thanks guys for the comments . yea i know , the guys a pretty good painter but he is a pretty busy one arm paper hanger and i dont think he had much time to do the fiddly stuff , and he knows i will . yes just put the plate there so i could drive it on teh road , will sort later , have to drill holes in the plate to match the holes in the boot lid yes looking forward to getting it all done , maybe it will be as quick as the old 23 year old e28 (one day)

you wont get 4L easily . using readily availible parts teh best is about 3.6L easist option is a 3.5l from a e34 , e32 etc. or e28 , e23, e24 or go for the early very 3.5L with 84mm and fit the later 3.5l 86mm crank etc and get about close to about 3.6L if you do a over bore with custom pistons then you get some where near 3.7L

yes as soon as gavin comes up with a system or maybe i will get this set up from here. http://millerperformancecars.com/catalogue...=0&vmcchk=1
-
yes drives great , nice wall of torque . when he started tunning it his words where " man its a bit of a power honey" gavin also drove it afterwards and said it pretty good and wanted to steel the engine for his e30 335i race/road car
-
yes all the parts in the front suspension , brakes and steering etc are different from std e34 and yes will be slow and thirsty , would make a great donar for a turbo m50 conversion or a 3l or 3.2l m3 engine etc otherwise pretty slow only realy any good if using it in the snow ,sand or mud lots
-
or if you like e34 tourings you could always offer my mate some $$$$ for one of his ones. and theres one more thats not there at the moment

spent most the day with gavin today , doing a remap on the e28's m5 engine's ECU . got some good results that you can feel etc . been there before just for a check and see etc , tring different settings on the std ecu (they have a fuel quality switch on the side of teh ecu) also playing around with the old worn out AFM (spring and swing arm setting etc) managed to get the old girl up to about 158.4kw and about 340Nm with it starting to drop off at about 6000rpm . so with a bit of tweaking etc also fixing the TPs switch for consistant wide open thottle setting. got about 164.2kw and about 350Nm but holding the power till about 6400rpm which is closer to what it should be . but the power is up about 4-5kw average from about 4500rpm upwards, and also torque has increased . you can see the 2 lines showing orginal and after remap runs .
