They have worked perfectly for me on my e92 335 and the e90 M3. They work using the ABS sensors which measure the rolling resistance and seem to trigger on the e9x when a tyre is about 10 psi down. I've had 3 punctures in the last 4 years - worked every time.

Guilty. Cop was a mongrel. Traffic was moving at 58ish - he pulled me out of the flow. I asked him why and he said that looking at my car I probably speed quite a bit and never get caught. Cheeky bastard!!! I did the crime I guess - so did 2000 others on the road at the same time.

+1 on the Macbook Pro (esp with a SSD drive in it)

I fully agree with the PC+MacOS thing...I even took it a stage further and got an old Quicksilver G4 for nothing and put the PC guts into it...Can boot Mac OS and poxy old Windows if I have to. QuadCore 2.8 with 8GB RAM and a nice big GeForce card with 2x27" screens runs quite nicely... http://www.quakelive.com anyone?

Yeah, you are so right! I'm about 50 metres from the exchange and have fast ADSL2 speed (17k connection rate). Some places in NZ are fine - its just our crappy copper lines over a long distance....

baahaa haaa.... some of my 2008 mates use torrents. waiting for downloads is gay. streaming all the way

hook your AppleTV to a US account and use US iTunes cards... All the latest TV shows, cheap to rent... ATVFlash lets you browse, stream live files, boxee, the works....

AppleTV is awesome. Only AppleTV owners know what I mean. You can look over specs and features all day and night - but once you get one, you will wonder why the hell you didn't get one earlier. Fast legit way to get movies. Browse the store, watch trailers, choose a movie and click rent. Starts playing in about 2 minutes. Screw the whole torrent thing - too slow and for a $4.99 rental it just isn't worth wasting my time hunting torrent sites and pissing around. However, ATVFlash is a AppleTV software patch which lets you play .avi files your cheap ass pirate mates make you watch

Just so you know, Firestone next to the testing station on Sunnybrae road is open 7 days (until 4 on sundays) for any tyre related stuff. Fixed a puncture for me today while all the others (Discount tyres, Franks Allens etc etc) were all closed. Kudos and thanks!!!

My wife has a 118i motorsport and I'd have to say that it has been super reliable, economical and handles like very few other cars in it's bracket. Quite a few golf fans out there, the poor 1 series didn't get the attention it actually deserves. Like the e60 5 series, it was a bit ahead of it's time and only now are people actually getting their butts behind the wheel and realising they are great instead of trashing them from afar. The golf is bloody good, but the chassis of the 1 series is better. It gives great feedback and holds a tight line in corners. The 118 is a detuned 2l engine which if you rev the tits off it will perform quite well, but it isn't a stunner. Superchips have a small 10kw upgrade for it. +1 for the 1 series. It's a great car, very underrated in my opinion.

Just a computer update. These new cars can sometimes take a while to update.

The M3 puts out 295.

While the M3 is in for a bit of work, Jerry Claytons have me in a 335d loan car. It's a black coupe and i must say the engine is great fun! Compared to a 335i (which I had for 3 years), the diesel smacks down a ton of torque and keeps it on tap until redline, it is impressive! Thinking about the difference between them, the petrol has more urgency, it is more responsive and a bit quicker. On the handling front, there isn't too much difference. I have had the d push a little bit in a corner where the i wouldn't have, but it was probably in my head. Fuel usage. Well, the d is currently sitting on 10.2 per 100 with the same sort of driving as the i. The i would have been doing 11.5 So, diesel is definitely an option to the petrol version, but I'm not sure the fuel saving in this twin turbo tweaked up version would be enough incentive for ever so slightly less performance. I'm sure it would be better on a long trip, and I have heard that the 80-100 acceleration time of the diesel was better than the petrol. It might be. So, as clinton says, life begins at 600nm! (having said all of that, I'm hanging out for the M3 back!)

Haven't used them - but keen to! Great find!

I don't think BMW think this matter is a recall matter. WE know that the issue is there - esp on the early pumps and using biofuel mix. For the most part, once you have the latest pump, software upgrade and stay on "normal" high octane fuel - you should be sweet. I know that there are a few americans saying they still have issues - but you read any forum in america and it is full of "the world is ending" types. Look at the iPhone 4 debacle. I have seen no issues at all (and neither has any other one I have seen) - yet the yanks go bananas when they can't ring their mistresses. (They need to blame AT&T, not Apple) Actually, I use the iPhone 4 antenna as a good measure of someone's brain type. As soon as they see one and say "how about those antenna issues aye?!?", a virtual label gets stamped on their forehead- "idiot" If you refuse the software fix, and your car is under warranty, then it would void the warranty on that part. But, you say you don't have warranty - so it doesn't matter.
-
If you have a warranty from your dealer, you are covered. At the moment, there is a recall out for the software to be updated for this issue - just take in your key to a dealer and they will confirm. Make sure you only use standard fuels in your car and not biofuel mixes. This will reduce the likelyhood of problems in the HPFP. Areas in the states with compulsory biofuel mixes have big numbers of HPFP issues.

Yes, e90 m3, bloody awesome machine too! I see it as a change of situation rather than a loss of money. Money is an enabler, not a dictator in my world! -

Ok, the exhaust is a Remus professionally fitted by the Remus importer. It was done within 2 weeks of buying the car. The car was $134k new with the options it has. (Yeah, all the money brains will work out the exact $ and cents I have lost, meh. Focus on that and you will only get that! Big picture people!) Anyway, That engine does get the mileage they claim. On a long road trip it will cruise in at 8.8 per 100. Around town it gets up to 11 or 12 depending on your foot. The power comes in at 1700 rpm and it is a flat torque curve to redline basically. They put out more kw than BMW claim and the 0-100 is quicker than the 5.5 claimed. Drive it and you will see what i mean. Basically, I'd buy another 335 again. Loved every minute in it and would recommend it -
