  1. Yeah, its horse for courses though. The longterm tyre review online for them says 20,000km with a couple of track days (tuned sti wrx). Does it make sense on A-B transport, no. Does it make sense for a toy... arguably

^ This, its night and day even when mildly driving hard. I spent nearly half what I paid for the Birds B1 package on the 130, including the quaife. Was it worth it? Financially no it makes no sense, but would I do it again - Yes. One could make the same argument about any performance leaning car though. If you want to make wise financial decisions, buy a leaf.
  3. Couple of weeks on these tyres, the grip levels are epic, the front end rails around anything you throw at it at legal speeds. Definitely recommended for a cheapish performance tyre. No idea on how they are in the wet, or how well they wear, but goddamn grip conquers all Ordered a new radiator and a few more little bits left to swap engines, about all thats left is doing it.

  5. Well.. thats different https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3346176183?bof=zPTWCZRS
  6. Think thats Serenas old car from BMW 130 owners group, was really nice tidy example a few years ago, had the plate IBEAM, she did all the blue bits and wheels.
  7. And now the jap imports are claiming to be NZ new.... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3338575474
  8. Went and got a wheel alignment, got asked if I knew @Matt, they tell our cars apart by the brake caliper colours
  9. Nobody killed themselves , I suspect the wrecker spat out his XXXX when checked his google reviews in the morning though.
  10. Or perhaps one struggling guy buys an engine he expects to bolt into the family car and drive his family around, but finds he spent his savings on an anchor the wrecker wont replace, and then Swings and roundabouts, the wrecker had a shitty reputation before, now he better hope customers dont find them online before purchasing. Good rule of thumb tends to be dont be a prat, karmas a bitch.
  11. This is entertaining to watch, MCM buys an potato engine from wrecker, wrecker does the (sadly nearly normal now) scummy wrecker thing and then the internet happens with 3.6 million subscribers. Their google reviews are getting crushed, social media getting slammed.... and probably deservedly. Kinda need to be careful whos on the other end of the phone, if the wrecker had been straight up and fixed the problem honorably they would have 3.6 million people giving them a high five. Southport Wreckers in Queensland if ya wanna watch the fallout.
  12. Very pretty touring at Totara Park MTB track.
  13. 99 problems and an E6x is guaranteed to be one of them. In all seriousness, damn!.

    Quick Questions

Anyone know where id get 95%+ Formic Acid in NZ (and online), need to melt me some BMW plastic.
  15. Not amazing I suspect, few reviews saying they aquaplane in heavy downpours, although are DOT approved.
  16. Decided I like em. ET38 18x8.5 definitely about the sane limit with these tyres (235/40), maybe et35 and 225s would work if wanted to try push it. Gave it the mandatory B road blat, kinda scary not knowing where the limit actually is on the Falken RT615k+, particularly as the initial turn in grip on them is insane. Bit more noisey than RE003s but not night and day, but OMG does it feel like it wants to change directions quick, going to be fun tyres.
  17. Overwhelming urge to go hang a wheel off a sharp cliff edge whilst all crossed up.
  18. Its a drone/spaceship Was used for testing quadplane hybrid beta code last year - https://ardupilot.org/plane/docs/quadplane-support.html
  19. Yeah I like the ACS Type IVs too, Im being a weight weeny and want to start playing with it on track. Ill probably keep them in the corner. ACS Type IV 19x8.5 235/35/19 - RE003 - 24.86kg R5 18x8.5 235/40/18 - RT615K+ - 21.3kg 14.24kg of unsprung mass.... not insignificant.
  20. These might be even more polarizing than ACS Type IVs Flow formed, 900kg rated, right offsets and most importantly - available. Also some sticky rubber to suit. Will weigh them and compare
