  1. Would make a great 7 series
  2. Welll... thats different https://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/cars/how-could-we-possibly-forget-autech-zagato-stelvio
  3. Its missing the only option that matters 😛
  4. scractching my head on that too, looks kinda french 😕
  5. Some valvetronics pics. Kinda cool how it actually staggers intake valves opening on same cylinder, I'm assuming to induce a swirl pattern. Teeny oil gallery's on the bottom of the supports. The other curious thing is that the followers are actually completely floating, the only thing stopping them flying off into scenery is the eccentric shaft and the springs. MILVs tomorrows, after cleaning the bits that are staying, big thanks to @Matt for lending me the spring tool, works legit.
  6. Im guessing they were speeding.
  7. Diff make a huge difference to driveability?, that thing must be hilarious with an open diff in the wet (or dry)
  8. I have 4, all random brands from amazon, cost a couple of hundy all up and are decent enough quality for the home gamer... torque wrenches last forever provided you dont use them as hammers and reset them to zero after use. 1/4" is a must have for N52s, aluminium bolts that are all tiny torques.
  9. Has anyone actually gone and looked at this one? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3214279486?bof=PP3R3Ucc Its been up for awhile, but is very cheap and has some good bits (if in need of TLC) Wondering how bad it is in person, underneath the dealer slime.
  10. Agreed bang for buck RE003s are pretty solid, there are definitely better tyres out there.. but not for the price point. Makes it hurt less when driving like a tool. Square setups definitely drive the best, but I doubt you'll notice much between 215/225. Id bang more of the same on.
  11. Thats not just modern BMW ugly, thats proper U.G.L.Y ugly.
  12. Vanos filters... hair removed Little bit of carbon sitting in them, all squishes when touched.
  13. $150ish incl gst, 5 or 6 and a description
  14. The one on the car at the moment is just surface stuff at the moment, might be a good solution to try save that one. Can you recommend somewhere?
  15. Yeah id be worried the temp would warp it 😕
  16. Wouldnt ship it to NZ, strangely.
  17. Shiney cleaned and benched injectors from injectortech in, during level 4 (legend), and have a new rockercover coming from ECS... (ouch). Wondering if its worth trying to paint this one to give it some more protection than stock, at $700USD I dont really want to be buying multiple of these. Best as I can tell they are sprayed with aluminized coating to stop corrosion.. Im wondering if VHT or similar (nothing gaudy!) over the stock coating will improve lifespan of it? Hopefully MILVs arrive this week and can bang them in.
  18. Easy peazy via Leon, 14k is reasonable. Insurance sorted.
  19. UK didnt get that many (only have ~1000 still registered). 14000 seems like the right number, its just in NZ our fleet gets skewed by Japans ( I assume Japan would have been a pretty big market for expensive euro hatch backs in mid 2000s)
  20. Was curious about how the 14077 BMW 130s compared to other BMWs, there were more than 57627 E9x M3s made....
  21. Does seem to be that way... maybe PreLCI drivers just have better taste, or its maybe a market share thing? People buying expensive small cars wanted autos? 2006 was the largest production of 130s (half of which would be PreLCI), but LCI are more common as were made for more years. BMW 130i Production.xlsx
  22. My 130s insurance is up again, agreed value, and the insured value has dropped to well below sane replacement. I previously had it valued at 16500 (before blowing a few k on big banana brakes). Can anyone recommend a licensed dealer etc who would be able to value it from pics/description rather than in person (as covid...)
