E36 328i supercharger install
BM WORLD replied to BM WORLD's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
all seams ok , but i ran it on the dyno to check it was safe enough.its pretty easy to remap the 325i ecu etc to suit the super charger setup -
what he said ^. also take it gavin at hi-velocity and run it on his dyno , my 325i did 112kw same as my 328i , so if its more than maybe its a hartge , but i would guess its just an hartge engine cover brought on ebay etc. but remove the covers and see if there are any hartge stamps /markings on the head etc (inlet side)

need to set the tuner country code , i think europe works??
-
you can look up part weights on this website http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E30/2-doors/Europe/

are you sure the camshaft in there is not worn down, or could be worn rockers , sticky lifters etc
-
quite common , they just lower the reserve so the next bids owns it

if its dropped a valve there will most likly be holes in teh pistons and massive damage to the cylinder head. i would say time for a engine swap. the reason they normally drop a valve is due to wear in the camshaft lobes which causes the valve to shut very quickly then eventually breaking the head off the valve steem. cam wear is normally caused by lack of oiling to the camshaft due the banjo(hollow bolts) coming undone. you engine might look like this inside

happy birthday young fella.

yea thats plenty , my 4.4L v8 manual tuned did 190rwkw and a std 3l m3 does about 160-165rwkw all on the same dyno

just use a bmw 318ti or 318is fan switch from the radiator , the later type from the e36's that only use one electric fan (about 1995 onwards) they have 2 temp settings. just screw it into the side of the radiator and it will work through the orginal bmw fan wiring setup etc part 10 switches at 80 and 88 deg C http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E36/Comp...iator/radiator/ or this type part 10 switches at 91 and 99 deg C http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E36/Coup...iator/radiator/

yes most 4hp22 from m20 engines will fit e30 320i 325i 323i e28 520i e34 520i 525i . just check output flange type is the same , also check the electrical plug size and number of pins etc etc some e28's came with the electronic switchable type box which has the sports, ecno and manual switch in the console if it has this type you will need to replace it with that type again , ormuck around fitting the mechcanical kick down cable etc. the 525e also had a sleightly different torque convertor set up sop it locks up much earlier than the other m20 type. i have a manual pedal box , driveshaft , flywheel and clutch for one of these if you can find a suitable getrag 260 box from a preface lift 325i or 525e etc has to have place for the crank sensors to mount in the bellhousing for the flywheel trigger pick up point
