Dude, I'm afraid having driven the V10 several times and the X6M (which has the fabled V8TT) - the V8 sounds like an old retired bull compared to the rip snorting howl of the V10. Also, if any of you have heard the X6M - it is bloody quiet. Stink! If they do use the V8TT in the new M5 - I hope they open the pipes and let the sound out!!! (and if you love V8s sooooo much - buy a Baaaathurst holden...hehehe - REF: Top Gear)

Please please don't put a V8 is the M5 - there are enough of those holden and audi things with V8s. Lets keep the sound only a V10 can make - with a couple of turbos maybe!!!!! I think I'm pissing in the wind...the V8TT is looking most likely..... ::sob::

The e60 M5 really does it for me. The V10 is jaw-dropping. It is a masterpiece. BUT, The SMG gearbox is SUCK!! If the e60 M5 came into NZ with the 6 speed manual instead of the 7 speed SMG - perfect car. The sound of a V10 at 8300rpm makes every V8 run for cover...and so they should. Just a note (from experience). If you drive a e60 M5 and press the M button on the steering wheel. Make SURE you are awake, alert and ready. Stuff happens quickly and it is one brutal machine!!!

Jerry Clayton BMW now has this "pointless car". I took it out for a test drive today. Awesome power. 550-odd hp gives a point to any car I believe! Looks? Hmmm, it is more like M-Sport styling than M styling. (I hope that comes across the right way) I only had it for a short time - but the 0-100 is still stuck in my mind... So, this is the fastest M car at the moment - so what is the next M5 going to be like? Can't be slower than an SUV...

I had a very interesting discussion with a person high up in Greenpeace - and he told me that they were making good money on whales etc for quite a long time. Play a "save the whales" ad on TV - phones start ringing with donations. That started to dry up a little, so they changed strategy to climate change. Now they have their revenues back to where they need to be. No bull. He used the words "changed strategy" - just like a business... Fair to say I was gobsmacked - but looking back, it does make sense - they need to feed their families too.

I don't think I understand the anti-iTunes talk here? WTF? Is it a bit of tall poppy or is there actually a reason? iPods play AAC, MP3, Lossless, AIFF and WAV. MP3 covers it all really...

Is there any other player in the market? I tried "saving money" in the early years - and ended up buying an iPod anyway... If you thought the Sony interface was bad - the others are not much better. I'm absolutely sure you can get "cheaper product" - but if it is a pain in the arse to use (like most are) - you will wish you got the iPod. Like a BMW, you pay a little bit more for a well thought out product. iPod FTW!

People are funny these days! My parents brought up us 3 kids (3 years apart) in a Holden Kingswood. Based on the brains of today's parents - that would have been impossible!! How did they do it? Wow! These days, as soon as you get pregnant it's "OMG, I have to have a 4x4! Where would the buggy go? And the nappy bag? And the food? OMG!!" My next door neighbour has 2 kids and they got a 2008 VW Golf GTi. (I must apologise to her - I expected her to turn up with a 4x4 - she surprised me) It's funny, all her friends have 4x4s with 1 kid and can't understand how she does it. World has gone mad.

I'd say this is pretty piss poor service. I have NEVER heard of a car taking this amount of time for what you describe - but maybe this is normal for PAW. As I said before, you would have been better off with Bay's Car Painter and Collision repairs - at least you would have a loan car. They do a hell of a lot of work for Jerry Claytons... Anyway, you know for (hopefully not) next time... When you get the car back - pull out all the "carpets" and linings to check the job. take it for a drive where you can feel the handling and make sure it corners the same left and right - high and low speed... I'm sure others will give you more tips..
