  1. Anyone got any use for Pre-LCI black/silver alu Msport interior trim pieces, door cards/lowerdash/glove box etc. My pile of BMW bits is getting too big, if anyone wants them yell out and freebies, or they'll get spring cleaned. Probably worth $2000 in 10 years time when 130s Msports become the new E30 325s 😛
  2. Just in case someone has one lying around, rocking horse sh*t Needs to be PreLCI, with the CCV return. pn 11137539413
  3. Its a fun job aye Engine mounts/waterpump/etc are all easier than doing the starter. That block of heating connectors is a SOB, worst designed thing for install removal ever. Ive done it about 4 different ways now, thinking there must be easier way.. there isnt, the BMW gods require the sacrifice forearm flesh and blood.
  4. Im sure someone's put in a secondary tap to get pressure before, it might be possible to Y off the oil pressure switch and put a second one in there?
  5. Holds the oil filter housing on At least on N52 its not wet (with the factory oil cooler). Im pretty sure they're the same on all N5x's though, as the housing and oil coolers are all interchangeable.
  6. Ordered some 95A revshift poly ones, I seem to be pretty tolerant of NVH so will try my luck (35 profile tyres and fully polybushed car.. and I think its fine daily ) . At least easy to change if they do introduce to much noise.

I think if you passed someone on a trail with this rather than the "dick" response you'd get from calling "on your left", you would actually get punched. I like the crank bros wheels...
  8. What will be interesting will be seeing how the B58s age, having passed Toyotas reliability requirements. Either BMW up'd their game, or Toyota dropped theirs
  9. Anyone running PU gearbox mounts? Im curious as to how much an increase in NVH there is (ordering bits for when engine and box come out)
  10. Whos keen.... I wonder whats inside it. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001851097049.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.616f5079anqZE3&algo_pvid=2f602aeb-9a17-4042-afec-88936ba328aa&algo_exp_id=2f602aeb-9a17-4042-afec-88936ba328aa-11&pdp_ext_f={"sku_id"%3A"12000017853427568"}
  11. N52s are arguably one of the most reliable engines BMW has ever made, not exactly toyota 4AFE reliable, but still reliable and shitloads more entertaining than a 90s economy toyota engine. Whereas the 4 pots are less reliable than a 4AFE, and less entertaining. There really isnt anything redeeming about them to justify the reliability issues, spending money and time on solving problems on something that doesnt bring smiles when working isnt particularly appealing.
  12. Pretty sure I regularly see that E46 outside mitre 10 in Papakura
  13. The pumps normally throw intermittent hissy fits before complete failure, which results in a calling a tow truck. As above, scan it and fix it before having to call the tow truck.
  14. Hyundai i30N, or wait for the gazoo corolla and get awd. Also, thats not a BMW 😛
  15. Would make a great 7 series
  16. Welll... thats different https://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/cars/how-could-we-possibly-forget-autech-zagato-stelvio
  17. Its missing the only option that matters 😛
  18. scractching my head on that too, looks kinda french 😕
  19. Some valvetronics pics. Kinda cool how it actually staggers intake valves opening on same cylinder, I'm assuming to induce a swirl pattern. Teeny oil gallery's on the bottom of the supports. The other curious thing is that the followers are actually completely floating, the only thing stopping them flying off into scenery is the eccentric shaft and the springs. MILVs tomorrows, after cleaning the bits that are staying, big thanks to @Matt for lending me the spring tool, works legit.
  20. Im guessing they were speeding.
  21. Diff make a huge difference to driveability?, that thing must be hilarious with an open diff in the wet (or dry)
  22. I have 4, all random brands from amazon, cost a couple of hundy all up and are decent enough quality for the home gamer... torque wrenches last forever provided you dont use them as hammers and reset them to zero after use. 1/4" is a must have for N52s, aluminium bolts that are all tiny torques.
  23. Has anyone actually gone and looked at this one? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3214279486?bof=PP3R3Ucc Its been up for awhile, but is very cheap and has some good bits (if in need of TLC) Wondering how bad it is in person, underneath the dealer slime.
