motronic 1.3 does use a bellhousing sensor , it uses a crank hub sensor and a ref cable around one of the spark plug leads . what is this going into?? , what have you modified ??? the older motronic 1.0 and 1.1 use a crank angle an dref sensor mounted in the bellhousing and you need a flywheel with a pick up point for it to work , but this was only used in e28 535i e24 535i e23 735i from about 1982 till 1987 e28 528i use l-jetronic

is that from a e39 or e34 and going into a e38? or e32 . are you sure its a 4.4L no just a 4L are you using the 7 series wring loom , why not use teh 5 series loom?? ecu ???

could be the foam surrounds or rubber sourrounds have perrished (or broken away from the edge of the speaker frame) and now the speaker cone bottoms out or hitting the sides of the pole piece etc.

why 1989plus ?? e32 started in 1987 e34 in 1988 same engine 9:1 compression ratio . only difference is some of the early 87/88 ones have casting in the blocks for both engine mounting positions etc.

get the correct trans . no other way unless you want to swap all the electronic inners from your old trans to the new one .(not even sure if its possible)

i got a kit including the bumper mouldings from BM warhouse in hamilton . quite cheap

from a e34 , e32 , e24 , e28 , e23 , large engine models or e36 (M3 3.2L )etc . will look at most options . just wanting to change the gear ratio of my e28 M535i diff . can even swap with the 3.73 gears that will be coming out , also have lsd packs to go in these large case diffs . cheers brent 021433600

k's dont realy mater on these engines , they will do plenty of k's as long as they have been serviced and are not over heated , plenty of m50 and m52 engines with 300-400,000km on them. the rest of the running gear is pretty straight forward , no real issues there , motorsport kit would be about $1000 depending on condition etc . but if you where to buy the car as well then we can talk . cheers ,you are welcome to come and view and test drive etc . in papakura 021433600

yes . something like 60/40 torque split , with basis to the rear.great if you live in snowy areas or always getting stuck in a paddock when feeding cows from the back of the tailgate , but other wise a bit of a waste. extra weight , use more gas , and lots a bespoke parts only for 4wd e34 . they have a steering rack , lower arms like a e36 etc . front diff bolts to the side of the sump and the right axle goes through it. special wheel offset , etc etc. different front struts towers etc http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E34/Tour...wse/front_axle/

why not leave it out and get a twinpipe rear exhaust to fill the larger gap like the factory 525i 535i 540i etc have. i have some of those those if needed

the locking solinods play up on these cars have some in stock if needed

you could just put the kiddy locks on

check control module faulty CCM in the front fuse box. or it might have a trailer module in the back left corner. or sometimes teh gauge cluster is the fault .

repco /supercheap etc sell torx socket sets . power built etc . also get yourself a 60-80cm extension to get at the top bolts around teh bellhousing.

i might have some coming in from euro land.yes very rare here in nz

the last few 540i tourings sold around $11-14k make it a manual and you have a good thing.

im sure he coul dsend it down on a truck or train etc about $700

I'm getting this E39 540i one fitted to my e36 328i coupe. as the top of the e36 boot lid needs painting due to scratches

i just hooked it up , it lights up but no sound from it . let me know if you are still wanting it . cheers brent

just listing this wagon on behalf of a freind . was at his place tonight and looking in his driveway of "five" e34 tourings , one e30 sedan and one e34 sedan and i said you gotta sell some of these . so here is the first one its a 1992 NZ new 520i touring . metalic brown . done about 150k. grey cloth interior . trans has lost oil and has limited drive. its the zf 5spd auto trans. engine is perfectly fine M50 2l non vanos engine . 15" alloys bbs or something . would a be a easy fix for someone . or maybe swap out the auto for a manual gearbox , maybe a fit a m50 2.5L or M52 2.8L engine . turbo , or do a M30 3.5L conversion . M60 V8 or M70 V12 etc . the car is tidy enough asking about $3k will try and get some pics over the next few days my mate lives in manurewa . call me if you like 021433600 looks something like this or could look like this with a few parts throw at it .
