  1. My whole 130 is polybushed (superpro is what id recommend, they actually fit...)... I did it in my carport, build thread with pics on here. I dont mind the NVH at all. Its not a small job to do and seems less bandaidy than inserts. It sounds like your bushes are totally f**ked in saying that, so inserts probably not a good idea.
  2. Also this getting some work
  3. The 1.5l toyota that sips 91 will be seeing far more km on the odo...
  4. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/car-parts-accessories/wheels-tyres/alloy-wheels/listing/3506229057
  5. Get it scanned, or better yet get bimmergeeks protools (its worth it) and see what its doing. Getting a decent scan tool is pretty much mandatory purchase when buying a BMW of this vintage, removes 99% of the guess work. You wont bust it running a map, unless its a horrendous one. It might have a 130i map on it or something (which are available online for free).
  6. My 130 throws cat check errors on less than 98, since I reset the DME adaptation on 98. Could be similar, but as above... what are the codes.
  7. Get some Bilstein's B6/B8s from FCPeuro etc. I think the set for my 330 was like $1200 including shipping. The OE Sachs are like $80 each.
  8. 450-500ish driving normally probably, if you nana'd in eco mode it says 590 on full tank. I think its a 65l tank, or around that. Definitely bigger than 50. As a "do everything" car, would be pretty solid thing to get.
  9. Everything with AMI, never had an issue at all (even with agreed value insurance etc on modified cars), good rates as well.
  10. Hard at work! I can see these things being the source of drivetrain swaps in the future.
  11. europcar, its not even that expensive. About the only thing I dont like is the steering, same as all "modern" cars, it feels like a video game controller with bad force feedback. Quick as sh*t and nice to drive though, and the ZF 8 speed is stunner.
  12. Just picked up my Stinger GT Rental in Chch, road trip for work to Hanmer tomorrow, then Lewis pass, 2 hours work in Westport, then next day for Hokitika followed by 2 hours work, then back to Chch via Arthurs pass. This thing is actual legit, Kia went from making boring as sh*t whiteware cars to an actual legit thing... even has a real LSD. I might now be a Kia fanboi.
  13. The good thing is they are aluminium and easy to drill out, then slap an ezout or whatever in (even jamming the right sized screw stick in it will provide enough torque)
  14. Bump, looked up replacement value of these - looking at around 7k NZD
  15. Wreckers - Hit up HellBM etc. The 135i backbox fits in the factory location, unlike most exhaust shops will try stick a 5" stainless cannon on the back, which look like sh*t. Very well documented mod to 130s.... The best mod to them is a proper LSD though.
  16. The best option will be to start with a 135i backbox, from an N55 is the one to go for if you can find it, the turbo engines have less muffled backboxes due to the turbos muting them, hangers will require remounted to suit the hatch mounting points but is otherwise reversable back to stock. If thats not loud enough get the resonator replaced with a Y pipe. Wheels will depend on what you want, finding a decent wheel in the right specs isnt that easy so that will dictate where you buy from more than anything. I have ACS Type IVs (ACS1 kit) for sale at the moment.
  17. 95/96 when thats all thats around and stuck in the wopwops, 98 otherwise... mines at 290,000km now (170,000 of them me) I forced DME adaptations on 98, it definitely runs better on it than 96 now (I seem to get cat check errors regularly if fed it 96, if reset DME adaptation on 96 that might go away.. but meh) Walk away from one thats been fed 91, owners a tool
  18. I wouldnt touch BM workshop personally, had too many issues. Basic sh*t being butchered a few times there. Id totally recommend http://www.pandsauto.co.nz/ - P&S autos know 130s well now, they apparently look after me and Matts cars and I have zippo complaints. (also one of the few places Id go for an alignment... they know their sh*t). I also wouldnt bother with mechanical warranty on a 130, there isn't much that's particularly expensive to go wrong, provide you dont start with a lemon that has something like chewed out ledge seals.
  19. AC Schnitzer Type IV 19x8.5 ET42 Genuine ACS IVs. Rare wheels. BMW E87 fitment, but will suit others. Can throw in some hubcentric 10mm spacers for aggressive rear fitment. Includes hubcentric rings and lock bolts. https://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/bmw/1/e87-1-series-5-doors-e81-1-series-3-doors.html Pretty decent condition, some minor kerbing and paint chipping. Were refurbed a couple of years ago with new genuine centre caps etc. RE003 235x35 tyres with heeeeaps of life left (2 of them only done maybe 1000km) $1800 ono
