went down to taupo with the bmw car club this weekend , driver traing day . took the e36 328i down (e28 m5 engine still in bits) got to do some laps with racing ray williams in the passenger seat . was a lot of fun , with him yelling instructions . even managed to spin us around was hard trying to keep the e36 from sliding with its cheap junk kingstar tyres .

cheaper to run and maitain than a e38 . i have a nice 1990 750il here at work . black with tobacco leather

i brought the car with 465,000km the old engine was still going but had a knocky camshaft etc drove it all the way back down from nth of wellsford to papakurai then fitted a semi built up engine into it which i ran untill about 490,000km then came across a M88/3 m-power engine and have since fitted that into it , which i now have pulled out and fully rebuilding that one with some extra's for more power etc

my e28 m535i has 512,000km now , still drives fine

was done at about 130-140k , i pulled a perfectly good engine out and replaced it with a newly built up engine and fitted the 5spd box at the same time. had new rings , bearings , 10;1cr pistons fitted , honed bores , redone the head to all new gasgets , valve grind etc etc . shocks etc also lots of other bits done around the same time also some repianting of body kita and some panels touched up etc.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-283248720.htm wrongly advertised again . full hartge body kit hartge head , high comprssion pistons , rebuilt engine . lsd , new clutch, 17" by 8" bbs alloys new bilsteins , jamex springs , seats could do with a redye . the ecu could do with a remap to get the full advantage of the engine mods . should do close to 140kw at the wheels on gavins dyno if this was done .(standard engine's do about 110-120)

well said my thoughts too. but yes nice car and good luck with the sale , but my 2 cents worth . is that if you are going to try and get top dollar for a car i think you might need to leave some of the goodies on it (like nice wheels etc)..
-
nice collection you have there .
-
also e24 blocks . most likly best option is the 1982(9 mth) to about 1987(9mth) block with the 10;1 pistons. and you can run them on the later motronic system if you like from a e34 535i and e32 735i etc

side skirts are teh same size for compact , sedan , coupe , convertables and tourings . fronts all the same as well , rear compact one only fits compact . rear sedan ,coupe ,convertable and touring etc all the same. have some side skirts at the moment . and have a front one that needs repairing . and possibly can get a rear one in . cheers brent
