That was Kevin Birds old car, the engines epic!
-
Slowly creeping up the 300,000km point to put the fresh engine in, just because I want 300,000km on the OG engine when I pull it apart... for giggles (still runs fine). Ive also been struggling to find a clutch kit, the current clutch in it has 60,000km on it and is absolutely fine, but seems dumb to not throw a new plate at it when the box and engine are separate (box will be going to KB to freshen up) . Clutch service kit is a Valeo 828533 which is out of stock and backordered everywhere, I suspect the SMF conversion likely is using a clutch from another car with the same splines as BMW (or perhaps an early SMF BMW) , but no idea which, anyone have any ideas on how I could figure out what its from so I can look at other options rather than Valeo?

Swapping in a 2.8 is going to be WAY cheaper than any supercharger... but as above. Just drive it and pay the bills.

200,000km is the break in period, not high ks Depends what service history is, my stock clutch lasted 230,000km etc. If hasnt had them done, you can expect at 230,000 - Sump gasket leak, rocker cover leaks, oil cooler leaks Waterpump (likely has been done by 230,000... mine was still going though) Suspension bushes shagged Guibos torn and centre hanger bearing sad Clutch and DMF Shifter bushes Diff bearings and seals Vanos solenoids dicky/coked up DISA valves rattly, particularly if - CCV failed and dumping oil into intake Nothing is particularly scary or expensive, and once done will go another 200,000+ km.

But with mercs you see in traffic you dont have to dry heave, even if they are fairly generic they arent appalling. BMW have lost their way big time, not just in styling but in their brand ethos as a whole. I appreciate they also have to make money, but at what cost....

I did a 5.4s 0-60 with 130, its definitely all about putting it down - LSD and decent tyres make all the difference.

Just the hub with no drum brake?

Ahh bugger, I just looked it up and E46 coding is on the road map for it though (apparently some things work - join beta program on google play store). It gets regular updates and devs still very active

+9000 Grab yourself Bimmergeeks protools by the way, its like Carly, but good, and a one off purchase.

I checked my bank account, it said no, despite over whelming want.

I get the impression everything is selling slowly at the moment, including petrol cars. Id hold on to it for a bit, 8k is cheap.

During the last 2 years, when petty crime was insane around here (nice neighbourhood with walking access from a bad one), I have called one 111 about 6 times in total. People smashing car windows down street, group of kids stealing sh*t and running amuck, guy throwing punches at his car/house/letterbox while screaming, etc etc... cops turned up once. Still have a whole bunch of stolen crap under the tree in park next to house 6 months later... Im not blaming individual officers at all, but the police are pretty bloody ineffectual and its a systemic problem. I have zero faith if I actually needed them they would be here on time, if at all, hence have a number of 1/2" drive power bars around house...

Gaddamnit... I would have so got this

Ordered 2 from Maxton, M3AN got the other, shipping works out better

Its listed wrong on their website, fits the aero spoiler fine, its on my pre lci
-
I guess Ill keep em then

My whole 130 is polybushed (superpro is what id recommend, they actually fit...)... I did it in my carport, build thread with pics on here. I dont mind the NVH at all. Its not a small job to do and seems less bandaidy than inserts. It sounds like your bushes are totally f**ked in saying that, so inserts probably not a good idea.

Also this getting some work

E89 2.5 Jap import only runs on 98
Jacko replied to First Timer's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
Get it scanned, or better yet get bimmergeeks protools (its worth it) and see what its doing. Getting a decent scan tool is pretty much mandatory purchase when buying a BMW of this vintage, removes 99% of the guess work. You wont bust it running a map, unless its a horrendous one. It might have a 130i map on it or something (which are available online for free). -

My 130 throws cat check errors on less than 98, since I reset the DME adaptation on 98. Could be similar, but as above... what are the codes. -
My Lovely Lady Bumps.

Get some Bilstein's B6/B8s from FCPeuro etc. I think the set for my 330 was like $1200 including shipping. The OE Sachs are like $80 each.

Project Binky. That is all.
