about how accurate they are, as long as repeatable and scale properly. Also heard the beginnings of DISA rattle, its faint but there (they're original!)... instead of ordering new DISAs have ordered the repair kits for them both, which makes all the mechanics metal rather than stock plastic. Going to have time to kill..

With the never-ending and not ending any time soon lockdown, which has delayed my fancy pants exhaust (shops over the wall in the land of the used-to-be free) Im considering doing the engine swap sooner than planned, as soon as I can get a nice repeatable dyno done on this engine (using logs). Got a question for those that have pulled the engine on E8/9x N52s... Will be done on jack stands and with engine hoist with the front end removed etc, Im wondering if the best plan of attack is to drop the subframe while engine and box are support by engine hoist which should make getting the engine and tranny out, and back in, easier with more clearance (particularly around the engine mounts). Is it worth the extra work to drop it?

It wont be, fedex are solid and not USPS. It might go on a journey to Aussie for a quick stop over though. Seems to be determined on flight schedule out of Hawaii.

neither do "bmw" 😛

Flagged as porn. That is stunning... The same company that used to make that now makes iXs, at some point something has gone very wrong.

Apparently E36 M3 weigh in at 1475kg too.... iron block Vs all the airbags and sh*t of modern car I guess. Im curious to weigh my wheels (and tyres) now.
-
Engine/gearbox/diff/shafts/brakes etc are all bigger on 130. Theyre advertised as 1350kg stock, but I suspect that is dry (and with helium in cabin) and stuff like manual seats. My car certainly wont be the lightest 130, but I think BMWs numbers are a bit goofy. 330 touring is 1700 odd at the tip scales.

Weighed my car - Manual, full tank of gas, birds sway bars, BBK, SMF and 19s (with no meatsack) - 1475kg. She got big bones. Now for science!
-
Any suggestion on best place to get a vehicle weighed? Weigh bridge at the tip seems a little crude, want a reasonably accurate number for some math and logging.

Stumbled on this, pretty rare car - https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/330i/listing/3209186894?bof=JPXZF0c8

Been looking at 130i prices around the world, NZ has the cheapest 130s by a LONG way, we probably have the largest number per capita too. Average aussie auto 130i is 15kAUD + duties, manuals are closer to 20. UK is circa 7000 pound private for similar vehicle (rustier.. ) (~13,500NZD), German prices for similar car is around 11000 euro (18k NZD). Even the Japanese auction houses are ~$12,000NZD+ imported which means the NZ japanese import dealers are not making much on them. Our market is obviously skewed by cheap japanese imports... the question is when do the imports dry up? Japans domestic stock has to dry up as some point, or maybe the coming (or current) regulations will stop making them as feasible to import for peanuts and we will see a big correction in 130 pricing. Might be time to stock up

Yeah seems to be the biggest issue with it, my 130 lives inside and only comes out when the sun shines now, so shouldn't really be too much of a problem. I'm surprised how controversial deleting the cowl is, peoples reviews are all over the place as well - Water drips on engine cover/water doesnt drip on engine cover/makes a huge difference to cabin noise/makes no difference to cabin noise.... One thing is for certain is it weighs a ton and gets in the way for maintenance. One way to find out Worst case Ill put it back in.

Includes. https://burgertuning.com/products/bms-cowl-filters?_pos=1&_sid=de230fe37&_ss=r $230 or whatever for the filters, replacement moulded covers for the electronics and bracket to support the loom seemed pretty reasonable to me. Haters gonna Hate 😛

If you took a survey of x number of cars, I would put money on the ones running lingpingpowsuperstones also being the ones with dripping with oil leaks and green coolant in the radiator and 91 in the tank. Whereas if the car has PS4Ss or similar on it, signficantly more likely that the previous owner gave a sh*t and had funds to properly maintain it. Its not particularly controversial and is particularly applicable to NZ BMWs, where they are cheap to buy and expensive to maintain.
